BBC West Midlands Radio have said that apparently Noel Gordon's Grave
is in a very bad state.
Ed Doolan the DJ said he will be notifying the appropriate people
about how bad her grave is.
(thanks to John Brayne who informed CAS of the news)
Bit sad really, I know for a long time people from CAS did go and
make it look nice ect, but I don't think there is anyone in the area
who can really keep an eye on it. Well at least there are still
people within the BBC who think Noele should have a bit more respect.
Shame no one at Carlton-Central think the same way.
You know, as you do, you're searching the net and suddenly something
is found that you're quite surprised at. And this one is to do with
Nolly!
http://www.bdtg.fsnet.co.uk/new_page_8.htm
This page lists the Birmingham & District Theatre Guild Awards. And
there is The Noele Gordon Trophy for most outstanding female
performance.
Nice to see that all these years on her name is still one associated
with her dedication to acting!

Trust me to look at this too late! LOL! I only buy soap mags if
there's anything of interest.

I am and can't believe she'll have been gone 20 years next year. It
was lovely seeing clips last night on When Soaps Changed The World.
Dear Channel 4,
How about a programme about Noele Gordon and replacing Friends with
Crossroads?
Patsy
It is a shame she's not around. Especially to see how popular she
still is 24 years after she left Crossroads.
Apparently there is something in this months Inside Soap about the
Soap and Glory programme. But its just what I've been told so I can't
say more than that.

Ooh great news! Though *when* it gets shown (after all that 80's
Mania thing tonight has been on the shelves for 3 years!) it'll
probably be on after 10pm.
Patsy
Thanks Mike, can't wait to hear of further news and watch the finished article!
Probably has taken them so long as they are still ashamed of the terribly shabby
way they treated Noele

Well as television schedules and programmes can sometimes be dumped I
can't say that 100% this will be shown, but Granada Television are
making a programme called Soap And Glory.
The Appreciation Society has give some help to the programme for a
tribute to Noele. They say they want to show how popular she was, and
how with her at the helm Crossroads often beat Coronation Street to
the top spot.
They also wanted to know the year she won most glam woman on TV -
which we believe was 1980, the year she also was voted best dressed
person on TV and had a range of clothes out in the shops under the
title of "the Noele Gordon Collection" (I wonder how many people still
have a Noele Gordon in their wardrobe?)
Anyway if I hear anymore about the show I'll let you know - its about
time ITV paid tribute to her seen as the BBC did in 1991.

HI - I have a rare 1979 ATV programme featuring the great Noele
Gordon answering questions from a fierce array of critics. She
defends Crossroads beautifully and its a marvellous programme. She
also arrives and leaves the studio in her Rolls Royce. If anyone is
interested in a copy of this rare programme - you can contact me via
gus_honeybun_1961@.... Cheers, John.

Have now added a joint interview with Gordon Jackson, conducted after
they both won TV Times Top 10 awards in 1975 for the previous year.
Was going to separate them but couldn't be bothered.
Patsy
I'm sure a few of you here will be members of the Crossroads
Appreciation Society.
Well Meg's Motel, is up and running, well there is a lot more to add
but it'll be bringing a lot of the items the Appreciation Society
have in storage to the public via the website.
There is a link to it on the man Crossroads Fan Club site, however in
true mike style i've forgotten the URL!
Hopefully tho it'll be a good site to the "memory of Meg and her
motel" The Crossroads Appreciation Society returns!
If anyone has any Meg/Noele suggestions for the site then let me know
I'll pass it on to John at the App Soc and see what we can do.
Mike
Another year passes since she left us. Be 20 years before we know
it. Gone so quickly. Still, at least she can rest easy now that
this joke Carlton have been playing on the fans is nearly over.
Patsy
Well i'm glad people like the new site, everyone is welcome to
provide information thoughts or such.
Not sure how official it is but a new site "Megs Motel" might be
appearing in the future by the people behind the old Crossroads
Appreciation Society.
That I'm sure will be a lasting tribute to Noele. I don't know any
more than that at the moment but i hope it happens it should be
something for all Nolly fans to enjoy.

I know what you mean Mike. I've been busy too since getting my new
puppy a month ago. I'm so behind with everything from emails to
giving my profile info! But the site is coming along great. You
should be very proud. Wish I was as clever as that.

Early stages but i think its something that can be worked on.

Aww, that was a really lovely thing to do, Ian. Thank you. At least
there are some of us out here who still remember her. I've never
been to visit her grave sadly. It's a bit difficult without
transport - or money! But I'm determined to one day. I finally got
to Golders Green crem last year to pay my respects to Yootha Joyce so
I'll get to visit Nolly one of these days.
I don't blame her not never forgiving him. Ronnie Allen said it was
that which killed her really.
Patsy
Many thanks to everyone who has joined over the past 12 months, as
well as to all of you who joined last year. Have a great time
tonight and I look forward to more chatting in 2003! :-)
Patsy
Hi All :
I was in Ross-on-Wye on Boxing Day and visited Noele's grave there.
I was dissapointed to see that no flowres at all were placed to
celebrate her birthday and Christmas, so I placed a small posy in
rememberence of her on behalf of all members of the club.
Also, you may be interested to know that Noele never forgave Jack
Barton for his role in her sacking - she felt that he could have
prevented this. For those of you that have the final episode of
Noele on the QE2 departing from Southampton, if you look closely you
can see Jack standing to her left on the final shot of the ship.
Happy New Year to All.
Warm regards
Ian

That's some toasting, Mike! When will your liver recover? :-)
Yes, it's been a sad year for Crossroads fans. What with losing
Sandor, Zeph and Jack in such a short space of time. But it's lovely
to know Nolly is still remembered these days and just as loved. So
here's to Nolly. Hope she had a wonderful birthday, wherever she is.
Patsy

I'll recover about March! See you then!
Cheers!

There has been many times in the past when "we wonder what noele
would make of it" has crept up. Now the nearest thing we get to
finding out and i cant think of anything to ask.
Oh well at least the option is always there now.

Hi Ian and welcome!
I agree and even Ronnie Allen blamed her sacking for her illness.
I'm hoping Yahoo will stop being a pain and accept the 5 at the end
of 1985. But for some strange reason it cuts it off! I'm still
trying though.
