Well the set is bad isn't it. But nice to see Susan Hanson, and her
story about Nolly. Although Tony's is hard to beat. Sounds like they
had great fun.
Speaking of stories, someone I know, their Grandmother used to run a
department at the BT Tower in London - and in 1975 the tower closed
early so people could go home and watch Meg and Hughs wedding!
The power of Nolly.

Ta for the nod about ITV. I'll have a look at that.
I've taped that show for the Crossroads bit but still not had the time
to see it. Any good?
Patsy
Two little things.
First, Crossroads is now on ITV.com:
http://preview.itv.com/BestofITV/soaps/default.htm
You can watch a selection of classic episodes, and more will be added
later no doubt.
Second, ITV1, 9.25pm this Saturday - Thats What I Call Television.
They've 'rebuilt' and reopened Crossroads for one night only, and
there is a bit of chat about Nolly. Susan Hanson, Jane Rossington,
Tony Adams and Paul Henry are on.
Yes, I agree. I've got Stephen Cove doing Nolly as if she'd done
Desert Island Discs for BBC Radio 4. Its set in 1983.
We'll have to see if we can get it released somehow, its very amusing.
I think Noele would approve. Well I'd hope so.
when i listen to it, i thing you can hear in nolly voice how sad she is to
leave, all the best calvin

Well I'm not sure how they'll do it, I guess the second disc in the
set might become more "up to date" but clearly they see Noele is the
major selling point so the first disc may continue with the 60s and
70s episodes.

I agree. It was a crap return. They spent all that money going to
Venice and having this reunion between Jill and Meg so they should
have made more of it.
It would also be a shame if they didn't include the last episode, even
if it was on UK Gold (split). My copy still plays from 19 years ago
amazingly.

what about the carlton prog return to crossroads as old clips were on, xmas 1980
with doris danceing and it was meg, jill and sandy last xmas as a family. all

I don't think they're too keen on going into UK Gold territory as they
have been shown, and the selling point of the DVDs are episodes never
seen in many cases since the original ITV showings.

There's not enough of them. End of the first ep, reprise, scene at
the start then during the end credits. It was good to see her again
though.

I know. Maybe once the DVD is out it will be a bit busier. :-)
I can't wait for the DVD. Been too long since the last one. Do you
know if there are any plans to include her last Central eps on
future releases?
Patsy
Crikey nearly a year since the last post, its been very quiet here.
Anyway, something to cheer people up. Thanks to Network DVD The
Crossroads Fan Club has three DVDs to give-a-way.
I thought Nolly fans here might want to take part, so I'll let you
know nearer the time how to enter the competition.
Well I hope everyone is having a good new year.
Anyway, We've decided to make a "Noele Gordon" site at CAS, so if
anyone has anything (memories, gossip, articles (other than Goodbye
Meg/My Life At Crossroads/My Life At The Crossroads) or photos ect,
then feel free to email me.
It is hard to get Nolly info, so its up to the fans to make sure the
world know what a star she was - and is!
After the snub by ITV at the 50th celebrations of one of their former
biggest stars, its time we put that right in 2006.
There is a basic page on at the moment, I'll add more as we get it.

Hi Mike,
Blimey I'm a lazy cow. The end of the year already. Where's the
time gone?
My toe is thankfully better now. Took 15 weeks to heal completely
though. I wasn't happy.
Ooh maybe she was. I do believe in ghosts so you never know. She
may have haunted those who sacked her. Is the shower head still
safe?
Have a wonderful New Year! :-)
Patsy
Thanks to everyone over this past year for joining and posting. I
hope you all have a wonderful New Year and I look forward to
continuing reading all your posts during 2006 and beyond! :-D
Patsy

Yes I've got it stored away with my other bits 'n' bobs. I doubt it'll
be worth anything, but there wasn't much you could actually get hold
of in the room. So we took what we could.
Some people said they saw something in one of the darker hall ways.
For those who believe in it, they suspect Ms Gordon might have been
taking an interest. I didn't see anything myself.

Jammy sods. Wish I could have gone but even if I'd known I was
recovering from a broken toe so couldn't. :-(
How's the shower head?

You would. It is such a load of rubbish though. Only worth watching
her bit(s). I sat there during the repeat, video going waiting when I
caught the repeat by chance. Kept running it back because she wasn't
appearing. Over a bloody hour I waited for her minute or so.
Patsy
Last week the Crossroads Appreciation Society had a group visit to ATV
Centre, before the demolition men move in shortly.
We've filmed some footage of the studios used for Crossroads, but also
managed to also see Nolly's dressing room, the make up area, costume
room and the store rooms as well as loading bays.
I think most people were actually thrilled to be in Noele's room
though. Because of this I didn't manage to get much footage, but I did
get a bit and I'll add a few images later hopefully.
I did however get to take the shower head from her dressing room. :)
I've seen it listed in her credits. Never seen the film.. you'd expect
it to be one of those ones Channel 4 show in the afternoons.
Well Network DVD are releasing one of her episodes of Lunchbox on the
next Crossroads DVD, so who knows, they might release the film at some
point!

Six TV Southampton repeated it tonight. My dad caught it at 7.20pm
and it was another hour before Nolly came on as a brunette! Though
she may have been in it a few minutes before then. Obviously a very
small part though however she was in it.
Patsy
My dad said this was on the local crappy Southampton TV last night but
he only saw the credits with Nolly's name in as Mrs . Anyone ever
seen it? Doesn't seem to have been released anywhere.

Oh that's awful! Mind you, I don't think she has any family to tend
it. Benny Hill's I know from the local paper has been vandalised
and a local fan tends it. I always wanted to go to Ross-on-Wye and
pay my respects but as I don't drive it's difficult. Why isn't the
groundsman (or whatever they're called for cemeteries) doing
something about it? Or have they cut back so much they can't afford
for even the grass to be cut?

That's great! Nice to know too she's still greatly loved in
Birmingham.
Patsy
BBC West Midlands Radio have said that apparently Noel Gordon's Grave
is in a very bad state.
Ed Doolan the DJ said he will be notifying the appropriate people
about how bad her grave is.
(thanks to John Brayne who informed CAS of the news)
Bit sad really, I know for a long time people from CAS did go and
make it look nice ect, but I don't think there is anyone in the area
who can really keep an eye on it. Well at least there are still
people within the BBC who think Noele should have a bit more respect.
Shame no one at Carlton-Central think the same way.
