Myth Makers 3 and 4. Revised from the CD releases and the DWAS
chronicles. Also, a slightly corrected version of episode 2 of the
same story has been reloaded.

Considering it hasn't been updated since October, I'm thinking that
it is not your computer and someone has stopped paying for the space.
"What can be done?"
Not a lot I think- unless someone in this group knows how to contact
him?
Perhaps he will see these posts and reply with an explanation...
Kingspyder,if you`re out there...where has your website gone?
Perhaps further transcriptions should be put on hold until someone
has managed to track him down or we hear from him. I hate to think of
all the hard word people like J.Tomlin have put in just vanishing
into the great Cyberspace Recycle Bin...
Thanks for the comment but I've kept copies of all the transcripts
I've ever submitted on disc and have also downloaded to disc every
other one that has ever appeared up to early Tom Baker for my own
personal files. The BBC's lost episodes are also still on the
Earthbound Timelords site so all is not lost should someone else ever
have to restart the site.

I have every transcript that was on the site plus everything that's
been posted here in one form or another. Some need reformating and
work, but most of them I have as Micosoft Word files. If someone
needs them for a new site, all you have to do is email me.
It is still possible to access the website via google cache.
Download and install the google toolbar from:
http://toolbar.google.com/
Use it to search for the website e.g.
Doctor Who Transcript Project
Right click on the link to the main page and select
Cached Snapshot of Page
To follow links, right click the link and select
Cached Snapshop of Page
You can access and download most of the site this way.
Yeah, I also got them all on CD. The collection is minus some of the recent
updates from this group. Hope someone else will start the site again, I
miss it.

Same here. I have everything that was on the site saved and stored,
as well as "The Sontaran Experiment" Part 2, which I will post here
in the next few days after aI've reformatted it, etc.
Cheers,
Double_XX2003
I sent an e-mail on 3/4 to which I didn't get a reply. DoubleXX2003
said his e-mail wasn't working on 4/4 (see below). I do recall a
situation about two years ago whereby Artimus lost both the website
and his e-mail and the same thing could have happened again. Time
will tell. At least through this group we have the ability to keep in
touch and see if there is a need for someone else to do a website -
if there are any willing volunteers!

Yes! I seriously reccommend ezboard (www.ezboard.com) as their
groups and forums are perfect for posting the transcripts. I would
be more than willing to get one organised and get everything started
on it, eg- posting transcripts, etc... if the moderators want, of
course.
What do we think?
Double_xx2003
Have a look at
http://dwtpscripts.tripod.com/
and tell me what you think.
I don't intend this to be an official site. It is more a
proof of concept. I got the original content for google cache
as I explained earlier.
I've only included the first doctor so far.
If anyone wants to do the site officially, I can sent them a
zipped up version.
"If anyone wants to do the site officially, I can sent them a
zipped up version."
I think a mirror site is a great idea. Or why not have several mirror
sites? After all,the Dr Who Web Guide is mirrored all over the web so
why not the DWTP?
It would also mean that there would always be somewhere you could
find this stuff if Kingspyder and his original site remain lost in
the vortex.
I think several of us should set up mirror sites.
Send me the Zip file please!!!

I`ve just downloaded this Zip file and got the error message
that "the file is invalid or corrupted" !
Does this mean the there`s a problem with the file or the download?
I've now added the third doctor to the mirror site.
I've also fixed the broken link in The Daleks. Thanks for spotting
it.
I've split up the zipped up version of the mirror site into
three zip files in folder "mirror site" under files, to make
them smaller and hopefully easier to download. Unzip them all
into the same directory and click index.html to view.

Following the suggestion that several of us should make mirror sites
of the original, I have begun archiving the transcripts at ezboard
in a new board. The address is:
http://pub86.ezboard.com/bthedoctorwhotranscriptsproject
and I hope you will all join up! I have archived all the 4th Doctors
stories that we have, as well as the "Related Stories" as they were
called. Next, I will do the 6th, 7th and 8th Doctors before I move
on to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
I have, however, run into a problem. While trying to put The Five
Doctors on, (I have done the rest of the 5th), I run into the same
thing every time. I post it, and then click the "Add Post" tab...
but the page cannot be displayed! (Grrrr!) I have tried this several
times, but the same thing happens. Would someone when they joined,
be kind enough to attempt this themselves as my computer seems
unable to do it. Everything else, I will add on myself.
I have created a forum for each Season and planned on adding the
Five Doctors to Season 20. Take a look...
Thanks,
Double_xx2003
P.S. My ezboard ID is TheWhovian.
I'm reserving The Trial of a Timelord eps 5-14, if that's okay. I'v
nearly finished Part 5 and the rest should be under way soon. It may
take a bit to finish, but hold on and I will get there.
Cheers,
Double_xx2003
Great to see the mirror site up and running with all the new
transcripts uploaded. A couple of points (some of which were on the
old main site):
1) On the 1st Doctor page, Vicki is spelt 'Vikki' incorrectly against
each of her stories.
2) On the main page for "The Gunfighters", it is credited to the team
behind "The Sensorites" - Peter R. Newman and Mervyn Pinfield instead
of Donald Cotton and Rex Tucker.
3) On a related note, the main page for "The Sensorites" should show
that Mervyn Pinfield directed the first four episodes and Frank Cox
the last two.
4) "Planet of Giants" main page should show Douglas Camfield as the
director of episode 3.
5) "The Daleks' Masterplan" main page shows Terry Nation as the
writer of episode 10 when it was Dennis Spooner.
6) "The Massacre" - Donald Tosh was only credited as the co-writer on
episode 4. (He did co-write the other three therefore this one is a
difficult one to judge).
7) Gerry Davis was not credited for "The Celestial Toymaker" on
screen or in the Radio Times. Should we credit him on the main page?
8) "The War Machines" again credits Peter R. Newman and Mervyn
Pinfield instead of Ian Stuart Black and Michael Ferguson. Kit Pedler
should also be given a "From an idea by" credit on this one.
9) Should either "The Three Doctors" or "The Five Doctors" appear on
any page except for the third and fifth Doctors? They were made by
the production teams for those respective Doctors and, to my mind,
break up the narrative flow by having them within the page of other
Doctors. On a really picky point, for instance, "The Three Doctors"
is not part of the second season and "The Five Doctors" is not part
of the third. If either of these MUST appear on another Doctors page,
my personal view is that they appear almost as an afterthought at the
end - in the same way as they did in the "handbooks".
10) Innes Lloyd did not direct "The Tenth Planet" and Gerry Davis
only co-wrote episodes 3 and 4. Kit Pedler should be spelt with
one "t" in his Christian name. This spelling did appear this way in
part one but was an error. Radio Times got it right for all four
episodes.
Finally, I notice that the credit fonts for the latest upload of the
episodes that I transcribed ("Spearhead", "Inferno" etc) is not the
same as the one as I uploaded on this group. I'm not a techy but I
seem to recall that if you don't have a font uploaded on you pc, then
you don't see it in the original format. If this is the case, do you
want me to load the fonts used in the files section of this site in
order that group members can download?
Regards
John

YES PLEASE!!!
Thanks for the information. I will make the corrections you suggest.
Yes, please do put the fonts into the files section. I can then maybe
make the fonts available on the site for download.
But the problem is probably more to do with my messing about while
converting from Word documents to HTML. I was ending up with massive
files three to four times the size of the original and had to do a lot of
manual editing of the HTML to cut them down in size. I think Word 2000
tries to do too good a job.
I will change the fonts to what they are in the original document, but
as you say these will not be displayed correctly unless the user happens
to have the font installed on their computer.

Ian

As requested, I've loaded the fonts that I use in my own paper copies
of the transcripts. I've loaded them all as far as late 1970's. After
that, I've not really investigated them much.
A few words of explanation:
Hartnell: No one seems to know the name of the font that was used in
the programme's first three years aside from the fact that it was a
standard letraset. Haettenschweiler true type would seem to be the
nearest. It still has some elements missing (such as the very curly
bottom to the letter Y small case) but this is the best that I can
find. Even the Dr Who Restoration Team have to amend their fonts to
match the telerecordings when they re-create fonts on the DVD's. This
font was used from "100,000BC" to "The Smugglers" with the obvious
exception of the title credits to "The War Machines".
Troughton: Supposed to be Eurostile and this is what I've loaded but
I'm not convinced. Eurostile was definately used for "The Tenth
Planet" and some of "The Ice Warriors" title credits but after
that...? Compare the title credits on "The Enemy of the World". The
story name and episode number seem very different to the writer
credit (which does appear to be Eurostile). The nearest match I can
find is Univers condensed so I have also loaded this.
Pertwee (season 7 to 10): Futura Medium
Pertwee (season 11) to Baker (season 13): Futura Extra Black BT
Baker (seasons 14 to 17): Della Robbia
You may have to mess about with the 'Bold' feature on word to
replicate the differences between the title and end credits. For
instance, I find with Futura Medium that title credits look best at
size 20 and bold whereas the end credits are size 12, not bold.
I've loaded two versions of Della Robbia as that font doesn't seem to
work well switching on the bold feature. I also suspect that the BBC
used a slightly different font in the later Baker seasons (i.e. 16
and 17) and the capital W looks different. I don't know the name of
this font but will try and find it.
Seasons 18 onwards are anybody's guess!
For special stories, I have done my own mock-ups of "The War
Machines" and will load these in the photo file tomorrow, if I
remember. "The Ice Warriors" uses Eurostile except for the
word "WARRIORS" which I find looks good with a very large
Haettenschweiler font. "The War Games" is, I think, a standard Times
New Roman but I will check.
Regards
John
Further to previous posting, I've loaded in the photo's file the
title credits to "The War Machines". The story name already exists in
the same file. Use photo editor to create the negative versions of
these used in episodes 3 and 4 of these stories. I've checked my file
for "The War Games" and the font used seem to be Times New Roman
and "The Ice Warriors" was as I previously stated.
I've spotted a couple more errors on the main pages for the stories:
1) "Daleks' Masterplan" director should be Douglas Camfield.
2) "Faceless Ones" director is Gerry Mill, not Gerry Hill.
3) If Terrannce Dicks is to be credited on "Seeds of Death",
shouldn't Trevor Ray and Malcolm Hulke be credited on "Ambassadors of
Death"?
4) Barry Letts should be credited as co-director on "Inferno"
episodes 3-7 (Camfield being the sole credit for the location
sequences)
Regards
John
Congratulations on completing the second website! A great job well
done, and I think high praise is deserved for the person who started
it up again. Good work.
The TV Movie remaining Acts I should have draft scripts off soon
(that is- the speech only, unfortunatly- but hopefully, it is a
start!) and I will post them here along with the screen title
for "Remembrance of the Daleks" which I will get from the DVD when I
have a spare moment...
Cheers
