Surprised no one else noted it earlier, though I had just found this out when I wrote it:
According to an article at The Live Feed (http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/10/nbc-schedule-sh.html), NBC is making some shifts in its schedule and has now moved up the scheduled season 19 premiere of the original "Law & Order" from it's originally planned start in January to a week from this coming Wednesday, November 5 (the day after Election Day) in it's traditional time slot. Apparently, "Lipstick Jungle," which had been given that time slot was under performing badly enough that NBC has now banished it to Fridays at 10:00 PM ET/PT, clearing the way for NBC to bring back "L & O" in it's normal Wednesday 10:00 PM ET/PT slot two months earlier than originally planned.
