There is always the EZboard forums we have, that is a good place for people
to post they have tickets and for others to request them.
You all paid for it, you might as well use it. ;)

I'd like to introduce another question. Last screening a number of us
took on the task of trying to match tickets with people. It was very
rewarding but a lot of work, especially for Heather who got a LOT of
emails. I'd be willing to help out again but I am going to be in NYC
for the last week of July, which may be when the screening is. I can't
speak for Heather but I'm not sure she wants to take on the task again.
Can we figure out a way to do it online, here or quietly on the Cdn.
Browncoats group, so that it is essentially self running?
I belong to a group that used to be Freecycle. If people have something
that they want to get rid of, they put in the subject "OFFER" If it
is then taken, they put that in the subject. If someone wants something
they put "WANTED" in the subject. The thing is, people email to the
person posting. If you had an extra ticket, say, you posted it. Then
whoever needed it, wrote to you. You could give it to the first person,
or the last or the one answering the skill testing question. All up to
you.
Aside from the initial posting, this all takes place off the list.
Do you think it would work?

Hi everyone,
We need to make a few decission about things.
What do you all want to do for the movie premiere shindig?
Keep in mind we may be lucky and get another advance screening before
Sept. 30 so I don't know how hyped you are all going to be when the
final product actually comes out.
The most difficult part of making any plans is that, we have no ideas
what theatres it is going to be playing in. Even the booking office
doesn't know and won't until a day or two before.
Paramount downtown is a good bet as it has so many screens. You may
be sick of it by then a that is where any further screenings most
likely will take place.
If we do decide to plan something near the Paramount and take our
chances, what do you want to do? I know people have already told me
they want to have the movie and shindig on Saturday, Oct. 1 so that
part is set.
Do you want a late afternoon show followed by a night out at a pub or
restaurant and maybe find a club to dance at later?
Do you want a private party room with catered food in a hotel
somewhere downtown and maybe a DJ or karaoke? That will all cost you
a lot more but it may be fun. I'm thinking as much as $50 - $60 per
person plus your hotel room if you need one.
I will put up a poll.
Let me all know what you want to do and a few of us will look into
places for you.

I am planning a BBQ/Picnic for friends at Sunnybrook park.
I am also inviting other groups I belong to (OBAVA, Fanforce Toronto etc)
More info
Date: Sunday Aug 7th 2005
Time: 11:00am - ??
Place: Sunnybrook Park (Actually Serena Gundy Park see map) Although
we did not reserve the site, we can usually set up our barbecue
somewhere in the area.
You: Everyone brings their own food and buns needed as well as one
thing to share with everyone else.
Me: We'll bring the barbecue, charcoal, condiments, cutlery, cups,
plates, and napkins. We usually bring a couple bags of 'munchies' and
some punch which we put on the 'communal' table - anything on that
table is available to all who attend.
You No 2: Bring a frisbee, baseball, baseball glove, football, water
pistol, or any other toy/game you would like to play, and we'll all
have a great time. Also, don't forget to bring protection from the
sun: a hat, sun screen/sun block, etc.
Other: Friends are welcome. This is a family type event so children
are welcome
Weather: If there is chance of rain it is recommended you show up
anyways since Yonge and Eglinton is close by and there are a lot of
restaurants for food and a movie theater there if people want to see a
movie.
Map: http://www.interlog.com/~ask/bbq.jpg
1. From Eglinton and Leslie (light blue X) go north
2. Turn left into park
3. Immediately to teh right is a parking lot (Yellow square)
4. Proceed to the fork in the road and go to the right

By car this would take about 2 minutes to drive
7. park in parking lot and go to the footpath at the end of the
parking lot
8. Cross the suspension bridge (purple)
9. Walk along path at the (Red X) there is a fork in the path. Chose

Melanie from Vancouver will be here at the end of July. Serena is
also here at some point but the days escape me right now.
Melanie was wondering if people would like to get together with her
at some point. Actually, the friend she was supposed to stay with
has other plans so she will be free for a while if people want to get
together with her on their own as well.
We where talking about the evening of Sunday, July 31 (it's a long
weekend so you can sleep in Monday). We thought about hanging out on
the outside patio at Fionn McCools for the evening and possibly a
cheapy movie at the Rainbow Cinemas beforehand.
Or we could go out the holiday Monday for brunch or maybe early
dinner.
Any thoughts or feedback on this?
Our own Jedisix got a real nice tournout from the Vancouver folks
when he visited them and I would love to do the same in return.
Let me know what works best for all of you. I will put up a Poll.

For anyone who plans to stay late at Fionn McCools on Saturday, there
is a celtic band called Skraeling playing from 10pm onwards.
Apparently they are very good.
Some of us have decided (very last minute) to meetup this Saturday, May
28 for dinner.
We are meeting at Fionn McCools at 6:00pm at 70 The Esplanade in
downtown Toronto. If you have never been before, the food is really
good.
If you would like to join us, please email me at:
canadianbrowncoats@... as I will need to make reservations.
There is pay parking directly across the street and cheaper pay parking
just a bit east on the Esplanade if you don't mind walking a block or
two.
Hope to see you there!

A few of you have emailed me to say you won't be joining us for Star
Wars but would like to join us for dinner after.
The movie starts at 3:30pm and is supposed to be 2 hours and 26
minutes long plus commercials and trailers on top of that.
I think it would be safe to meetup about 6:10pm. Please meet us
just coming out of the theatre, between the book store and theatre
box office entrance in the hallway. We can all head out together
from there.
I will make reservations somewhere if I know how many of you will be
joining us after for dinner. Please email me at
canadianbrowncoats@... for dinner only.
If you are going to both the movie and dinner and have bought your
ticket, please RSVP on the Polls at:

Just a reminder -
OUR NEXT EVENT
Saturday, May 21
Star Wars: Episode 3
Silver City Yonge and Eglinton
(2300 Yonge) Show time: 3:30pm
Meet at 2:55pm with ticket in hand
in between book store and theatre entrance.
I strongly suggest you buy our tickets online
in advance through www.famousplayers.com
PLEASE RSVP ON THE POLLS when you have your ticket:
http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/canadianbrowncoats/
I'm not sure if there are any restrictions about how many online
tickets they will sell for a movie. i.e., do they only sell X amount
online and then leave the rest for walk-ins at the threatre?
In any case, if you do plan to come with us, I would suggest buying
the ticket online beforehand while you can. This way you won't be
disappointed as it is the opening weekend and should get a crowd.
We have 6-7 coming so far. Hope more of you can make it.

For fans in Toronto, we really need to band together to get
something done ASAP.
I am going to put a thread up on www.serenitymovie.com in the
General section. The thread will be about us wishing we had a
screening in Toronto and wouldn't it be cool if Joss came to SFX.
I need you to respond and get other Torontians to respond and to
keep the thread up, but not with a lot of useless bumping if you get
my drift. It needs to looks as though there is a huge interest in
Serenity and Joss here in Toronto by lots of fans, not just two or
three bumping the thread.

I've heard rumblings that the trailer is Not attached to HGG but we've
all see the trailer already, right? It would be great to see it on the
big screen though. Ah well. An excuse for another shindig - as though
we need an excuse!.
Hope you can make it, Heather. It isn't a shindig without you!

Hi everyone,

however, I have had at least 20-24 say they are coming.
In order for us to know who to look out for, it would be greatly
