Hi there Zee,
I was pleased to see your
response to my last letter, and yes I totally understand
time and things taking our time, I also know that I
don't manage my time as well as I could. I too like
being outside and reading it helps me absorb the
information better and I feel as though I have not missed
anything especially when the weather is so nice. I live
near Syracuse NY and weather is a big topic of
conversation so when it is nice I like being outside. The
weather here is not the most favorable but when that is
the case I find people appreciate nice days alot more
here than in a place that the sun shines all the time.
I am heading to mid-terms right now so most of my
time has to be for studying, but as of late I have
been under the weather, which began with what I
thought was a stiff neck but I have had slight fevors and
the muscle pain has spread I believe I have a sort of
cold in my muscles and glans in my back(maybe). I am
not in a financial position to go to a doctor and yet
if I could I don't know that I would! I believe they
would give me an antibiotic, and I really don't like to
take them unless absolutely neccessary. I am taking
echinacea with goldenseal, and vitamins C,E,B, so I am
hoping this will soon make me feel like myself.
Regarding the books I mentioned, James Redfield is the
author of the Celestine Prophecy, which continues with
the "The 10th Insight", and the "Celestine Vision" I
have not read all of these I do own them, but what I
loved about the reading of the first book was it was an
adventure that made the reader think deeply and your spirit
was touched. I feel changed from this journey. It is
a journey to find this manuscript of 9 insights,
and as each of the insights are discovered it entails
spiritually an awakening, along with danger for the narrator.
This is very hard to tell without giving away the
magic this book has. I would say it is an adventure in
every aspect of the word.
"A Conversation with
God", by Neale donald Walsch is a dialogue between the
author and God, and although this sounds absurd it
really touched me. I believe everyone who reads it will
know one way or another, the spirit within you (God's
presence) tells you this feels true, it really makes you
think and delve deep within yourself. This is also a
trilogy, and I feel it is necessary to have the second
book available as soon as you finish the first one for
you will want it not to end!! For me this book
brought me back to myself, to trust my spiritual beliefs
and to return to where I had been years before yet
wasn't confident enough as a person to stand my ground
as I can now! This is NOT a religious book, it is a
spiritual journey to oneself and to understand OUR
relationship with the creator..god ...goddess.. or however one
believes ...it can be for everyone at least for everyone
who reads it!!
Well I hope this helps you, and I
do hope when you get the time you will be able to
read these, and I will read the book you have
reccommended, which I have wanted to read for some time. I also
must comment on your job that has you sleeping in
tents that sounds so great to be in the outdoors away
from the everyday madness...I would enjoy an
experience like that!!
Well Zee take care hope all you
want to happen today does and may the SUN shine
brightly on you!!! Frangelique
Hi Frangelique, I haven't forgotten about you,
but you know how life can be!

I haven't read
either of the books you mentioned (Celestive Prophecy &
A conversation with God) but am quite interested in
both. Can you give me a synopsis of them? Believe me, I
understand about required reading! I took this last summer
off, and my classes just started last week, so I'm
just beginning to get back into the swing of things.
So far all my classes seem pretty easy, although I
heard today that my 4th class will be a bit more
difficult. I'll be going to it tomorrow night.

I have
about an hour between classes on MWF with nothing to
do...well, ok, I could do homework or studying, but I do
that best at a desk and that means the library and
that means curbing the smoking. (What a vicious, ugly
circle!) So, right now I'm taking that hour to sit quietly
under a tree and read some of the books I've mentioned.
I'm choosing to try to improve my spirit during that
hour. I have plenty of time at home to do homework and
don't get as much solitude at home. (Husband, grandson
and daughter always around)

Speaking of that,
yes, I've been married 16 years to a very
understanding husband. About 4 years ago I quit an extremely
stressful job...one that should have put me on disability
but I just don't think that way. My husband is
retired military and works part-time so we are struggling
with his two paychecks. I took a summer job for two
summers which required me to live in a tent at a
whitewater rafting camp. It was a marvelous time of
solitude, reading, thinking and changing. It was during
this experience that decided to go back to college.
Fortunately I haven't heard ONE word of complaint from my
husband about any decisions I've made.

We have 4
children, all grown with kids of their own. My husband and
I had two kids each when we met. My daughter is
living with us with her son. It actually works out great
for all of us. Her rent helps us with our bills and
of course it's not as much as an apartment.

And to answer your last question, I'm a scorpio. I'm
not sure if I believe in all that. Maybe if I had a
chart done for me personally...

I've decided to
get a certificate in Human Services. I've always been
interested in psychology. I didn't know if I "had it in me"
until I took a counseling course last semester. I mean,
counseling can really mess with peoples lives. Anyway, I was
telling the teacher that I'd chosen to go into computers
and she informed me, in no uncertain terms, that it
would be a great loss for the counseling field if I
didn't go into it. She said I had a distinct talent for
listening and helping people...so, this is what I am going
to explore. There are still many "issues" in my life
that I'd like to work out before I'm face to face with
a real "case", but I'm working on those.

So
many challenges, so many changes, so many things I
want to do...one day at a time...learn to love myself,
and enjoy each day.

Thanks for joining the
club!
Zee
Hi, It seems that you have a very familar point
of view and I too am proud of what I am
accomplishing. I agree it is scarey to think of the time that
has gone by and I would like to rid myself of all
vices that have any control over me. I did not read the
book but would like too, lately my classes have
required reading and alot of it so I haven't much time but
it is on the list of "to read-books". We have alot
in common it seems. Have you read "Celestine
Prophecy", by James Redfield? Or "A conversation with God"
(an uncommon dialogue), by Neale Donald Walsch? These
books have aided my way of thinking and in part brought
me back to some of my beliefs I had as a young
adult. At the time I wasn't secure in my thoughts or
convictions so people like my Dad, mom, or husband could sway
me, no longer I am stronger and I hold true to myself
and my beliefs. I am happy you and I connected it
seems that I was drawn here and to meet someone that
understands the weaknesses and strengths of the complicated
woman, without cutting her down or having expectations
of her beyond reach. I personally feel I have
answered to everyone but myself( with the exception of the
last 5-6 years) and as I have watched Oprah (although
this may sound selfish and bratty) I have learned
there are others with the same existance or lack of it,
and it seems to comfort me to know it!
I am sure
this letter is not written with the proper amount of
paragraphs and longer sentences then there should be, but
Zee if you don't mind neither do I !! SMILE it is a
good day to do so.
Where do you live (state)? I
will re-read your letter but I wanted to reply to your
letter ASAP. Are you married? Boyfirend? Kids? are you a
Scorpio, or Saggitarus? Are you working?

I am
presently submitting resumes, I quit my job at this Law
Office working with five Attorneys but it was unfair and
I had a hard time with the fact that I after 3
years was not entitled to a vacation of any sort, I did
get 3 raises but it wasn't enough. The fact that the
law doesn't always work the way we would like to see
was another obstacle I had a hard time with. My goal
is to do work that fulfills me in many aspects. I
want to know I am doing good for others. I am majoring
in Business Administration and minoring in History
(which I love more than Business). My goal is to work
for a company that does make a difference and someday
I would like to open a Holistic Retreat but
focusing on the middle class, for if they were aligned
(Mind, Body and Spirit) I feel they would experience a
more fulfilling life and the workplace would be a more
productive and harmonious place to be. I think there are
many Holistic retreats but they are aimed at those who
can afford the luxury, and it is sad our world would
be a much better place to live in if ALL had the
ammenities to work with as the priveledged do. I would also
like to write a book or two from poetry to History,
and maybe teach History on a college level. Sounds
like I should be in my 20's huh?? I will do what it is
I was meant to!! I also have learned to allow the
Universe to present to me opportunities that I may have
otherwise overlooked in the past because I felt I always
needed to know and control my destiny. I do know many
things are overlooked when one doesn't see the signs,
the gifts that are right there.
Well my new
friend I am hoping your day is going well. I am taking
it easy today for Monday I will begin changing the
eating habits that are so easy to fall back on as I have
again. So good, we both will embark on this journey with
a new friend having her may indeed enforce the
strength we need to keep our focus but it is ok to fumble
we both need to know to always forgive ourselves.
Blessings sent your way, Zee.... Frangelique...Keep smiling
:)
Hi Frangelique,
I'm sort of in the same boat
as you. I will be 42 in November...I'm overweight by
about 50lbs, (ok, maybe more) have been actively trying
to quit smoking for the last 3 years and am a
full-time college student (Well, community college, but
it's a start! I made the Deans list too!!)
It kind
of seems like life is creeping up on me and between
being overweight and smoking, I don't know if I'll be
able to enjoy a new career once college is
done!
Yes, Oprah, her show and my own drive towards an
authentic self has brought me to this stage in my life. I
truely believe I need to learn to love myself and as
that self-love comes, a sense of peace and daily
accomplishments will help me overcome the smoking and weight. I
believe if I take it one day at a time, working toward
goals and self-love, I will eventually reach my full
potential.
I could write whole lot of "preachy" things about
what I believe, but let me just say that you and I and
others out there like us have taken some major steps in
our lives and gone through some major changes. Don't
take these things lightly! Although I still have
smoking and my weight to go, I am and will rejoice in my
courage to return to school. It's all just one step
closer to learning to love myself.

I'd love to
know you...what you're studying, how you're doing...or
anything you want to discuss. The Oprah show has lots of
things I'd like to comment on or talk about. Have you
read the "Seat of the Soul"? or Dr. McGraws books?
What did you think?

Anyway, I'm glad you're
here.
Zarlene (but just call me Zee)
Hi there, I am going to be 42 in a week or so,
and i have yo-yoed with my weight all of my life. I
have lost 30lbs in the past year but I do have a long
way to go (at least I feel I do). I am a widow and a
full time college student that just made the dean's
list, and yet no matter what I do accomplish my weight
and smoking are 2 big problems. I am not sure how
this works but I am here to encourage and possibly to
get encouragement. I love how Oprah has evolved and
the loving soul she has, so her show just touches me
and inspires me. I like the angel network, as well as
feed your spirit, it has targeted the direction I have
gone in the past 5 years or so, that is one of the
reasons I decided to connect with one or more of the
blessed souls in this club. Although I am not sure of
where it will lead I do know I could use help and I
would be more than happy to HELP!! So thank-you for
reading this and feel free to contact me at the hot mail
address I have enclosed or post it here I would be more
than happy to connect with you or any others who want
to help each other...Take Care, and keep the Sun in
your heart.. Frangelique

hmm sounds very interesting. I really like that
idea. It just may work, although I think that it would
work even better in your own neighbourhood. Perhaps we
could start up groups in each area.

Just my
thoughts.

Peace
me
In Oprah's mag, she mentions a "Spa Girls
Club"...I would like to start one up! I know we all live in
different parts of the country, but maybe we could try it
online? Let me know what you think about this idea...I
may have to start a club myself, named The Spa Girls
Club and target it for my specific neighborhood. But,
I am excited about doing this! I, for one, need to
get in shape! I also need new ways of rekindling my
spirit, starting new friendships, having people to whom I
am accountable to and just a neat way to enjoy life
and the people in it! Does this sound like something
you would be interested in? Let me
know...salongirl@...
