There is a new epi on Sunday the 18th July at 9pm, the write up looks good and am assuming this will be the first epi not to have Colin/Stuart in it. I will be watching to see how they explain his absence.

Taggart

Showing Sunday July 18th on ITV1 at 9pm

This programme has been rated 3 stars(3 Star)

When compulsive gambler Craig Williams is found dead at a greyhound track with his pockets full of betting receipts, Burke and the team are called into investigate. While Reid and Ross break the news to Craig's ex-wife, Diane, Fraser and Burke pay a visit to the betting shop where Craig's winning receipts were from. Niall MacShane, the betting shop owner, and his streetwise son, Ged, claim they're unaware of Craig's mounting debts, although admit he owed them £700. Could this be motive enough for murder?

Megan,

There are another two to show of the last lot of filming.

New filming started in May and usually finishes in September/October (with summer break). The new episodes should total six.

Colin is in this one and the next two as these are the final series of the old contract (finished last year). The new series has been filming since May (six in No) so should be seen (hopefully) from October.

It should be noted that as the new series is being co-produced by STV. They have more control and want to keep the fanclub in the forefront.

I understand that the new series is being shown in October in Scotland and in the Spring UK wide.

There could be more news from STV via Jackie in the near future.

Hi All,

I will get this on the site sometime but thought you would all like to see it now.

Hi Jackie,
Are you still editing the site?  Hope you are well - been a long time since the
Convention.

Favour to ask - I'm now working in theatre, have got a show coming up next April
at the Above The Stag theatre in Victoria.  It's called "Cleveland Street The
Musical".  It's all about the notorious scandal in late Victorian London when
telegraph messenger boys were recruited to work in a male brothel at which Queen
Victoria's grandson, Prince Eddy, was supposedly a client.  This is my first
musical, quite a departure.

I have a website up and running   www.clevelandstreetthemusical.com    on it I
mention Taggart and I wondered if I linked it to your site, you might put a
"what's he doing now" piece in your Taggart facts and link it to my site.

Let me know if you can do this.

All best wishes,

Glenn

Hi All,

I'm a bit late with this news although I must admit I have known about it for a while! John is starring in a play called BREED which is currently running at Theatre 503 in Battersea, London.  It continues until 16th Oct.  Tickets cost £14.00 and full details are on the website www.theatre503.com.  By all accounts it's a pretty powerful story.  John tells me that it's going very well. Certainly from the attached picture John plays a different character to usual!

Pottering around on the internet over the weekend I found a little bit of a
treasure. There's a youtube clip of a young James Macpherson talking about
Taggart. It's on something called the Art Sutter show and looks to date back to
James' early years as Michael Jardine as they show a clip which has him racing
into a burning building to find Jim Taggart:

By the way, to save you watching the whole show, the relevant bit starts at
about the 3 minutes 40 into the show and ends about 9 minutes in.

Not sure whether I like the amped up version of Mean City! I was a
huge fan of the old version. Yes I agree it is as if he did not exist.
I wonder if there was a disagreement somewhere with the show and
that's why he got axed I guess because we know the character we don't
really know the person playing him.
