Hello. This is sent out each month to members to make them aware of list
rules and to answer any questions you may have.

1. Why did my post not appear in the message archives?
Your post may not have appeared in the message listing because it may be
totally irrelevant to the topics discussed on the group, or the fact that is it
a one liner. Sometimes I will not approve messages with inappropriate
content in it (it will either be edited before it goes through as a message
or deleted).

2. What are the rules on Chain Mail and Forwards?
I will not be accepting chain mail on this group, as people do get frustrated
with messages like these, and will be deleted should people try and send chain
mail/forwards within this group. Should they continue doing this, it may
result in the member/s being removed from this group. Forwards are only
accepted if they are for the purpose of the group, for example forwarding a
news article from elsewhere (however, the source should be clearly stated in the
message).

3. I have too many e-mails coming from this group, what should I do to cut back
on the mail flow from the group?
You can either set your delivery options to daily digest or to no mail being
sent to you at all, so you can view the messages at the group message archive.
This should enable you to reduce on the amount of messages you get, messages in
a daily digest, vary from 1 message to 25 messages. If you wish to change
your delivery options, and do not know how to, do not hesitate to contact
either the owners or moderators, and we should do it for you. Because this
group has a lot of mail coming through, it is recommended you have your mail
options as either one of these to prevent your e-mail addresses from bouncing.

4. Language, content of manner and disputes or disagreements arising between
members.
Bad language will not be tolerated on this group, and therefore the messages
they send containing bad language will either be edited or deleted, those
continuing to send messages with content of bad language (after 3 warnings)
will be removed from the group. Please try not to send hate mail to other
members, whether it is through the group or personally, I don’t want to have
to remove people for this sort of behaviour, and please try not to judge other
shows (like saying you hate them so much), as this may result in that one person
sending the message leaving the group because of your opinions. If
anyone has any disputes, please contact me or any of the moderators, so we can
help sort this out.

5. How do I go about sending spoilers?
The spoilers are to be post on this group, as this group is for all
discussions on your favourite shows. Please use spoiler spaces for posting
spoilers, because members on the group may be from different countries and may
not have seen the episode yet, and are far from seeing it. And try and include a
spoiler warning in the subject field of the message/s.

6. Can I promote my groups or other websites here?
If it is a group or website relating to the purpose of this group, then you can
post out ONLY 1 message telling us about it with the link and then put that link
in the links section of the group (the links section is available for anyone to
view).

Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy my group!

A new face is coming to Seattle Grace Hospital. A casting news provided by TV Guide magazine hinted that actress Sarah Drew who has made guest starring roles on "", "" and "" will be part of "" fillers this season while some of the regulars are taking a leave.

Drew, according to the publication, will recur as April, one of the doctors from Mercy West Hospital which is merging with Seattle Grace. The collaboration begins in the October 15 episode called "Invasion" where "the residents of Seattle Grace and Mercy West vie for surgeries and their careers as day one of the hospital merger begins."

Those coming along Drew as part of the merger are Robert Baker, Jesse Williams and Nora Zehetner. Drew in particular has once guest starred on "Grey's" spin-off "" as Judy back in January.

Expected to be absent from the screen meanwhile are who had left since the beginning of season 6, who is committed to her feature movie project, and who has just given birth to her first child and is taking a maternity leave.

Just an alert:

Starting Monday, September 21, Special Victims Unit will be starting its run of older episodes in five-day-a-week syndication on over-the-air stations across the country (check local listings for the time and channel in your area).  This run of episodes will start with "Payback," the original 1999 pilot episode, with through at least October 1, the first nine episodes running in their original order.

These episodes will also be airing early Monday through Friday at 4:00 AM ET/PT on USA Network (late Sunday through Thursday in the USA Network listings).

As for me.I can only watch what's on CBS & CW for now, later after the leaves go off the trees I'll be able to get my local PBS station as all I have for now is over the air TV. For reasons best known to higher ups, The Co. that Manages my Apt. Complex turned off the Cable in the Day room 3 wks ago this comming Thurs. No reason given. They also turned off the Complex Mgr's Computer Connection from the same source. I suspect it has a lot to do w/ what Time- Warner charges. My Town is soon to enter into negotations for the cable franchise in this Town & will be seeking among other things, A  Sr. Cit. discount on the cable rates. They may have give up their franchise fee ( $3 per Subscriber) to get this deal.

See YA!!!!

If it is a group or website relating to the purpose of this group, then you can
post out ONLY 1 message telling us about it with the link and then put that link
in the links section of the group (the links section is available for anyone to
view).

Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy my group!

ll TV Scorecard: Which Shows Are Returning? Which Aren't?

Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Ali Larter (Heroes) and Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse)

With the networks poised to begin unveiling their plans for the 2009-10 TV season, we thought it time to begin keeping tabs on exactly which shows have earned a pick-up, which have already gotten the hook, and which are still in a state of limbo. We're focusing on the major broadcast networks, to keep things simple.
The Not Yet Renewed category includes some no-brainers — yeah, as if CBS would snuff any of its CSIs! — but until each network announces their double-secret, official prime-time plan, each of those shows shall remain put, before being assigned a different fate.
The list of series awaiting renewal breaks down each show's outlook for earning a spot on its network's line-up — GOOD, FAIR or POOR, based on ratings performance, the latest buzz and other considerations (such as Jay Leno claiming five NBC prime-time hours for himself). Those designations can change daily (or even hourly) throughout the coming weeks, depending on new intel.
Check back often — and follow TV Guide on Twitter —  for renewal/cancellation updates as they happen.

Stewing Stewart creams Cramer, CNBC

No bailout for Mad Money's Jim Cramer and CNBC as Daily Show's Jon Stewart holds
them to claims.

If there's one thing great that's come out of this financial high-dive into an
empty pool it was last night's interview/confrontation of CNBC personality Jim
Cramer by The Daily Show's Jon Stewart. For the past week and a half, Stewart
has been calling out the finance network for contributing to the economic mess,
and it came to a head last night.

Cramer, host of the bizarre stock-swapping show Mad Money, answered the invite
to appear on The Daily Show after he and Stewart engaged in some back-and-forth
on both CNBC and Comedy Central, and Stewart didn't let him off the hook.

Stewart's main objection with the network has been the way it has handled the
financial implosion and stirred the pot of "fast money" by not exposing "the
game" that Wall Street and it's ticker-tape-waving masses perpetuate.

"I understand you want to make finance entertaining," Stewart told Cramer. "But
it's not a f***ing game. When I watch that, I can't tell you how angry that
makes me. Because what it says to me is… you all know."

To his credit, Cramer sat in the hot seat for the entire interview and seemed
apologetic--almost like a kid being caught with his hand in the cookie
jar--saying he's tried to do the right thing and has created a show meant to
entertain a certain demographic caught up in the light-speed money market. We
won't know if Stewart's words will leave a lasting impression on Cramer, CNBC,
or any of Wall Street's lecherous suits, but one thing's for sure: Stewart is
proving himself to be this generation's best journalist--no matter how reluctant
he may be--who isn't afraid of anyone or anything.

For the final two minutes of the interview, head over to ComedyCentral.com.

ComedyCentral.com has seen a major boom because of the squabble, with Stewart's
original (and both hilarious and informative) CNBC rant being streamed 1.3
million times as of Wednesday.

Mischa Barton hits CW's catwalk

Model-turned-actress will act like a model for A Beautiful Life; Scrubs' Donald
Faison joins LAPD.

Like her or loathe her, Mischa Barton is returning to television. The
23-year-old actress has signed on to play a major role in the upcoming CW drama
The Beautiful Life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Barton gained fame as Marissa Cooper in Josh Schwartz's teen soap The O.C., but
when that show ended in 2006, Barton avoided television, opting instead to star
in various indie and low-budget films. Her star remained shiny, however, thanks
to the paparazzi, her choice in boyfriends, and a late-2007 DUI and marijuana
possession charge.

In The Beautiful Life, Barton will play a model on the verge of seeing her
career slip into decline. The premise of the show sounds like a scripted
America's Next Top Model/Real World hybrid: a group of models live together in a
New York City apartment. I think it's safe to say the program will be a drama.
The show is being produced by Ashton Kutcher (like/loathe, part two).

Actor Donald Faison has found his post-Scrubs gig. The actor, who currently
plays Dr. Chris Turk on ABC's hospital comedy, will swap his stethoscope for a
gun and badge as part of ABC's The Law with Cedric the Entertainer. The comedy
follows a group of reserve LAPD officers.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea: Rubik, the Amazing Cube

     * By Jeff Sparkman
     * 03/13/09 12:54 PM

This week's gem is a cartoon about one of the world's most popular toys--but
this one grows a face and stubby legs.

A cartoon about a magical Rubik's Cube? What could possibly go wrong? Science
fiction author Theodore Sturgeon is credited with the revelation commonly
referred to as Sturgeon's Law: "Ninety percent of everything is crap."

Nowhere is this illustrated better than the Saturday morning cartoons I watched
in the late 1970s and '80s. That said, I do have an odd affection for them,
which, I suppose, is why I write things like this.

But I digress.

Imagine that in the 1970s, some animation studio made a cartoon about the Pet
Rock. "Oh, don't be ridiculous," you're probably thinking. "That's just patently
stupid." And yet in 1983, Ruby-Spears Productions unleashed "Rubik, the Amazing
Cube" on an unsuspecting public.

A mysterious horse-drawn carriage rolls down the road, a gas lamp on its rear.
The carriage hits a bump, and a treasure chest falls out, crashing to the ground
below. Inside is a Rubik's Cube with its colors jumbled. A group of kids finds
the cube, and when one of them solves it, the cube levitates, grows a face and
legs. Oh, and it shoots out a tractor beam that carts them along with it as it
flies away from the man driving the carriage.

And that's in just the first few seconds of the theme song, which, by the way,
was performed by Menudo.

Rubik is a magical Rubik's Cube, and pretty much every episode revolves around
him using his various powers until they're actually needed, at which point Rubik
gets all jumbled up, which renders him powerless. Apparently Rubik's technology
is a precursor to the transporters on "Star Trek."

Rubik's kid friends have to solve him in time to fix the episode's problem,
which usually involves Rubik learning something about humanity, like how
important it is not to slouch or that you shouldn't talk to strangers. And when
I say every episode, I mean every episode.

Sure, I'm talking smack about this now, but I have to admit that I did watch it
as a kid. I wouldn't say I liked it, but it was on ABC, the same channel that
played "Super Friends," and I didn't usually change the channel until
"Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends" came on NBC.

See, kids, you do pay the price for being lazy.

The funny part is that though the cartoon was essentially a half-hour-long
commercial for the Rubik's Cube, it hit Saturday mornings well after every kid
had a cube of his or her own, whether they wanted one or not. I had long since
solved mine; it's amazing what you can do with a butter knife and a little
determination.

While this ran for a whole season, only 12 episodes were made. The shows were
innocuous enough, even if the premise itself was shamelessly commercial even for
Saturday mornings.

I'm just disappointed there wasn't an episode where Rubik teamed up with the
Magic Snake.

NBC's summer has sizzle, but more fizzle

     * By Tim Surette
     * 03/13/09 4:13 PM
The Philanthropist cashes in in June, but four-nights a week of I'm a Celebrity…
Get Me Out of Here is overkill.

Remember last year's NBC summer lineup? Centered around the Olympics, NBC went
all red-white-and-blue with "NBC's All-American Summer," which included American
Gladiators and Nashville Star. The network pushed its lineup hard, presumably
while wearing an Uncle Sam mask and holding sparklers, but both of those shows
are long buried.

So what's in store for this summer from NBC? Not much better from the looks of
it. NBC is assaulting our senses into submission with the comeback of I'm a
Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, in which 10 "celebrities" are plopped down in the
jungle and left to fend for themselves (or at least as much as producers would
like us to believe they are).

And NBC--which calls this a "bold scheduling move"--isn't simply trickling the
show out; Get Me Out of Here will get the Jay Leno treatment and air four nights
a week (from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.) for the first three weeks of June (I repeat: four
nights a week!!), and only (only!) three night for its final week. The
participating celebrities will be announced at a later time.

The network is also holding back the finales of Medium, Law & Order: Special
Victims Unit, and Law & Order until the first week of June to provide a boost
for the debut of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

America's Got Talent returns June 23 for its fourth season. NBC is also trotting
out two miniseries: UK import Merlin, about the famed wizard, and Meteor, about
a gigantic space rock that threatens Earth.

NBC does have a few scripted programs ready for debut during the hot months. The
Listener will debut on June 4, and The Philanthropist finally premieres June 24
(it was originally planned for midseason). The Listener centers on a paramedic
who also happens to be telepathic, and The Philanthropist follows a billionaire
who goes incognito to help those less fortunate.

Summer used to be a time networks threw away, but things have changed since the
family vacation went out of style (and became too expensive). NBC spent much of
last year talking about abandoning the traditional fall/midseason format in
favor of year-round programming, and now it's come to this? How the mighty have
fallen.

NBC's summer schedule is below.

Monday, June 1
I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!--premiere (8-9 p.m.)
Medium season finale (10-11 p.m.)

Tuesday, June 2
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit--season finale (10-11 p.m.)

Ousted American Idols look into the future

     * By BuzzSugar

Jorge Nunez and Jasmine Murray may be done with Fox's reality competition, but
they sure as heck aren't done singing.

From BuzzSugar.com:

Last week, American Idol welcomed a bonus contestant into its final round, but
this week, two members of the top 13 were sent packing. On Thursday, Jasmine
Murray and Jorge Nunez chatted with reporters about their Idol exits and what's
next for them.

--Both of them are headed back to school. Jasmine's a junior in high school,
while Jorge's a college student looking to become a lawyer. Both said they'll
continue on with their studies.

--But they both plan to keep singing. "Music is my priority now," said Jorge,
while Jasmine said she wants a career in music after college: "It's really where
my heart is."

--They think the new "judges' save" is just fine--even though it didn't help
them. Jorge said that after he first heard of the twist, he figured it would be
something like this rule, which will allow the judges to save one competitor one
time this season. "I kind of imagined it was going to be something like that,
being that this year there's so much talent in the show," he said. Jasmine said
she had faith up till the end that the judges might use the save on her, but
"they probably wanted to save it, so that's OK with me."

Hello. This is sent out each month to members to make them aware of list
rules and to answer any questions you may have.

1. Why did my post not appear in the message archives?

mail/forwards within this group.

Forwards are only
accepted if they are for the purpose of the group, for example forwarding a
news article from elsewhere (however, the source should be clearly stated in the
message).
