Hm, tough question. I think it's easier to answer for Harry than Jack. Up
until Chain Reaction, I'd say it would be easier for Harry to betray his
friend. Everything he did for the NID was for his country, in his mind. I
don't think he sees what he did as treason. None of it. He was doing what
he thought was best for his country. In Chain Reaction that changed, or
maybe it changed more in Desperate Measures. His country betrayed him so he
does not owe his loyalty. However, he considers Jack a friend (of sorts)
and is oddly loyal to him.

Now Jack I think is too much of a soldier to betray his country. We've seen
him deceive his friends (in Shades of Grey, and other places too) but he's
never betrayed his country. He's disobeyed orders on occasion, but it was
to defend his country.

I don't know about Carter, but she's a soldier first so I guess she'd react
the same as Jack.

Teal'c would rather betray his country. Or, well.... He betrayed his
"country" over friendship when he joined SG-1. If you consider serving the
Goa'uld his "country". But he's made it quite clear that his allegiance
lies first with the free Jaffa. If he had to make the choice, I think he'd
also betray his friend.

Daniel is the only one who would put friendship first.

I think this really depends on how you look at each individual choice. I
think Teal'c was morally correct choosing SG-1 over Apophis. I also think
Jack was morally correct not telling his teammates about his undercover
assignment. I don't think Maybourne was morally correct choosing to steal
technology from other races. I don't think Jack was morally correct in
shooting that android girl in season 5. But this is such an individual
call....

... That's pretty spot on my own view of Harry. I'm sure he saw himself as a patriot. ... I think, maybe, it's easier to back your friends when you actually...
