Greetings to our Australian members! An episode guide can be
found... right here! In the Files section, at the left of your
screen. It only covers series 1 (so far), but that should get you
started. A UB marathon would work, as there are 39 x 5 = 195 shorts,
and 4 half hour specials.
Hi
I'm also in Australia and am setting the video for 4.25 every afternoon. I
stumbled upon Untalkative Bunny on the Disney channel at my mum's place. I was
won over immediately when UB went to the pet shop but unfortunately I don't have
pay tv which the Disney Channel is on. I often turn up at my Mum's conveniently
at 7.25pm. Disney has it on mon to thu at 7.25 and apparently on Friday nights
they show a few UB episodes, one at the end of each other show they have on. I
emailed Disney Channel from their website and suggested a UB marathon, pointing
out that there are lots of adult fans. I received a reply saying that they
realised it was very popular and that's why they were putting on so many
episodes on Friday nights and that they would keep my marathon suggestion in
mind, that they'd never thought of it. (A marathon of UB wouldn't take long,
given its length.) Any other Aussies on this list, maybe we could all send
Disney and ABC a message so they have an idea of UB's popularity.
Tonights episode was the one where Bunny goes in the Marathon. Favourite bit
was when Emu drank all the water instead of giving it to Bunny. Also loved
episode I saw the other week where Emu had a hole in his wall and was taking his
neighbour's clothes and putting them on the fire to keep warm. I made my
colleagues at work stay and watch that ep with me. They said they were
converted but I'm not sure if they were or whether they just wanted to go home.
I'm enjoying the list.
Catherine

Hi Verner. Do you know exactly which countries in Asia carry it? I
have heard Singapore, and maybe Thailand at one time. That's the far
east; it may be shown in the middle east as well. I have heard it
plays in Egypt (which is in Africa, but it's almost middle east). I
thought Disney channels carried it in all these far-away places, so I
was surprised to see that other post about ABC carrying it in
Australia. We should make a file listing all the countries and
stations where it is shown. If anyone has more schedule information,
let us know.
Possibly, only Canada shows it as a half hour show, made up of 5
shorts. Some of the cartoons have a running theme in groups of 5,
for example the 5-part story about Free Cable TV Week, so they work
well as either a half show, or individual carttons. There is an
episode guide in the files section that tells which cartoons appear
in each half-hour. There are also 4 half hour specials, 1 for each
season (Spring, Summer, etc.) and these are only shown as half hour
shows.

I'm not from Chile, but I'm from México, where we also speak spanish.
UB's called "El conejito callado" and... well... I don't know what
else to say, except that I have a few friends who don't like UB. They
say they don't get it... I don't get them, UB's hilarious!!!!!!!
Hi Mati,
Sorry we couldn't help you, but it's not like we have the files and
just won't give them to you! We are a small group, and some of our
members are connected to Dynomight, the company that makes UB, which
limits our involvement in unauthorized product distribution. Not
that there was ever much of any going around, compared to what goes
on in other fan groups.
Do you get UB in Chile? If so, what is it called? We are collecting
translations of the show's title.

Hi,
Is there anyone out there who has the UB theme in midi format and
would like to send it to me?
Or maybe post it under the Files section?
I'd appreciate it.
thanks!

UB is usually coupled with art attack in disney channel asia, for
about, i guess, 5-8 minutes. are there other formats? are there

Re major channels
It is on TV4 Sweden
Supposed to be on TF1 in France - anybody seen it?
SuperRTL Germany is a very major channel in that territory but I
think it has finished now.
TV3 in New Zealand
& I think it is on a major channel somewhere in Benelux, & somebody
recently mentioned Poland to me.
My source is a neighbour who used to work with HIT who are the sales
agents.
It plays as a 5 minute program in most territories outside of
Canada, eapecially where it is on a major channel.
Even in the UK on Disney (which is a minor satellite & cable
channel) it is played as 5 usually coupled with Art Attack.

All our screen stills pics were contributed a long time ago, possibly
by someone from Decipher, since they don't have those annoying TV
station logos in the corner. I would like to get more, even if they
do have logos. We don't have any shots of some characters: Mangoose,
Beaver, and Friendly Friend. I would love to have that picture of
Mangoose "measuring" Bunny's face.

Let us know if you see any merchandise, especially if it's on a
website with a picture. I wasn't aware UB showed in Australia. Is
it on regular, non-paying TV? If so, this would be the only place I
know of where it's not on a special cable station. I looked up ABC's
schedule on the net, and found they are showing it as a 5 minute
filler.

Nope, no word on any merchandising of any kind, at least not in
English. I'm sure, by this time, it will never happen, at least not
from the people who currently own UB. In another post, I wondered if
the current owners will find they are not making money on it, and
sell it to someone else who will suddenly realize the show's
potential, give it a wider audience, and make DVD's available.
Follow-up on the group category: remember, it is just for the Yahoo
search list. Once you are inside the club site, you won't see the
word "ch*ldr*n" mentioned anywhere.
Okay, fair enough. As long as you know at least one of us registered
our discontent about that, that's fine by me. :)
By the way, any word on Season One DVD yet?

I hope you don't mind all the messages I'm sending out today. There
is so much to say! Here is another potentially boring technical note
that many of you may not care about.
I have discovered that Yahoo has changed the way pictures are
uploaded, several times in the past few years. At one time, the
picture would load in whatever size the original was. At the old
site, you will see some examples where you can click on a thumbnail
page, and get the full size picture immediately, with more than 400
pixels in one or more dimensions. But it is no longer possible to
create a photo that works this way.
At some point, Yahoo made a change. If the picture is larger than
400 pixels wide (but height does not matter), the picture is resized
to 400 pixels wide, and you have to click on another option to see
the full sized picture. If the original picture is less than 400
pixels wide, it is shown in its original size.
Recently, Yahoo has changed things again, which I found when moving
pictures to the new site. Under the new system, pictures which are
more than 400 pixels in either width are height, are resized so that
the larger dimension is 400 pixels. Once again, the display page
gives you an option to see the picture in its original size. If the
original picture is less than 400 pixels in both dimensions, the
picture is BLOWN UP so its larger dimension becomes 400 pixels.
There is no option to view this picture in its original, smaller
dimensions, which is too bad, because a resized picture is likely to
be a little fuzzier than the original.
It's possible that in moving pictures around at the old and new
sites, some large "original size" pictures have been dropped. If
that happened, it's my error, and the full size picture is not at the
old site. If you are the original contributor of a picture, and it's
not on our new site in its full size, please let me know. I will
delete it, to allow you to upload it again. I'm not even sure there
are any pictures in this situation, so maybe I'm posting this for
nothing. We do have many large sized pictures in our gallery.
Wow! Thanks for all your hard work, Allen. Maybe now we can keep out the
riff-raff, guarding against those undesirable types and mystery spammers.
Thanks for copying over the photos and files especially the old 1998 clipping
and the interview with Graham Falk. Brings back fond memories. I really
liked our "UB conjectures". That was fun too. Lots of interaction there!
I still have to take a few more minutes to try the game. It's just that I get
disoriented easily. And I just don't like that emu.
Hopefully, we will be able to maintain the fun (and clean) interaction between
members and keep on with supporting that cute little yellow fella - plus a few
of his friends! Well, maybe not those creepy Mangoose's or sneaky Emus...
Uh-oh! Did I start something? :P

Did you know that the Untalkative Bunny Club is one of the nicest and
most used clubs at Yahoo? I didn't realize this myself until
recently, when I began looking around the other Clubs for the
first time, a few weeks ago. I never found the UB club originally by
browsing through Yahoo groups, but rather, by doing an Internet
search for Untalkative Bunny. I suspect most of our members found us
this way.
I don't know how many Yahoo clubs there are; possibly a million?
Many of them are created and then abandoned, and have nothing but
spam messages in the last year. Many are "private", so we can't see
what's happening, except we can usually see the number of posts per
month at the bottom of their home page, and most of the time they
have few recent posts.
I have also seen clubs which are active, but are plagued by spam, and
the moderators don't seem to know how to control this, and other
problems at their group.
All of this made me realize how good our group is. We are running
the group well, in comparison to others, and the number and quality
of our posts is far above what I am seeing at other sites. So I'm
really proud of this Group!
I also realized this group is very hard to find when searching
through Yahoo groups. I have changed the "category" of the group,
and the old group as well. Here is an explanation, which you might
want to skip, because it's a bit boring, but I thought you should
know:
If you were to click on "Groups Home" at the top of this screen, you
would get a menu of 16 main categories, and if you would click on any
of them, you would get a long list of sub-categories which are the
next "level". The main page also has 3 or 4 of the most popular sub-
categories under each of the 16 main categories. It is reasonable to
presume some searchers would start by clicking on one of those 3 or 4
recommended choices, e.g.
Entertainment & Arts -> TV
This is the first problem: if the searcher does this, they have
already gone past our club's location, and they will never find it.
To find our club (where it used to be until recently), the first step
is to choose "Entertainment & Arts", and then "Comics & Animation",
which is not one of the recommended choices from the main menu.
Another problem with "Comics & Animation" is it covers too much
ground. It includes things like comic books and comic strips, and is
not specific to TV animation.
Under "Comics & Animation" is another sub-category called "Cartoons",
and this is where we were located. But there is another problem.
There are more levels after "Cartoons", i.e. "Titles" among others,
and it is reasonable that a searcher would continue going down level
after level, until they come to an actual list of groups. So by
listing our group under "Cartoons", and not using the further levels,
once again the searcher is going to skip past us.
And one more problem: when the searcher does get to an actual list of
groups, the list is sorted by the number of members in the group,
with the largest groups at the top. In order to be seen, we need to
be as close to the top of a list as possible. In our old location,
there were many other large groups, so that we got bumped way down to
page 5. It's not likely that most searchers would look beyond page 1
to find a good group.
So, with all these problems, it's a wonder anyone has been able to
find us at all! By the way, I'm not blaming the person who chose our
old category, because I suspect these categories and menus have
changed over the years. It's likely our old category was really the
best one back in 2001 when our club was created.
So where are we now? We are at:
Entertainment & Arts -> Television -> Genres -> Children -> Titles.
And in this list, with 425 members, we are in the number 2 position,
almost at the top of page 1. That's much better! Of course, this is
for the old club's location. We need to get more members at the new
location before it moves up to page 1. But I'm hoping this change
will allow more fans to find us, and cause our membership to grow.
Hello, and welcome! The Untalkative Bunny Club was founded in July
2001, just 2 months after the first episode of the TV show went on
the air (or rather, on the cable). It has 425 members.
For technical reasons, it has become necessary to move the Club to a
different location, but we are still keeping it within Yahoo. We are
closing access to the old Club, but are keeping it open so you can go
back and read the old messages.
Aside from messages, all the files, photos, and links from the old
location have been moved here. We have made every attempt to make
the new Club look like the old one, right down to the colour scheme
and home page picture. The URL or Internet address of the new Club
is almost the same as the old one's; we just removed the word "the"
at the beginning.
Ideally, we would like to see all 425 members sign up to the new
location. Even if you do not use the Club much, we invite you to
renew your membership. If you have any problems doing this, you
still have the ability to contact the Moderators (allen6264 or
philosopherbunny) from the old location, for assistance. It is no
longer possible to post to the group at the old location.
