I'm going to L.A. for a few days, so I won't have access to email or the web
until I get back on Monday. Just wanted to let you all know, in case you send me
fanfic to be uploaded!
I posted the first chapter of my answer to teh
Christmas fanfic challenge to teh archive, and am hard at
work on chapter 2. It's called "Operation: Wonder
Woman" and you cna find it
here:<br><br><a href=http://wwfanfic.net/operation1.htm
target=new>http://wwfanfic.net/operation1.htm</a><br><br>Also, we have a new
fanfic challenge :)<br><br>Take
your favourite episode, and write a "missing
scene"—something that you wish we'd gotten to see, but never did
in the aired episode.<br><br>Ever wondered how Diana
Prince got the nurse's uniform in the Military Hospital
in the Pilot? Or how Major Trevor felt after he and
Diana fought over Andros in Judgement From Outer Space?
Did Diana have a going away party in Washington
before she moved out west in the Man Who Couldn't
Die?<br><br>Let your imagination run wild!<br><br>All I ask is
that the story be no shorter than 1000 words (approx..
3 single spaced typed pages), and be Rated G
through Rated R—no smut, please!
We need characters in the RPG forum at the fanfic
website. I'll play Wonder Woman and TPatriot2 will play
Steve Trevor. There are many other parts up for grabs,
especially for a villain. You don't have to write a lot at
one time in a role playing game and it's lots of fun,
especially if the players post regularly. Come join us!
I think what most likely happened was that the
chapter got sent as an HTML file over email, and so your
browser settings formatted it to your default font
size...<br><br>Once it's all finished and edited, I'll be sure and
add it to the archive with a Large Type version
>(Thanks to Susan for writing her chapter
bigger >and in bold.)<br>> Judy <br><br>I'd love
to take the credit, but it wasn't me! Not
intentionally, anyway! I would do that if I could, but I don't
know HOW! We probably owe it all to yeoman_prince!!!
<G><br> Susan
I love your round robin. Screaming Javelins was
one of my favorite CBS episodes and I always
regretted not knowing why Mariposa hated Diana Prince so
much.<br>(Thanks to Susan for writing her chapter bigger and in
bold.)<br>Judy
I met Yvonne (Batgirl) Craig a few years back.
And what a charming and wonderful woman she was too.
Very open and talkative. Spent a couple of minutes
chatting to her and her lovely sister (would have been
longer, except there was a queue forming to meet her -
heheheh!) One of the few celebs who actual answers email
too - and she remembered my email when we met!
Something I noticed today re-watching The Fine
Art of Crime... in one scene Diana is wearing a cross
around her neck. Surely this would be inconsistent with
her religious upbringing, don't you think?<br><br>But
one thing that struck me as being a detail they DID
pay attention to, that would pretty much go unnoticed
was the license plates on Diana's powder blue
Mercedes. In CBS season one they read 7T6-493 and in season
two 8B3-253, both Washington DC Bicentennial, of
course.<br>Just thought I'd share. I added them to my list of
FWQs:<br><a href=http://www.geocities.com/slik_nik73/fwqs.html
target=new>http://www.geocities.com/slik_nik73/fwqs.html</a><br><br>Nick
Way to go, Nick! I am really enjoying this! You
are getting into the minds of all of the characters
very well indeed!<br> And, naturally, you are still
too good at leaving me hanging .... sigh. I hope you
are madly writing more chapters ... <G><br>
Susan
Umm, broken computer?? Is that a good enough
reason?? <br> Thanks!<br> Actually, I write TONS of fanfic
for GAMM (The Ghost and Mrs. Muir) ... which leaves
me very little time for any other show, I'm afraid!
But if the idea hits, I write! And this one
clicked!<br> Susan
Hmm, and I just saw another mistake I made in it. First I said the party would
be on Christmas Eve, THEN I said it was on the twenty-third. <br> Sigh.<br>
Sorry, everyone!<br>Susan
Oh sweetie! That's awful! I give you
hugs.<br><br>{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}<br><br>I've actually been going to cons since I
was about 15
years old, and so I've met a large number of actors,
writers, and the likes over the past almost 13+ years. But
I think my all time faves have been, in no
particular order:<br><br>Neil Gaiman (him what wrote
Sandman)<br>A sweeter, kinder, cooler, smarter guy you'll never
meet. Ever. I mean that. <br><br>Mark Ryan (him what
played Nasir in "Robin of Sherwood")<br>Great guy to
hang out with in the hotel bar until all hours of the
night (and morning) and he's funny as
hell.<br><br>Jessica Steen (she what played Pilot on "Captain Power",
and Dr. Heller on "Earth 2")<br>I had been a fan of
hers for ages and ages and at an Earth 2 convention,
sat at her table for dinner, and just had the best
time in the world talking to her about TV in
general<br><br>Tom Sniegoski (him what wrote Vampirella for Harris
Comics, and currently writes Buffy/Angel novels and
comics)<br>Tom is one of the coolest guys I've ever met, and a
joy to talk to. And he was one of my first interview
subjects when I got on the journalism boat last year. The
fact that he survived speaks well of him
:)<br><br>Gereint Wynn Davies (him what played Nick on "Forever
Knight")<br>Never actually saw Ger at a con, but I saw him at a
play in LA a few years back, and hung out with some
friends to shake his hand at the stage door, and we all
ended up down the street at the bar with the rest of
the cast of the play. He was just so nifty--and also
very funny.<br><br>Ben Bass (him what played Vachon on
"Forever Knight")<br>At his very first convention ever, I
was at his first panel, and he was very taken by
something on of the audience members asked him, something
to the effect of "Did you hang out after the show
with the cast? or was it 'show's over bye'?" and he
said "showsoverbye" three times fast and was vastly
entertained, so I got it put on a button for him in the
dealer's room, and suddenly had a buddy for the whole rest
of the week-end. There is nothing weirder than
standing in a hotel lobby, hearing someone yelling your
name from across the room, and discovering it's one of
the con's *guests of honour.*<br><br>Don Francks (him
what played Walter on "Nikita")<br>Out of the blue, he
danced with me after Opening ceremonies of the first
Nikita con, and what can I say? He's a charmer. Plus his
daughter Cree Summer is one of my all time fave voice
actresses (she was Hyena on "Gargoyles", and the lead in
Disney's "Atlantis").<br><br>Kirk Trutner (him what played
Cameron on "Earth 2" and was the guy what broke his leg
in "Dante's Peak")<br>Met him at the same E2 can as
Jessica Steen, and have actually stayed friends over the
last 6 years. Nicest guy in the whole universe, and I
can't believe to this day how lucky I was to meet him.
Tres, tres nifty.<br><br><br>I would love to meet
Lynda, but the truth is, I'd more love to meet Lyle
Waggoner! <br><br>I've read a number of interviews with him
online from the past decade, and he and I are of the
same mind about the show in a lot of ways, and I'd
just love to shake his hand and tell him how much I
enjoyed his work. I know that sounds corny, but I can't
help it. The ABC show was my fave :)
Okay, not exactly... But I've updated the site!
<br><br>Restructed the home page a bit, so that it loads much, much
faster. Added a link to us page with banners for linking
back to this site. Updated the archivewith three more
chapters of "The Visit." And we've got Christmas Challenge
fiction coming soon! Yay,
Susan!<br><br><a href=http://wwfanfic.net
target=new>http://wwfanfic.net</a><br><br>enjoy!
Not Lynda Carter, no. But I did have an
opportunity to meet a celebrity once, and blew it. Given the
cirmcustances, it's the closest thing I have to a
regret.<br><br>[The following is mildly off topic, so if you don't
care about the details, skip to the line of equal
signs.]<br><br>The guy who played Scotty on Star Trek (I *think* his
name is James Doohan) was coming to a charity event
near my town to do autographs. I was a MAJOR Trekkie
at the time (I consider myself a "recovering
trekkie" now, a joke for another day), so I was really
pumped to go for months in advance.<br><br>And then an
opportunity came for me to help work for the event. Can you
say "backstage pass"? I had already taken a vacation
day at work, so I was able to go -- and more than
willing.<br><br>The event was on Saturday. On Thursday, one of the
three bosses comes in and tells me she desperately
needs me to work a double that Saturday because of a
death that affected several crewmembers (the
disadvantage of working at a family business). She managed to
talk me into it, after all, I'd have other
opportunities wouldn't I?<br><br>That Sunday, I had a major
run-in with one of the other managers and found myself
on the wrong end of a two-week suspension. I instead
quit Monday.<br><br>He's never come back anywhere NEAR
my town that I've heard about in time to take
vacation
time.<br><br>==========================<br><br>The moral of the story? Never
pass up opportunities
just to please your boss. You'll probably live a lot
longer than you'll work for any given boss.
Yeah, I am. Sorry, I've only seen that part once.
I'm not of the original WW TV show generation; I've
had to catch the reruns on FX and the Sci-fi channel.
And I am sure that everyone knows how the shows got
butchered.
Are you talking about when they were having dinner with Steve and Peter Knight
in "Fem. Myst." and she says something about shooting a stag with her bow or
something to that effect...?
