Auditions for the Australian Institute for Performing Arts (AIPA)
will be returning to Mudgee this year to hold auditions for three
upcoming tours working in Film & TV.
The auditions will be conducted by Home and Away stars, Christie
Hayes (Kirsty) and Mitch Firth (Seb) on Monday, March 6 at the REPS
School of Dance in Horatio Street Mudgee from 9am to 4pm.

All auditions are by appointment and interested actors should go to
AIPA's website http://www.aipa.com.au and click on the AIPA Travel
icon on the home page. For further information, visit the site or
phone (02) 9966 4473.

AIPA's project manager Marg Haynes said the Home and Away stars are
finished on the show and are now helping young actors get the 'tools
of the trade'.

AIPA has come together with Grundy's Television and Royal South
Street to offer budding young actors between the ages of 10 and 19
the chance to audition for Grundy Television.

AIPA has also teamed up with the New York Film Academy (based at
Universal Studios, Hollywood) to provide dedicated teen actors the
opportunity to learn acting for film with some of the world's
leading professionals.

The Grundy TV tour takes young performers to the National Grundy
Screen test competition held in Ballarat and the winners are invited
to a screen test with Grundy's Australia in Melbourne whilst down in
Victoria.

These studios are where numerous shows are filmed each year.

There are two TV tours this year.

For 8 to 12 year olds the trip will be held from the 5th to 8th of
May; the tour for 13 to 18 year olds will be from the 4th to 7th of
August (inclusive).

AIPA is also opening auditions for an upcoming tour of Los Angeles,
California, taking in an intensive acting workshop with the New York
Film Academy at Universal Studios, Hollywood. Participants will have
the chance to record a professional piece for their show reel and
then preview it in the viewing theatre just as industry
professionals do. The idea of this tour is to replicate the
experience of working as a professional actor for a big studio. NYFA
is the top film acting school in America and the audition process
and selection will be tough. The Film Tour will be held from the
26th of September to the 15th of October.

To ensure that selected locals are ready for each project, AIPA will
send its tutors back to each audition center for two private
training sessions with successful applicants.

AIPA's project manager Marg Haynes said that "AIPA is dedicated to
providing opportunities to ALL young performers where ever they may
live."
