KT,
Happy 50tth from Upstate New York, where it seldom hits 50 below, but we are
closing in on 80" of snowfall for the season already, and the occasional
Moose wanders free. We can't see Russia from our front porch, but we can see
New Jersey, which is almost as good.
I will take your word for it regarding "Bedtime Stories" - just plain flat
don't go to movies any more, too expensive for me..well, when they get
around to making "The Return of Xena" starring you-know-who I will make an
exception (hold the $8.00 Popcorn).

Subject: [Whoosh!] Totally OT: Happy 50th Birthday State of Alaska
Totally OT but just wanted to share. . .
Here in the Alaskan Interior, it's below 50 below today-but I'm not sure
how much below-our thermometer only goes to 50 below and its stuck right
at that mark. According to NOAA, it's 51 below at the airport, about 4
miles away.
And what a choice temperature for us today, the 50th anniversary of Alaska
being admitted to the union! (Of course, it's only in the Interior of the
state that it's this cold-Anchorage is a mere 15 below and Juneau is 19
above. Weinies.)
Fairbanks was going to have outdoor fireworks on the university campus but
my honey and I forgot about it and didn't go. They MAY have canceled
it-but they didn't cancel the New Year's Eve outdoor fireworks and it was
high 40 something below that night too. So I wouldn't be too surprised to
hear that it went on as planned.
Anyway, happy anniversary to us, fireworks or not! Yahooooo!
