We have so many words of which we would like to know the origin. Can we start with a few?
Why "hapless"? Why are cricketers out for a duck and why are six balls an over? And. as a metaforos is a delivery man in Greece, where does the word metaphor come from?
We love Countdown - it keeps the brain ticking over nicely!
