Most of us know that Conflict is the only post-75 week that no longer
airs, since it was banned after its April 1-5, 1996 airing. However,
Wikipedia claims that Conflict had one more airing after that: Nov. 12-
16, 2001, and that it aired because of 9/11. Does anyone know if that
is correct? Did Conflict air, at least on some PBS stations that
week? It would make sense, since Veterans Day was Sunday, Nov. 11, and
because the holiday fell on Sunday, some companies would close on
Monday, Nov. 12 in lieu of the holiday, so at least some parents would
have the day off, and be home to watch Conflict with their kids. And,
obviously the topic of Conflict is appropriate for Veterans Day. But
the vast majority of parents would have been working, since,
unfortunately, most businesses do not close for Veterans Day anymore.
And I've never heard anywhere else that Conflict aired then.
