HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Alert from the Babylon 5 Scripts Team: Babylon5scripts.com has
adjusted the proof-of-purchase requirement to earn volume 15. The

As a side note, order numbers can be found in the confirmation emails

KEEPING UP WITH CAST AND CREW
PETER WOODWARD
One reader sent along this report: Peter Woodward was also just
recently on Showtime's SLEEPER CELL, in the final episode. The series
is going to re-air at some time later this year, so people can be on
the lookout for Peter in that.
Ranger Steven reports that PETER WOODWARD (Galen on Crusade) guest
stars on an episode of Stargate Atlantis that's coming up in the back
half of this season. He plays the Chamberlain to the Lord Protector in
the episode "The Tower."

NEW DVDS COMING
THE FLASH
One of my favorite superheros is finally coming to DVD. THE FLASH will
be released by Warner Bros. on January 10. The Flash The Complete
Series, featuring all 22 episodes making up the entire live-action
television series, is now available on DVD and video. Fans of The
Flash, the lightning-fast DC Comics super hero portrayed by John
Wesley Shipp, can preview this DVD (including its exclusive DVD
extras) with a synopsis and video clips, and can also check out The
Flash downloadables, including wallpapers, buddy icons and
screensavers at http://www.warnervideo.com/theflashdvd/.
The Cast of the Flash DVD
John Wesley Shipp – Police Crime Technologist Barry Allen, The Flash
Amanda Pays - Medical Researcher Tina McGee
Criminal Villains include The Trickster, Captain Cold, The Ghost and more.
SUMMARY
Who-o-o-o-osh! The origins and exploits of the crime fighting DC
Comics super hero come your way at lightning speed in this 22-episode
live-action series. John Wesley Shipp portrays Barry Allen, a police
crime technologist endowed with sudden talents after a fluke lab
accident. He pledges to use his new powers for good, powers that
include ultra-speed reflexes and the ability to vibrate his molecules
so rapidly he can pass through solid walls. Amanda Pays is medical
researcher Tina McGee, who monitors Allen's accelerated metabolism and
guards his secret identity. The Trickster, Captain Cold, the Ghost,
mad inventors: Central City is rife with criminals. Now there's a hero
to keep pace with them. He's called The Flash. And in our era of
instant communications, he's more in step with the times than ever.
Series was positioned as a release to celebrate the DC Comics
character's 50th Anniversary. The Flash had an appropriately campy
style, comic-book look and great special effects (running in super
speed) for its time.
INSIDE THE WORLD OF SCIENCE FICTION
SUPERMAN RETURNS
As the release of this much anticipated film nears, Warner Brothers
has released four new images from writer/director Bryan Singer's
upcoming SUPERMAN RETURNS movie. Go to SCI FI Wire's Photo Gallery to
see the new images of star Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel, Kate
Bosworth as Lois Lane, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor and Parker Posey as
Kitty Koslowski. Here's how Warner describes SUPERMAN RETURNS, the
fifth film in the current series:
Superman returns to Earth following a mysterious absence of several
years, while an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for
all. Superman also faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman
he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life. Or has she?
Superman's bittersweet return challenges him to bridge the distance
between them while finding a place in a society that has learned to
survive without him. In an attempt to protect the world he loves from
cataclysmic destruction, Superman embarks on an epic journey of
redemption that takes him from the depths of the ocean to the far
reaches of outer space.
SUPERMAN RETURNS opens June 30. For all the information about the
movie, go to http://supermanreturns.warnerbros.com/.
SPIDER-MAN 3:
According to reports, principal photography starts next week for
SPIDER-MAN 3. James Franco (Harry Osborne) said in a recent interview
that the cast had already done a script reading, but he was mum on
whether or not Harry will become more villainous in the third film.
The movie is expected to film in the New York area from May through
September. Columbia Pictures is targeting a May 4, 2007 release date
for Spider-Man 3. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are back as well,
with Thomas Haden Church on board as Sandman and Topher Grace playing
a mysterious role.
X-MEN 3 and WOLVERINE
In an interview with "Entertainment Weekly", Hugh Jackman talks about
X-MEN 3 and his upcoming WOLVERINE spin-off. He indicates that the
success of X-MEN and X-MEN 2 have allowed them to get even more
creative with the upcoming movie. He says, "..there's some sequences
there that the fans -- if you go to that midnight screening on the
first night, they'll just be going ballistic. There's some specific
choreography, famous fighting moves, that we use in this movie that we
haven't been able to do before."
GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS
Evangeline Lilly (Lost), Virginia Madsen, Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man),
and Hilary Swank will present at the 63rd annual Golden Globe Awards,
to be telecast live on NBC Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the Hollywood
Foreign Press Association announced. The awards ceremony will take
place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The new
presenters join the previously announced Jessica Alba, Leonardo
DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, Jamie Foxx, Natalie Portman, Emmy Rossum,
John Travolta, Emma Thompson and Denzel Washington. Anthony Hopkins
will receive this year's Cecil B. DeMille Award for his outstanding
contribution to the entertainment field.
DISNEY/PIXAR NEWS
Variety reports that rumors of a possible deal between Disney and
Pixar, the animation company behind The Incredibles and Finding Nemo,
sent the company's stock soaring, though it's still unclear whether it
is simply a renewal of the Disney-Pixar distribution agreement or if
Disney would be taking a stake in the firm.
DVD NEWS
This week there has been a lot of talk about DVD format. At the
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the race is on for which
next-generation DVD format consumers will prefer, and studios have
started announcing their first wave of titles that will be released at
both the launch of Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD.
Titles announced for Blu-ray already include UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION,
from Paramount FOUR BROTHERS, SAHARA, AEON FLUX, SKY CAPTAIN, the
WORLD OF TOMORROW and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: III alongside MISSION:
IMPOSSIBLE and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2. These titles will also be
available for HD DVD, the format competing with Blu-ray, which the
studio supports as well. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's
initial titles include FANTASTIC FOUR, THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY
GENTLEMEN, BEHIND ENEMY LINES, KISS OF THE DRAGON and ICE AGE along
with others that will bring Fox's total number of first wave releases
to 20 titles. Warner Home Video will add BATMAN BEGINS, CHARLIE AND
THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, CONSTANTINE, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, THE LAST
SAMURAI, LETHAL WEAPON, THE MATRIX, TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES
and more.
On the HD DVD side, the dates are more specific. Warner Bros. will
release BATMAN BEGINS and CONSTANTINE on March 28, with SUPERMAN
RETURNS also on the way this year.
FIREFLY
Yesterday's episodes of the FIREFLY series marked the end of this run
at the SCIFI network. Let's hope that the network can revisit airing
the series -- along with other favorites like BABYLON 5.
