Since getting my tivo hd a couple months ago I've been amazed at all
it can do, but I guess it's not perfect. I trusted tivo to record the
special one hour episode of "the office" broadcast after the super
bowl. Tivo wasn't aware the program started at 9:40 instead of the
9:30 scheduled time so I missed the end of the show. Maybe tivo should
work on basic functionality like delayed network broadcasts before
they add anymore bells and whistles.

Best,
Tom

Tivo has no way to know that a live broadcast like a football game goes long. That is what the padding option is for. I know for me that a lot of shows I may...

I doubt you will see that anytime soon. The broadcast industry has no good reason to try to help DVRs. in fact, they go out of their way many times to try to...

I hear you Brian. What's technically simple may be politically impossible. In the mean time I'll have to take your advice to add some time to my timers after...

I remember having a VCR one thing that did attempt to handle commercials, but I think they got sued. They took the idea that during commercials you have a...

I really liked the commercial advance feature, I believe the networks had the spots marked so that the local station could insert the local ads. I wonder if...

It's probably coming, but not quite here yet. Remember when you had to look at the newspaper or actual TV Guide for the whole week ? Yea, my in-laws still do...

Thanks for all your replies guys! I agree, on the fly recording time correction is probably coming. It's got to be on someone's to-do list. This is basic...

I'm just guessing here, but I think that is the least likely option. My impression is that broadcasters are not interested in assisting with recording options,...
