NEW YORK --Gillian Anderson, star of TV's "The
X-Files," is having a baby with her new beau. Her
spokeswoman, Connie Freiberg, confirmed to The
Associated Press on Tuesday that Anderson will give
birth to her second child at the end of the year.

Anderson, 37, has an 11-year-old daughter, Piper, with
ex-husband Clyde Kotz, a production designer. She and
her second husband, documentary filmmaker Julian
Ozanne, separated in April after 16 months of
marriage.

"The-X Files" ran from 1993-2002. Anderson starred as
agent Dana Scully.

She and her daughter live in London

Gillian's latest love, a wheel clamping boss

It is only a month since Gillian Anderson divorced her second husband.

But she has already found new love, with the most unlikely of suitors.

The Bafta-nominated actress, 37, has started dating the wealthy
director of a wheelclamping firm.

The man in question, 34-year-old Mark Griffiths, lived near the home
Miss Anderson shared with her husband Julian Ozanne in Notting Hill,
West London.

The pair became friends around the time of the breakdown of the
actress's marriage.

Two weeks ago, Miss Anderson and Mr Griffiths moved into a new
£3million home the actress bought in fashionable Holland Park.

They spent two days lugging furniture and fine art paintings into the
house. Pictures of the couple unloading shopping showed Miss Anderson's
12-year-old daughter Piper has also taken a shine to Mr Griffiths.

The pair then left Piper with her nanny Kimberley and were driven to
Heathrow airport to fly away for a romantic week-long break in
California.

At Heathrow, the pair were adamant that they would not be photographed
together.

Miss Anderson strutted purposefully into the terminal with her arms
crossed and head down, leaving Mr Griffiths with their suitcases.

He is far removed from the string of glamorous suitors Miss Anderson
has enjoyed romances with in the past. Her first husband Clyde Klotz
was an art director working in the film industry, while Mr Ozanne was a
film producer and former newspaper foreign correspondent.

Mr Griffiths spends his weekdays masterminding one of the country's
most profitable private wheel-clamping firms.

It is based in an office above an ice cream manufacturer in a grubby
backlot at the Gateway trading estate in Harlesden, North London.

   He is a director of MET Parking Services with his 27-year-old brother
Graham.

The firm is responsible for enforcing parking regulations by clamping,
towing and fining drivers at numerous sites around the UK.

Early signs are that the relationship is going well. But Miss Anderson
has had a che-quered

love-life. She broke up with Mr Ozanne shortly after an alcohol-fuelled
outburst on a flight from Sri Lanka to London in January. She allegedly
shouted at passengers.

The actress left her first husband Mr Klotz in 1996 after two years,
saying: 'I've outgrown him. He bores me.'

Miss Anderson, who is American but was brought up in England, played
FBI agent Dana Scully alongside David Duchovny as Fox Mulder in the
sci-fi series The X-Files from 1993 to 2000.

Shortly after leaving the show she moved to London where she has lived
since.

This year she received a Bafta Best Actress nomination for her
portrayal of Lady Dedlock in the BBC's acclaimed adaptation of Charles
Dickens's Bleak House.

It started out on some cartoon show and MTV picked it up and ran it,
starting in 1998. If you do a search for Celebrity Deathmatch on
IMDB.com, you can find out all the info about it. Also, go to the links
to the message boards at the bottom of the page to find out about a new
episode debuting on the Internet this summer.

Celebrity Deathmatch was a funny "claymation" (animated clay figures)
series that paired off popular stars against each other. I vaugely
remember this episode when it first aired about 8 years ago. If I
remember correctly, Gillian kicks a lot of claymation ass. :)

Good news for all the geeks and paranoids and geeky paranoids of the
world. Apparently the truth is still out there.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have both signed on to star in the
second X-Files motion picture, reports World Entertainment News
Network  .
The movie will pick up four years after the 2002 finale that left
agents Mulder and Scully on the run from the FBI—and longtime fans to
wallow angrily over their fan fiction novellas.

Executive producer Frank Spotnitz said the script is nearly finished.
“We've worked out most of the plot,” he said.

Spotnitz states the sequel will be light on the show’s UFO conspiracy
mythology, adding, “It's very liberating to be freed of that.”

The film will begin shooting after X-Files creator Chris Carter and
20th Century Fox settle a lawsuit over syndication profits.

So, that is to say: never.

Spotnitz Writing X-Files 2

Frank Spotnitz, the mastermind behind much of the mythology of The
X-Files, told SCI FI Wire that he has signed on to help write the next
movie based on the hit series, but that the new movie won't deal with
the show's byzantine conspiracy arc. "There's still a very good chance
that we will all do another X-Files movie," Spotnitz said in an
interview. Spotnitz was an executive producer on the show, which
starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson; it ended its nine-year run
in 2002.

One point of contention in getting a second X-Files film off the
ground: Series creator Chris Carter is still wrangling with 20th
Century Fox over legal matters. "David, Gillian and I, and even Chris
Carter, all have deals in place, and once the legal issues are over
with, we will go on with it," Spotnitz said. "I'm hoping it will get
resolved soon."

Although the script isn't written, the idea is already developed,
Spotnitz said. He added that Fox likes the idea, which hearkens back to
the series' stand-alone episodes rather than the conspiracy to cover up
the existence of extraterrestrials, which was the subject of the first
X-Files movie.

"No, we're not going into the mythology [in the sequel]," Spotnitz
said. "One of the things that was exciting about doing it is to not
make it a mythology story, and it's like one of the stand-alone
episodes. It's a bit scary. Of course, we will catch up with the
characters and what is going on in their lives, but it's not about the
alien conspiracy. It's not about that." The first X-Files movie came

David Duchovny meets Craig Ferguson

One Hollywood star. One latenight talk show host. A sold-out audience
full of rapt fans. And what was it all for? A book. Craig Ferguson's
book, a novel called Between the Bridge and the River.

The Tuesday night event was part of the excellent interview series
Writers Bloc. Last night they presented Frank McCourt (Angela's Ashes)
with Ann Taylor Fleming.

You might know Craig Ferguson as the host of the Late Late Show on CBS,
or as a Scottish comedian, or as the boss on the Drew Carey show. After
hearing him talk about his book — which is apparently about religion
and morality while being profane and wickedly funny — we think he's an
author, too.

Why was he talking to David Duchovny, who played Fox Mulder on The X
Files? Well Duchovny (as all the fan girls know) is an ivy-leaguer who
abandoned his literature PhD studies at Yale to come to Hollywood. He
recently wrote and directed his first feature House of D, so he's a
renaissance man, too.

The evening was introduced by organizer Andrea Grossman, who started
with such an articulate and thoughtful description of Ferguson's book
that at one point Duchnovny picked up his notes and mimed sneaking
offstage. Then, as her intro continued and she got to Duchnovny's
Princeton-Yale pedigree, Ferguson did his own mock sneaking off. The
two had a rappore that was both intelligent and silly. Their bon mots,
as we could scribble them, after the jump.

Craig Ferguson on where his book started: "I thought I wanted to write
a book about a Scotsman who got drunk and came to America."

Duchovny on listening to your creative muse: "The voices are actually
talking to you instead of turning their backs and saying you're an
idiot."
   Ferguson: "There's a part of me that instinctively knows when I'm
being truthful."

Duchovny on Between the Bridge and the River: "it's a very amoral moral
book." He also called it "picaresque" and "madcap." (picaresque! that's
so lit major!)

Ferguson: "I like show business because it has no college entrance
requirements. I also hate show business because it has no college
entrance requirements."

Duchovny: "What is it with you and the word pamplemousse?"
   Ferguson: "If you use the French word for grapefruit you sound
brainy.... and it's more sexy than the word 'grapefruit'."

Ferguson on how being the Late Late Show host affects his book: "I get
to do this, I get to be interviewed by someone more famous than me."

Duchovny on why he's the interviewer: "We share a woman,"
   Ferguson interrupts, disappointed: "Not Tea."
   Duchnovy finishes: "A manager."

When asked (again) about how being an entertainer might affect the
reaction to his book, Craig Ferguson said, "Whether they take it
seriously or don't take it seriously, forgive me, but fuck 'em." Then
he went to sign books in the lobby; the line of fans waiting to buy
Between the Bridge and the River extended out the door.
