I so agree, here. The writers have made Sam this pathetic, whiny,
cry baby figure, mooning over a General, who is old enough to be her
father, and who should know better. Which to my mind is not how an
USAAF Lt Colonel should act. I may be wrong, but I don't think so.

I cannot believe that RCC has written such drabble, I mean, his
previous work has been so good, he has in the past written well for
all the team, including some of Daniel's best lines. [those that are
not ad libed]

It's bad enough that the writers cannot get the correct mythology
right, and when asked for help or whatever, don't even say thanks,
nice of you to do this for me or anything.

I was so enjoying S8 as well, the old team was back, Sam didn't even
cry in Lockdown, she was the Col that we hoped she would be.
I can understand them having to tone down 'SuperSam' but to go to
such patheticness is beyond me.
Maybe the writers should take a look at Seasons 1-3, and get some
brilliant idea's.
And definatly do some research on their Mythology, or lets face it
ask someone who knows what they are talking about.
