also have tons of Sweet Valley books left over
from Jr. High. I decided to read them because they're
so easy and go so fast, and for pure entertainment
they're cool. They're actually hilarious to me now, but I
used to think they were so great! Anyway, Frank Silva
died just last year. I'll try to find the press
release and put it on here.
used to watch Kids in Corporated all the time.
I was also the biggest Sweet Valley fan. I still
have a bunch of the books. You guys are bringing back
the memories for me. When did Frank Silva die? I
hadn't heard.
always wanted to be like Elizabeth too. The sad
part is that I fancied myself to be Enid Rollins, her
nerdy best friend. I knew I could never BE her, but I
thought she might like me if I was smart enough.
lthough I love Sweet Valley High, and always
wanted to be the smart and nice, but also pretty, with a
cute boyfirend, like Elizabeth the twin who always
wore classicly tailored slacks and a sweater, who, if
she existed in real life, I would truly hate and call
her a bitch out of jealousy and a little female
crush, my real love was the Trixie Belden series, so
given the choice between the two, I would have had to
go for Trixie. Sorry I wasn't home to guide your
decision, Amy. I always wanted to be Trixie, but even more
I wanted to be Honey because she was rich. <br>
<br>Also, along the lines of Rudi, I thought Honey was a
lovely name, but I didn't want to copy it exactly, so I
would write little stories about myself and call myself
things like 'Sugar' or 'Lassi', which was short for, you
guessed it, Molasses. I'm embarrassed that this is all
true.
reat thought amy, although you'll probably never
know i think its a great thought, cause ive not been
able to post a message successfully in a million
tries. but here goes...........oh ya, one more would you
rather, the midget or marty horton???
reg, Mark, Kevin, and Brian . . .imagine all six
of us, sitting at the counter of the Mar-T cafe (the
RR), ordering coffee and Cherry pie from Shelley or
Norma . . . seeing BOB's face in the owls at night . .
.posing in plastic by Laura's Log . . .HOOOOORAY!!!!
She wore Blue Velvet, blackbird and velvet was
the night . . ." I watched Lynch's Blue Velvet last
night, and as incredibly bizarre the film is, I found it
far less mind-boggling than TP. Although we're
looking at 2 hours as opposed to 30 some hours.
Anyway--isn't Dennis Hopper a psycho??? I've got a new "would
you rather." DENNIS HOPPER AS FRANK IN "BLUE VELVET"
or FRANK SILVA AS KILLER BOB IN TP???? (I pick
Dennis) By the way, we all know Jack Nance died, but
Frank Silva also died. :( FINALLY, did anyone else see
similarities between Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks??? (The pie,
the birds, "now it is dark," "I walk with you in
dreams/Fire walk with me" etc.) Tell me your perceptions . .
.
ell . . .who's in the club? Just friends of mine
that I don't see very often, as well as fans of David
Lynch or Twin Peaks. But if you're not a fan, it's okay
. . .because I invited you so you could leave me a
message every now and then! Hope all is well--e-mail me
about the musical!!! What part did you get? Thanks for
joining. :)
hank you for joining!!! I had the diary, and
have read it several times, but a couple years ago I
lent it to someone and never got it back. So I just
ordered one--it cost me $35 out of print. I guess they
are worth something! I also ordered the tapes. You
can download them from the internet as well if your
comp. supports that. If you visit my site you will find
a link to download the tapes.
es I have it. I bought a copy when it first came
out and I loaned it to so many people that it is now
falling apart. I found a copy of it at a grocery store
for $2 a few years back so I got another one. Since
it's out of print now will they be worth something
someday, do you think? <br><br>What about the Cooper: My
Life, My Tapes. Does anyone have that?
would choose the same as you, Amy, except that I would choose Coop every day
except when he was Bob and then definitely Harry. But most of the time, I'd want
to do them both.
. Cooper or Harry? (I would pick Coop if I had
to choose, but I'd RATHER do them both.) <br>2.
One-armed man or midget? (midget)<br>3. Killer Bob or Leo?
(Leo)<br>4. Bobby or Mike? (Mike)<br>5. Nadine or Log Lady?
(Log Lady)<br>6. Pete or Hawk? (Hawk)<br>7. Dick or
Andy?(Andy)<br>8. Ed or Ben? (Ed)<br>9. Ben or Jerry? (Ben)<br>10.
Shelly or Norma? (Shelly)<br>MORE LATER!!!
have tried writing this twice so I hope it
works this time (and that it doesn't show up 15 times
later after all these tries) First, Jane, thanks for
the cool TP links page. I even got to add my own
link! Hooray! Secondly, April--nice KIC club. I
remember the show, how could I forget! Did you ever watch
DeGrassi Jr. High? Jane--remember watching/talking about
that show??? Anyway--I am glad that after only 5 days
my club is starting to pick up. It's my first
success, so far anyway. It always sucked when I was
president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and only
member.
am peeing my pants. That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my
life, Jane. I can't believe someone so illiterate would think they could carry
that off.
ear Amy and Drew...<br>I feel so cool that I can
be a part of your club!! When I was younger, I was
always trying to start clubs, but none of them did very
well. I think that's because I always installed myself
as the president. The most successful was this one
that we called KIC (pronounced "kick"). It was an
acronym for Kids Incorporated Club -- you know, after the
TV show. I had a total female crush on the lead girl
in that show, so that was my "club character". I had
a different name in my club, though, because I
didn't really like her name on the TV show, and I had
just read the Witch of Blackbird Pond and thought
Puritan names were pretty cool, so I was Prudence. Rudi
for short. I thought that was the most beautiful
name... I was kind of a dork. <br>The club was all about
cheerleading too, which really had nothing to do with Kids
Incorporated, but we were in junior high and that was all we
thought about. Also, in order to be a member of the club,
you had to have a boyfriend, or more accurately, name
a boy that you liked. Mine was Scott Hostetler,
whom I was in love with all the way through middle
school. We made Lil a junior member, but before she could
join, we forced her to make up a boyfriend, and when
she wouldn't, we just named one of the boys in her
class and tortured her by calling him her boyfriend all
while the club existed. Which wasn't very long,
incidentally, because we all got into a fight about who should
be head cheerleader. <br>Anyway...thanks for letting
me join your club
