There seem to be much cheaper HD boxes out there , like the Fortec passion. So why should someone go for the Vantage 8000? Apart from blind scan I'm not sure...

I don't see any evidence that the Fortec Passion (currently £149 at Wizard) is PVR ready. I was under the impression that you need the Passion PLUS for that....
