According to an article in the Sunday, September 4th Lincoln
Journal-Star federal authorities may ask Omaha and Lincoln (first and
second largest Nebraska cities) to house hurricane survivors. I don't
know where in Lincoln they would put them, though my father thinks the
State Fair Grounds would work.

wow, that seems like a long way away, but these people have to go
somewhere. kudos to your state if they take some in.

Omaha is ready to house up to 500 people in the Civic Auditorium. I
haven't heared of any plans Lincoln has however the City Mission here
in Lincoln plans to bring a few families themeselves. They will only
take people who don't have a criminal record. They don't want any
dangerous people living with the other people at the Mission. Our Lt.
Governor is in charge of disaster managment in Nebraska, so he's the
person FEMA will notify if evacuees are sent to Nebraska. Then he will
notify the local Red Cross that the people are coming.

The Nebraska Red Cross says that there are 200-300 hurricane evacuees
who brought themselves to Nebraska, most of whom have relatives here.
They also they've received about half a million dollars in donations.
None from me, I'll give through church which will send the money to a
church in the one of the hurricane states which will give the money to
members effected by the hurricane. This way I can be sure 100% goes to
people in need.

Our Lt Governor was placed in charge of disaster management so he'll
have something to do. Three times the state legislature has tried to
amend the Nebraska constitution to eliminate the office and three
times the majority of voters have voted against the amendment.  I
don't want the legislatures fighting over who becomes governor if
something happens to the governor. So I vote to keep the lt. governor.

i know we have had some evacuees, but i am not sure how many.  there's
a lot to be done for these people, it'll be something to see how they
respond to the choices they are given.

She's singer for Kamen Rider Stronger, not composer. Also Goranger and
  Ninja Kyaputer. And costarred in Uchu Tetsujin Kyodain [Space Ironmen
Kyodain] (1976) as Shirakawa, Etsuko a second lietuenant in the United
Nations Defense Force.

I don't know what the source is, but I got the DVD off ebay from a
seller in Taiwan. English language with optional English subtitles.
Had chapter stops, otherwise no bonus material. Defaults to starting
the movie with subtitles off.

Omaha did take in evacuees at the Civics Center. Now trying to find
private housing for them. Lincoln has been told to "stand down"
meaning apparently that Lincoln will not be asked to house evacuees.
The Mission is still planning on picking up 50-80 people on its own.
