Hello! I am looking for four episodes from 2004-2005 that featured a
family with homeschooled children. Do you know if this is available on
tape, or did anyone happen to catch these episodes on tape? Thanks!
I just saw the Allemon/Johnson (Season 3, Episode 11) on TV and I was
wondering if anyone happened to capture this episode on tape or know
where I may buy a copy? Thanks!
Will
yes I have a tip, as a former victem, do not do it stop them now before it is to

Angie,
My sincere condolences. My biggest tip to anyone would be don't do
the show. As for things you should know:
-They will lie to you to get what they want on camera.
-They will "suggest" (tell you) what to say.
-If you don't cooperate, they will simply edit it later to get it
the way they want it.
-They will ask you questions off camera that seemingly have nothing
to do with anything. Your answers will be filmed to be edited later
in whatever manner they see fit. An example of this would be - The
producer/director asks you "Do you like broccoli?". Your answer - "I
hate that!" Later, they show your reaction as an answer to a
completely different question from someone else, usually done in a
way that either embarasses you or makes you look bad.
-They will use your family members' video diaries against you.
-They will do whatever it takes to get you to fight with your
switched partner. They love to set up "Springer moments".
-In several cases, they have tried to split families. They have told
participants that their spouses were leaving them.
-You will have NO privacy during the 10 days they are filming. You
must assume that everything and everyone is wired for sound (they
are!). Anything you say is being recorded and will be used against
you at every opportunity. They don't even want you to turn off your
mic when you go to the bathroom.
-They will try to control who you see and talk to during filming.
They will screen your phone calls. They will tell callers that you
are busy filming even if you're not. They will tell callers that
they will give you phone messages. They won't.
-Assuming you have watched the show, you know that they always have
1 person or family that they make look like utter fools.
Some friends of mine did an episode. It wasn't a pleasant
experience. I hope that yours is better, but be prepared. There are
a lot of unhappy former participants out there.
We are still up on the board, waiting our turn.......
I wish you lots of luck. Just always stick to what your gut tells you
not the film crew.
Be open to new adventures.....
We are getting ready to be filmed for the show - anybody have any
tips - things we should know? I would lvoe to learn from some others.
Thanks so much!
Angie

Awww, we are finally finding out how rdf/abc love to make families
look bad on their show, and all the time they were telling them it
will show them in a positive way! sorry, everyone who does this show
are victims of rdf/abc and if they do not understand before filming,
then they soon will afterwards!:P learn from some of the people who
have been there! it is all a lie. they tell you what you want to hear,
then do what it takes, (threaten) till they get what they want.
I am sorry but not all Iowan's eat raw meat. I know this family was
not the typical Iowa family. Please know that not all of us Iowans
eat, dress, or act like these very different people on tonights show.
No I don't...but have you tried netflix?

for the most part they did enjoy it..there were some things they did not
like..like their kids having to have bloodwork done..and being evaluated by
psycholgists..they loved their producers though and their film crew...when my
sister went to the other home the man was a total grrrrrrr..but the crew kept
her sane...
they were not happy at first but after they expressed dispoeasure the crew or
producers changed some things and they were happy with the final airing....

My sincere condolences to your sister and her family. I would hope
that their experience with the show was a good one. Unfortunately, I
know several show participants who had very negative experiences. It
all depends on which family is chosen to be the "good" family and
which one is chosen to be the "bad" family by the producers.

There's not enough money they could offer me to let them victimize
my family either! Apparently, they're getting desperate for new
victims. They previously offered much less money. I know that word
has spread of how they treat people and more families are reluctant
to appear. After what I've seen them do to a good friend's family, I
can't believe that they are still on the air!
Folks, when you see them advertising for families to appear on the
show, beware!!! I can tell you from experience that if you agree to
appear, you will wish you hadn't. I wouldn't wish the experience of
appearing on this so-called "reality" show to my worst enemy.

Yeah, ABC and RDF couldn't pay me any amount to victimize my family
either! Looks like they are trying to find new victims for the show.
I've personally seen how their participants are treated during and
after filming. Folks, when you see their advertisements looking for
victims...er, families for the show, beware! If you sign up for this
so-called "reality" show/trainwreck, you will soon wish that you'd
never heard of them.
