For 3 months!!!!! :-D Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang at the Mayflower
Theatre from the 22nd June to 22nd September. I must make an effort
to get over this time. Should be cold free which helps. LOL!
Patsy
Thanks to everyone over this past year for joining and posting. I
hope you all have a wonderful New Year and I look forward to
continuing reading all your posts during 2006 and beyond! :-D

It's because the group has open membership and non moderated
messages.
All such groups get hit by the spammers. If you want to stop them
you
need to have membership be approved and initial messages be approved.
The spammers don't bother with groups that do that because their
messages will not get through.
You can change the settings if you are a moderator in the Management
link of the group.
Groups like this
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/StarskyandHutchFanFictionSearch/
where although membership is open first messages are moderated and
have
to be approved have no spam problems.
I always think open groups with open postings are just a mark of lazy
moderators because it takes very little time to check initial
postings
and then if people are genuine you can change their profile so they
can
post without moderation.

Have any of you been to see Tony in Chitty? He is absolutely
fantastic!! The show has one more week to run if anyone wants to go.
If you want cheaper seats ask for the restricted view seats on the
front row. They are only restricted in that you can't see the back of
the stage. It's well worth going.
Oh goodness... a late reply from me!
They were talking about the original series, Tony and Jane were very
funny and wonderful comments.
On the gay subject, Tony said maybe instead they could have made Jill
a lesbian and she could have run off with Amy Turtle.. then Jane made
comments about not sleeping with the deceased.. If BBC WM ever need
fill in presenters I think Tony Adams and Jane Rossington could do an
exellent job at it!

LOL! I can't imagine Benny's spanner turning Adam on! I could
imagine them sending him off to find one and he came back with
Adam. So when was this turning Adam gay meant to have happened?
The original series of the Carlton ones?
Patsy
Last night on BBC WM (west midlands) Radio Jane Rossington and Tony
Adams were reunited to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
I know it was broadcast online and some people have taped it so maybe
at some point the transcript will appear but it was a great interview.
Actually it was intended that I was going to speak with them also,
but sadly a technical fault put that down the spout.
Anyway I did speak after Tony and Jane about the show, and I think
they were right, Granada loves Corrie. ATV/Central didn't even like
Crossroads.
Anyway there was a brief word or two about Tony being in Chitty, and
Jane heaped praise on his performance.
The other revelation is the producers wanted to turn Adam gay!! But
he said no, he wouldn't do that.. just as well, we'd not want him
driving off in a sportscar with Benny now would we!

I'm on the mend now, thanks, Mike. Just got 2 more lots of
treatment to go - yay!!!!!
Oh, bloody ITV! I remember I told someone about a repeat of that
once and it wasn't the one that I'd said! Sometimes they're on the
same night and other times they're on weeks later.
Nice to see Tony last night though on When Soaps Changed The World.
But, like Jane, nowhere near enough!
Patsy
Sorry to hear you've been ill, I hope you're back to full health soon!
I just put it online really because ITV messed around with the late
night repeat and lots of people missed it! Typical of ITV!

Cheers for that info, Mike. I did have it on tape but had been ill
for months and not got round to copying it. :-(
Patsy
Just though I'd let you all know that the Des and Mel interview can be
seen on Destination Kings Oak.. lol oh erm URL.. well go to the
Appreciation Society site and click on "video vault" its take you to it.
Will also have some highlights from the Open Air Crossroads show from
1988 on at some point soon too. Just for those who missed it all the
first time round.
Tony was on today - last as usual. Why is it whoever you want is on
last?? He was very funny, talking about how he's often getting
confused with the footballer, Crossroads, Ginger Rogers and chips
and just asked Des if he was a Sagittarian when Des cut him off
because the programme was over! Go and see Tony in Chitty, Chitty,
Bang Bang!
Patsy
Many thanks to everyone who has joined over the past 12 months, as
well as to all of you who joined last year. Have a great time
tonight and I look forward to more chatting in 2003! :-)
Patsy
In today's Weekend magazine she mentions Tony a couple of times in
her soap column.
Most Dramatic Moment: Crossroads' Adam Chance denouncing Satan and
all his works in the church crypt. Absolutely hilarious, but full
marks to actor Tony Adams for managing the nonsense with a straight
face.
Also in the column she wrote:
"The climax of Crossroads' year was the church crypt scene between
Adam and Sarah, in which Adam became the devil incarnate and
seemingly met his end. When Crossroads returns in the new year, they
should invent an even dafter storyline (along the lines of Dallas'
Bobby in the shower) in order to bring him back."
Hear, hear! Have the entire past 2 years as a dream and bring back
Jill while they're at it!
Patsy
These 2 stand-in DJ's were going on about Tony in panto and cracking
jokes about the Arsenal footballer. Then some prat phones up and
points out it isn't the footballer (good so far) but then says he
used to be in Coronation Street! Duh!
Patsy
Anyone see this tonight? Tracy telling Adam he's an old has-been
living in the past and Tony drying, then saying, "You've been talking
to my agent again, haven't you?"
Patsy
A friend of mine told me a very funny story today. He said he and a
friend had just finished playing tennis on Monday and the football
was on the telly - the Tony Adams Testimonial. His friend asked if
it was the one from Crossroads!
Patsy
I don't know how long he was interviewed for (he was on with Holly
Newman and a couple of Corrie people), but he said being back on
Crossroads was fun at the start, and even he thinks it's over and
said you need to contact a clairvoyant to find out!
Patsy
Derbyshire's a bit far for me, and I have to rely on National
Express! I'm off to Manchester and Stockton later this year and that
takes *hours* with only 1 proper stop. All these places are a pain
for be as I live out in the sticks with a rubbish bus service (which
they want to stop), and have to leave while most other people are
still in bed. But it's still in the planning stage at the momet and
all depends on whether Tony (and Jane) and willing to do it. The
wheels are in motion. I'm just waiting for some info before I
contact their agents.

Seems our City of Culture bid is out the window(It already has due to
the Love Parade).
All right then,Derbyshire-but I do feel it is too far for me.
I'm afraid Andy that Newcastle would be out of the question, just
like Southampton would, despite being *much* easier for me, and if we
could get Tony, it wouldn't be far for him to go either. It would
need to be somewhere of relative equidistance for everyone. You
can't really expect someone from all the way down here to go all the
way up there, anymore than I'd expect you to come all the way down
here. That's why somewhere like Derbyshire's better because it's
more central for everyone.
