Hi, just found out about the list and joined this morning. I won't
call myself a newbie since I'm a First Cousin and have been involved
in MFU fandom for well over 20 years now.
I just finished reading the messages, and will explore the albums
when I have time.
There were quite a few episodes of 4th that I liked, and a few that
left bad tastes in my mouth. 7 Wonders was one--but that may have
been because I knew it was the last time I'd see an original MFU ep
since the show had been cancelled in November. It was one of the
darkest and most serious in theme of any of the shows, but at not-
quite 16, I was more upset and angry about being replaced by Laugh-
In that thinking of what the deeper themes of the show really meant.
In my notes on the show, I referred to LI as "Murder,Inc." as the
preview section. I also referred to Gunsmoke as Pistol Pollution
for the entire year and many years thereafter. (Did I hold a
grudge? Hell, yes!)
4th season was a little too grim, too soon after the mostly silly
3rd, although there were some great eps even in that year. If they
had lightened up just a litte, a la 1st, with the advantage of
color, it would have been a helluva season.
I missed the teaser and first act titles in 4th, and I hated what
they did to the theme. It was almost as bad as 3rd. I always loved
the MFU music, and have a collection of albums by anyone who
recorded a cover of the main theme. Let me tell you, some of them
were pretty bad. I always wondered what David would have done with
an arrangement of some of them, but maybe he wanted to distance
himself a bit...anyone out there have any opinions on that? Or is
tht something that never occcurred to anyone at the time?
