Hi all!
Just writing to let everyone know how much I love this show!!! I
hope all families that participate can learn from their experiences
what changes they can make to improve their families.
Tonight's episode (#2) was sweet the way Jody realized how much time
she needed to spend with her kids and Brad having a whole new
appreciation for his hardworking wife!
I am looking forward to future episodes!!
As far as Bambi and Caprice goes, Bambi should have been grateful
when she walked into her fresh, clean house! It sickens me when I
think of all that hard work Caprice went through to get her home
smelling and looking good, just to have her go back to her old
habits. Good for Caprice in being humble enough to acknowledge
where she could make changes for the benefit of her family.
Are you talking about the ABC show? I saw it tonight but not before.

I tell you what I would have been outta there in a heartbeat, there
is no way that I would be picking up dog poop. Being a mother of 5
kids who are adults now, is no excuse for having a nasty house.
Playing with the kids is part of a parents job, but having rules to
follow is just as important. In my household, the work was shared.
He would cook breakfast & whoever got home in the afternoon would
start the dinnner. Homework was shared too. Maybe I a old fashioned
but that is the way I see it.
Hi my name is Jazzy. I having a ball watching this reality show. I
don't know if I would swap my life home for someone elses.
Especially if they had 23 animals in one house.

Of course, Bambi! With all those animals, that name should have been easy to
remember
also, lol.

That's a very good point.
(How funny is it that no one can remember the dirty mom's name, lol! I think I remembered Caprice's name simply because it means impulsive and spontaneous - two things that she does not seem to be!)
I havent seen my episode yet. It is still in the editing stage...
our show will probably be on in January. I am DEFINATELY cautiously
optimistic that I wont be portrayed as a raving lunatic! Ill
definatley let everyone know when to expect our show! Happy Watching
and Happy Posting!

Hi! I was just wondering if you (or anyone else on the list who did the show)
have seen
your completed episode yet, and how you feel about the way you were portrayed.

That's a very good point.
(How funny is it that no one can remember the dirty mom's name, lol!
I think I
remembered Caprice's name simply because it means impulsive and
spontaneous - two
things that she does not seem to be!)
I agree with you, Jill. Both "moms" had valuable things to teach the
other (and us). Unfortunately, only one of them paid any attention to
the life-altering lessons she learned. I was so glad to see Caprice
take the high road in the end and admit that she had been wrong and
that FilthQueen (cant remember her name either) was right about
something, even though she was so rude to her in the meeting. Not
letting her children make any noise at all is really extreme. It was
so sad when her older son asked for a "cute kitten." I am so glad he
got one and that the family takes such good care of the little guy.
And it was also great to see Caprice finally supporting her husband's
music and encouraging conversations and cheerfulness in her home.
Good for her.
That blond woman's home was inexcusable. I hope to god the ASPCA will
raid that house and find those poor animals decent homes. How dare
that ignorant woman call herself an animal lover and force those
sweet souls to live in such disgusting squalor.
I feel so sorry for the women her sons will someday date and, god
forbid, marry. They lack all discipline and respect. And by the way,
the responsibility is not soley hers. This show makes the men out to
be victims and saints which is total BS. That man is equally
responsible for the state of his home and the raising of his
children. Full time jobs don't exempt you from parenthood.
When the promos for the preview episode first aired, I expected to
tune in and see both moms having fits of rage about living
conditions/lifestyles. While there was a certain amount of shock
involved (okay, LOTS of shock), I thought they handled it with more
class than others in their shoes would have. I expected Caprice to
be witchy ... but -- while rather rigid in her cleaning, lists, and
need for quiet -- she seemed to be a rather sweet, kind person. The
other blonde lady (sorry, I can't remember her name!), although she
presided over a chaotic, rule-free household with definite hygiene
issues, did have a lot of love for her kids, and the household had a
lot of joy. I think they both learned from each other, and I
actually learned from them. I need to be a little more organized in
my cleaning routines, but I also need to take more time to get on
the floor and be goofy with my kids. I hope these ladies don't get
too much flak for opening up their lives to the public... that had
to be a rugged ten days. I really don't think I'd have the guts.
Oh, by the way, I sit here drinking my coffee from a straw --
thanks, Caprice!

I agree 100%! After seeing the condition of that home, I wondered if
the board of health or child protective services might actually be
calling on that family. There can be parasites in animal feces that
cause blindness in children. That's the reason pooper-scooper laws
were originally
enacted.
The "dirty mom's" (forgot her name) preachy attitude about bringing
life to the other family was so annoying. She did make some changes
for the better, but she seemed completely oblivious to any faults of
her own. What kind of a parent believes that their parenting
responsibilities end with food, clothing, shelter and education? Oh,
and "friendship". Those kids have plenty of friends - they need
parents for guidance and limits. I felt so bad for that sweet little
girl. I wanted someone to feed her a supper appropriate for a 2 year
old,
give her a nice bath and clean pj's, tuck her into clean sheets and
read her a
bedtime story. The thought of her running wild until all hours of
the night is just horrible. The truth is, it's EASIER to let the
house go and
not even attempt to parent your children. I wonder how many other
lazy
people take the easy way out, instead of nurturing their children and
giving them the gifts of responsibility, respect, and self-discipline.
(BTW, I also have to say I was inspired by Caprice, lol! She may be
a little obsessive/compulsive, but she inspired me to give my
reasonably clean house a thorough going-over yesterday!)

My only wish in this world is that that filthy woman with 25 pets
will read this board and hear what others really think of her "home".
1st off I died of laughter at the end of the show when she said "My
house is a home"....uh yeah, your right, it's a home alright. It's
a home that should be condemned! That was disgusting. How dare you
not think anything is wrong with poop all over your house. Editing
or not, there was poop there and you let you animals take over your
house.
2nd-Plan and simple, you have some work to do as a mom. The other
mom agreed she had learned some things, but your cocky attitude "I
learned that I like myself even more"...ha ha. Come on, really?
You let your children stay up at all hours of the night. You have
no bedtime for a two year old? And you call yourself a parent? Oh
yeah that's right...You called yourself a friend! Why have kids?
Why not just put an ad in the paper for some kids to live with you
so they can be your friends?
3rd-Those kids should be embarrassed to live in a home like yours.
Your sons may not be, but trust me you daughter will be. She will
not want to bring a friend over to see her overpacked, dirty house
that her father has to come home to clean after working full-time.
And you call yourself a stay at home mom? HA HA!!!!
Lastly-When someone gives you a gift like a dining room table,
instead of "trying" to find something wrong with it, why not
say "that was very nice".
Get a life. Learn how to clean. Get rid of your pets. And don't
criticize those that live a clean life. Believe it or not, society
likes clean people!
I am guessing you wont ever read this, because you can't even find
your computer!
It's so cool that there are actually "Wife Swap" participants on this list! I
saw the first show
last night and loved it. Have those of you who did the show seen your finished
episode
yet? If so, did you like the way you were portrayed, or did you think they
slanted things
with the editing?
The Oprah show yesterday was GREAT! My husband and I watched,
laughed and found many similarities within our own Wife Swap
experience. Im sure Wife Swap will be a success.... we are just
sad that we didnt get the chance to appear on Oprah. What an
incredible opportunity for the 4 families that appeared. Take
care... Happy Posting... and Happy Watching!
Wife Swap Texas/Oklahoma
I expect our show will air in January sometime. There's really no telling, as they can air the shows in whatever order they want to. Since we finished in August, we are guessing that they wont even finish editing until the next month or so. We were the 9th-10th show in production order. They've scheduled our post-interview shoot and are coming back to Texas in 2 weeks for about 5-6 hours. It seems like they JUST LEFT! Where are you from? I would love to hear more about your experience.... as much as you feel comfortable sharing without getting in legal trouble, of course. Our show extreme was the Bossy Bitchy Working Mom going to the Male Chauvenist.
mine was me being clean organized and a surburban mom switched with pure filfth vegetarian meditating family who doesnt own a clock oh yup i think we are the 3rd eposide ill let u know
I would love to know what your show "extreme" was... sorry that your
experience wasnt super pleasant. I understand how great it must feel
for you to be home and get your life back to normal.
