My third book from ReadTheseLips.com.

It's here!
Sweet Afters from ReadTheseLips.com is our third collection of distinctive
stories from talented lesbian authors. Joan Nestle—co-founder of the Lesbian
Herstory Archives and iconic lesbian activist—honoured us with a fascinating
story of one lesbian's joyous life celebrated by those who shared it. Janis
Spehr sent in a breathtaking narrative of a housewife struggling to escape a
dead-end life. J.E. Knowles, Georgia Beers, JD Glass and Amy McDonald each gave
a glimpse into the complexities of significant relationships. Vicki Stevenson
reminded us that happy beginnings can happen anywhere, and poet Natasha Carthew
offered three short but intense poems for all who have longed and loved. For the
first time, we are featuring a photographic exhibit by JRen, who also shot this
issue's beautiful covers.
Sweet Afters is about the last course, the indulgent pleasure afterwards. We
hope this issue of Read These Lips satisfies in the best way.
Now available for download from ReadTheseLips.com.
Enjoy the book.

Time for an end of summer update. I have been looking through the files and see several more stories that will soon be formatted on posted on The Sandbox. It should provide reading through the cold summer months or hot summer days depending on what side of the continent you are on. Please enjoy and as always let your writers know what you think so they will continue to write and share with all the readers,

Fire & Water Chapter 24 Conclusion (O) by Jaye Morgan Synopsis: Fire & Water, Book Two, picks up some months after the close of Ashe. To be read alone or as a sequel to Ashe, Book One. Look for the beginning of Book 3 to begin posting soon
Afterwards by Jaye Morgan Synopsis: Add to the funeral a bored horror story writer and some suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and you get the ending. Sometimes it can be wrapped up in one tidy creepy package afterwards.
Paradox of Love by J. M. Dragon & Erin O'Rielly Synopsis: Paradox of Love tells the story of a tempestuous love affair between Olivia Santos and Parker Davis. The reading of any of the other When
Heaven Meets Hell stories is not necessary to read and understand this story. It may however, give you some background about the two characters. (Story is complete)
So You Think You're In Control (sequel to The Grocery Store) by Lynette Mae Synopsis: Relationships are never easy. They involve work, compromise and
faith. Sometimes our commitment is tested by nothing more than our own insecurities. The truth in relationships is vastly different from the perceptions of the outside world. In the face of emotional intimacy, are we brave enough to risk everything by relinquishing all control?
Welcome to this month's updates on The Sandbox. Lynette Mae is back with 2 new stories, one that just made #1 on The Athenaeum. Also welcome a new guest writer, Calliopenjo. With encouragement, maybe we'll see more from this writer in the future.
Enjoy,
Shadylady

Faithful Service, Silent Hearts by Lynette Mae Synopsis: Devon James is a young military intelligence officer learning that finding love under any
circumstances is difficult. But when your love is expressly forbidden by regulations and you are pursued by a relentless zealot, it can seem impossible. When Devon's assignment takes her to the war torn Middle East in the early days of terrorists targeting Americans, then things really get interesting. (Already #1 on the Athenaeum)
First Sighting by Lynette Mae Synopsis: This story is for everyone who believes in love. Can two hearts recognize each other the moment they meet? Call me hopelessly romantic, but I believe that when the real thing comes along, we know it instantly and we are fools to resist the inevitable.
Avalon by Calliopenjo Synopsis: On a forgotten island, far to the north in the cold waters that border Russia is a kingdom that is ruled by a sovereign eager to explore and to form an alliance with an American President. This is her story as she prepares to leave home many adventures await her. Read along as she tells her tale and finds an unexpected treasure. (Please
join us in welcoming this guest writer to The Sandbox
Finally after months of not being able to get onto the website to do updates due to a very busy personal schedule, The Sandbox is back in action. As long as we have stories to post we will continue to remain on the net. Join us in welcoming new writers and new stories which will be posted over the next few weeks.
Shadylady
Tonight The Sandbox is proud to post a new writer, Lynette Mae. Join us in welcoming her to the site along with 3 of her stories. She has submitted a novel which we will begin posting in parts with several chapters in each part.
The Grocery Store by Lynette Mae Synopsis: Even life¢s mundane tasks can be reinvented to stimulate our senses and remind us that the key to long term happiness is to keep ourselves open to any opportunity to express our love. Join us as one woman teaches her lover that when it comes to shopping, seduction is behind every item on the list.
Welcome Home by Lynette Mae Synopsis: Work is hard but made easier when someone is waiting to take away the stress. Join our officer as her partner eases the tension of the day in a unique way. (Warning - do not read at work)
The Promise by Lynette Mae Synopsis: To everyone who understands that love between sisters is a precious, unbreakable bond.
Charade by JBrownell Synopsis: Whitney Eisner leads a double life. In one she is a playgirl who travels and in the other she works for a secret agency that allows people from the future to travel into the past. Her life becomes even more complicated when she is implicated in a series of assaults on women travelers. When one of the women dies and Whitney is the only suspect, she
breaks all the rules when she reaches out to Atlanta Detective Lauren Shea for help. (This is the complete revised version)

At ten a.m. EST on TNT is the ER episode that Adrienne Wilkinson did
called Suffer the Little Children. I know, I waited until eight
minutes from show time to tell yall, but better late than never. I'm
recording it.
Hidey ho yall!
I started a wee group for us Xena Fan Fiction Authors to throw around
ideas to one another, and get character ideas, and plot ideas and what
not in. If you get stuck and write yourself into a corner like I know
I've done a million times, or need help on how a xena character would
act in a certain situation, or say in a certain situation, this is the
place to find out. Can figure out how to get Xena to throw her
chakram, and do somethingelse at the same time? Maybe a fellow bard
can help you out. That's what I made this group fer. Come on by and
giver a looksie.

This is a cinquain, a poem of 5 lines with 2, 4, 6, 8, 2 syllable line count. This configuration is a bit different and is of my own design - there is a mirrored cinquain in the middle. Hope you enjoy.

Spirit Birth
Hopping on grasping feet, their heads bobbing tempo with each raucous turn of the moon, they caw. Eyes roll with each grimaced shadow, nameless amongst the whispering deadfall -- arise! Shaman have infused wood with lore before tools mar the skin; their voices curl over shuddering wood, coaxing each moan of light until totem's spirit is free to roam.
Thank you, I been writing on these stories, to keep my sanity, while
taking my elder mother to cancer treatments. Those are finished now.
No hope there, so a nice place to escape to was imperitive. Five or six
books worth done so far. I am a beginner at this though.
As soon as I get someone else to read them over, I will send them for
posting, and thank you.

What is the genre? Maybe I know enough about them to be the requested beta reader. I also know of some Harry Potter genre (f/f related) stories that might could be posted if that genre is permitted. Let me know.
