There is still an option within Tivo to "save to VCR", and you can get DVD
burners for reasonable prices these days. I have burned a few things I
wanted to save to DVD this way, it's not perfect, probably not as slick as
the built in option the Humax offers, but it does work.
Some research to find out which burner might coordinate and make the process
automatic (my old Sony Tivo would do this with Sony DVD burners) would be
good, but I don't know if the HD box offers this function.
The last resort may be Tivo Desktop, I know the basic version allows you to
use your computer to store shows, and you can move them back to the regular
tivo to watch again later, there are programs available to convert the .tivo
file to something else watchable without the MAK and the associated codec
files, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Plus version didn't offer DVD
burning as an option, I know you can move to other type video players like
iPods with Plus.
