Ardal O'Hanlon is staring in the stage play See U Next Tuesday at The
Richmond Theatre in Surry, England. Dates run from Tuesday 28th of
August through to Saturday the 6th of September.
That doesn't really tell you much so here is the theatre's line on
things:
SEE U NEXT TUESDAY is a hilarious comedy starring the hugely
watchable and entertaining Ardal O'Hanlon in his London stage debut
at Richmond Theatre.
The play has been adapted by Oscar winning writer Ronald Harwood (The
Dresser, The Pianist) from the phenomenally successful play "Le Diner
de Cons" by Francis Veber.
Harwood's latest comedy bears all the trademarks that Richmond
audiences have come to associate with his work - his previous
successes here include Quartet boasting a celebrity cast which played
to packed audiences.
In this comedy the urbane Pierre (Nigel Havers) has it all: a
successful job, a beautiful wife, an adoring mistress and numerous
friends. He also has an unusual pastime... every Tuesday he and his
friends dine with a different so-called idiot. This brings Pierre
into contact with the finest example of a nincompoop he has ever met:
Francois (Ardal O'Hanlon), an accountant for the Inland Revenue,
whose only passion in life stems from matchstick models.
When the paths of these two unlikely dinner companions cross, the
resulting chaos is one of pure genius.
We are delighted to welcome back the enigmatic Nigel Havers
(Manchild, The Charmer and most recently on stage in ART) who last
appeared at Richmond 10 years ago in Ricochet and we are thrilled to
have the lovely Patsy Kensit (Absolute Beginners, Lethal Weapon, Bad
Karma). Also joining them are Patrick Ryecart, Geoffrey Hutchings,
Roy Sampson and local actress Carol Royle
