The news that Reaper was replacing Supernatural on The CW's schedule, in the time-slot following Smallville, caused a tempest of emails and comments surprising only in its magnitude. I've received more mail on this than I've gotten on other big fan stories, like the cancellation of Journeyman and the killing off of Carson Beckett ... combined. My request to The CW for comment on the fan outrage elicited a response from Paul McGuire, The CW's network communications executive.

Heath Ledger Found Dead
Heath Ledger, the 28-year-old acclaimed Australian actor best known for his Oscar-nominated performance as a gay cowboy in Brokeback Mountain, was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment. He had just completed work on The Dark Knight, the Batman sequel due out July 18.
