The brothers-- they were dead wrong for taken their taxi.  What they should
have done was ask the taxi to send another taxi to way on Erika and Brian.  But
did they leave their backpacks in the taxi?  That is one question that is
bothering me.  Unless the brothers left it on the side so they can pick it up.

like all choices, the subway was a risk and it didn't pan out.

i don't like the brother's attitude, but ericka's isn't much better.  the
botheres are nasty to the other contestants yet the brothers try hard at the
challenges whereas ericka often whines her way through. she's the weak link.

I was in Prague last year at this time. Their transport service is
*excellent*. But they didn't favor in that they'd have to take a trolley *and*
the
subway.
It was such a pleasure seeing those wonderful Prague sights again!
Was a big fan of the Brothers at first but am liking them less every week.

What you see with Phil when he is on Bonnie Hunt.. that is how he is all the
time. He is edited to look serious... every so often they will edit his
real personality to be shown on the race....

I haven't found a blog from his this year, which I guess is no big loss
since his blog from last year was really boring. (Hmmm...and now I'm trying
to remember if this was the list I said that on last year and got flamed
for it. <g>) Especially boring compared to Jeff Probst's Survivor blog.
Jeff's blog is excellent.

As for Phil's personality, he's a totally different guy when he's a guest
on the Bonnie Hunt show. Lots of smiling and TONS of flirting and innuendo
from him on that show. Almost too much. (Bonnie has a not-secret crush
on him. "Phil, you and I have dated in my fantasy life," she tells him.
And then he flirts right back with her.) I'm always wishing he would tone
down the flirting and finally get around to talking about the race.

The last time he was on Bonnie's show, he told a story about how he had a
plaster cast made of his butt (I forget the reason why...I think he was
doing some sort of show segment at a nudist camp) and then he and his wife used
it as a salad bowl at a dinner party.

Erica's attitude is not the attitude i would expect of someone on the amazing
Race.  Brian is awesome though.

The gay brothers are tiresome to watch.

The globe trotters can be arrogant at times.

so who's left?

Megan/ Cheyne were thinking correctly to find out just what a Praga was. These
two are impressing me more and more. Actually, I should clarify because I'm
still angry at Cheyne for making Megan do the hay rolling, so I should say I
continue to be impressed with Megan.

Brian/Ericka – I would have thought taking the subway would be faster too but
I didn't see them boarding a "subway" – looked like a long busride to me
instead. Maybe they didn't see the interchange stop for a subway. This reminds
me of my attempt to go native back on our cruise to the carribean. I had planned
and researched ahead of time that it would be faster and more colourful to take
the local ferry (right next to the cruise landing anyway) across the harbour to
the Baccardi factory. However, I forgot to account for the 1 hour time change
and while I thought we had some time before the next ferry, it was actually
leaving right away. Ooops. Never did get to the Baccardi factory.

The brothers continued to prove they couldn't work together when they attempted
the rapids instead of the ropes. Seeing Big Easy's feet drag in the water, you
knew that the pull up to the other side was going to be steep and hard.

Sorry Flight Time, I think you could have made way a little faster too but hey,
it's a race for $1million… and Meghan, that was just a little too nice at this
point to be waiting for the Globe Trotter s and to be giving them tips.

And the taxi stealing thing; well, yes, the brothers could have been asking the
driver to call them a  cab on his cellphone instead of stealing Brian/Ericka's
but hey, if the driver was willing to take them instead of waiting, I'm sorry
Brian/Ericka, that's the way the race is played. Remember the yeat the hippies
won though? they were good sports the whole way if I recall correctly. It sure
would have been nice of the driver had he called Brian/Ericka a substitute cab
in the meantime though.

I laughed at Big Easy's discomfort of being mocked. And laughed again when the
character Giovanni sat down and ate a sandwich beside Brian. I would have liked
to have seen the Globe Trotters take 2nd away from the brothers. Did you see the
boys faces when Big easy made reference to stealing a cab? Precious!

It was great to see Brian/Ericka get a non-elimination round. I hope the
speed-bump is a bit more interesting than the last one though. Yawn. Remember
when they use to have to give up their money? Now that was a challenge.

I was laughing my head off at the brothers capsizing their canoe 3 times but was
very VERY disappointed that it didn't make them lose enough time for the
trotters to come in ahead of them. I was hoping with all my black little heart
that the brothers would be eliminated. Stealing the cab is what gave them an
advantage and, while it was a rotten thing to do, apparently it's not against
the rules but, maybe it should be.

I predict Meghan and her blockhead boyfriend will depart company after the race
is over. He's not a nice person and the nice (or not so nice) thing about the
race is it shows peoples real personalities, warts and all.

I can't help wondering how or when the producers decide which leg of the race
will have a non-elimination. I'm happy for Brian and Erika too. On the other
hand, the "speed bumps" have been really lame. Maybe the producers decided it's
too dangerous to have people wandering foreign countries with no money.

Does Phil write a blog the way Jeff Probst of Survivor does? I'd be interested
in getting his take on things. He is so stoic, you can't tell if what, if
anything, is on his mind. The guy has no personality. JMO

Am I the only one who thinks the "speed bump" that the father & son had to do
was laughable?  I always thought a speed bump was an extra "challenge" to slow a
team down.  Several minutes relaxing in a sauna sounds more like a prize than a
challenge.  I should think that extra time to relax while others are
breathlessly running around like chickens with their heads cut off would be an
advantage, giving them a second wind, not a "challenge" but, they were
eliminated, so what do I know?

My memory sucks so I can't remember what past speed bumps were or how they
effected the teams.

I'm actually in the position of not disliking any of the teams that are left- so
any one of them could win and I'd be happy.

***I think there's going to be some problems between Globetrotters and
brothers… I just don't think the Globetrotters are going to see that incident
in a different light. Someone show them the replays before they start the next
leg.***

I think the problems started as soon as they got off the ferry. The brothers
were irritated at the Globetrotters "following" them. It always amuses me when
teams get irritated at other teams for "following" them, when they are all going
to the same place- what else are they going to do? Pick an out of the way route
just to avoid doing so? Wait at least 10 minutes so that they can't see each
other and then go the same way? Sheesh...

Then the whole "we called for this taxi"/ "no it came here on its own, it
wasn't called" fiasco.  It was never made clear who was right in this
situation- but since the driver never actually said, "yes, I was called to pick
you up" (not that I heard anyway), getting mad that the Globetrotters didn't
just step out of the way and let them have the cab by themselves (when the
Globetrotters had reached the cab before them) was just childish of the
brothers. And to be huffy and pouty the whole ride, so that it was clear to
anyone around them that they were mad...

To be honest, it doesn't surprise me the Globetrotters assumed that they had
been deliberately pushed on the race to second place. If I'd had the "Brothers
Grump" be neck and neck with me the whole race- and it be clear that they were
mad at ME, I'd assume it was deliberate too.

I remember another speed bump. The retired football player and his wife had
to serve water to a large group of worshippers at a temple in India. It wasn't
hard, but it took time, a precious commodity when the team that's working on it
is already behind, perhaps by several hours.
That's what the spa treatment for the father and son was about. It was
pain-free and relaxing, but it took time, when they were already behind.

I agree wth you Nancy, it was unfair!  The son, (can't think of his name), even
said something about making out with the girls.  If Dan, Sam, the
Globetrotters, or Brian knew about it they'd beat him up Cheyne too, (with my
blessing!!) they should've had to work with the hay again!!  I'm wondering too,
how the  teams can switch from one task to another?  Does anyone know?  I
think switching shouldn't be allowed.

Yes, I read that too, but I also read an interview somewhere on the net. It was
with them both after the race and they stated they were still together. Also I
dont believe Canaan when he said his decision to break up with her had nothing
to do with the race, thats ludicris. Who does he think hes s^%$$ing?

Here are the three I can remember off the top of my head. The "paint the
elephant" speed bump was a good one. It required some effort and skill.
Last seasons "mix ingredients to make soup" was totally lame. The pinkie
goths had to go do yoga with real yogis, which took some time and required
effort and concentration. I thought that was a good one.

Remember when Phil used to take all the possessions away for the last team
to arrive in a non-elimination round? Speed bumps are nothing compared to
that penalty.

Yes, I read that too, but I also read an interview somewhere on the net. It was
with them both after the race and they stated they were still together. Also I
dont believe Canaan when he said his decision to break up with her had nothing
to do with the race, thats ludicris. Who does he think hes s^%$$ing?

Am I the only one who thinks the "speed bump" that the father & son had to do
was laughable? I always thought a speed bump was an extra "challenge" to slow a
team down. Several minutes relaxing in a sauna sounds more like a prize than a
challenge. I should think that extra time to relax while others are
breathlessly running around like chickens with their heads cut off would be an
advantage, giving them a second wind, not a "challenge" but, they were
eliminated, so what do I know?

My memory sucks so I can't remember what past speed bumps were or how they
effected the teams.

First of all the brothers had been gunning for the Globetrotters a couple of
episodes ago.  So there is kind of bad blood but not on the Globetrotters side
until this episode.
As you can see the brothers would do anything to win.  When they'd take
Ericka/Brian taxicab.

I was hoping to find a video of the actual collision, but could only find the
brothers and the trotters telling their versions on "you tube"

Globe trotter version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSxE2hTMeWs

Dan and Sam

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIS5e6q6MMg

The trotter are used to colliding with players on the basketball court so it's
not surprising that Big Easy should think it's O.K. to plow through another
team.

It appeared to be an accident.  Sam and Dan were in the lead.  The Globe
trotters had started off going in the wrong direction.  When they ran up behind
Sam and Dan one of the Globe Trotters slipped and went down taking one of the
brothers with him.  I do not understand why the Globetrotters were mad.
Everyone was alright and they arrived seconds behind.  It seems a strange thing
to cause a feud.  Maybe it is more about the way CBS or the production company
cut the piece together.  And who knows what goes on that we never see.

So who pushed who when Sam & Dan bumped into the trotters tonight? I should have
recorded it which I nomally do so I don't miss anything but, wouldn't you know
it I forgot to do that. I watched it, but it happened so fast I couldn't really
tell if it was an accident or deliberate.

I couldn't tell for certain either.

The platform was very narrow, now wide enough for anyone to pass someone like
that.

Thanks for being fair.

That was a great deal of down time. Not only did they have their rest period
after the last leg, they also had a) the wait for the ferry and b) the ferry
ride itself. A great chance to recuperate.

Not the most difficult Speed Bump was it? What? 15 minutes including the change
time? Matt didn't take the opportunity to get to know the beautiful woman in the
sauna next to him.

The rubbing wasn't a bad idea Flight Time and I think a lot of the others lucked
into figuring what to do by trying to see any faint writing by holding the paper
up to the candle. Matt, maybe the whole head-banger music scene should have been
coupled with some classic book reading – candelabra.

Hmmm, spotting the taxi or being closer to it – who gets right of way? I'm sorry
Ericka, if you can't get to it first, I would say it's Meghan/Cheyne's. But it's
a close one to call.

Matt, again, reading is a good thing; sound it out – garden.

Flight Time/Big Easy – didn't you guys know that a team had already completed
the challenge? Did anyone in the group notice if they had asked? If so, running
for second and causing (two sides to every coin) the conflict was senseless. But
they aren't in competitive sports by being boy scouts.

Gary "I love you buddy and I accept you just the way you are."

Matt "I never want to see another candelabra in my lifetime."

I think there's going to be some problems between Globetrotters and brothers… I
just don't think the Globetrotters are going to see that incident in a different
light. Someone show them the replays before they start the next leg.

If you're thinking of Godwin and Erwin, they're actually Korean, if I remember
