A Walk of Fame Star for Barry Morse   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #253 of 769 |
Hello!

Actor Barry Morse has been working in all facets of the entertainment
business for now more than 75 years – in television, radio, and on stage
and screen. He has been honored in other English-speaking countries with
various awards and commendations – and he is the recipient of five Best
Actor awards for his work in Canadian television.

But did you know that Barry has never been honored for his contributions
to American television? We would like to solicit your help to remedy this
situation!

Barry’s varied work on American television over many years deserves to be
recognized. As you know, he co-starred in the classic ABC television
series "The Fugitive" with David Janssen and in the syndicated science
fiction series "Space: 1999" with Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. His
work also includes roles on countless TV mini-series and guest-starring
roles on numerous classic TV series.

A Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame recognizes a life-long contribution
of both public and peer appreciation, and is a permanent monument of the
past, as well as the present. The Walk of Fame encompasses some five
acres of bronze stars, each containing the name of an artist and a
distinctive emblem identifying in which of the five categories -- Motion
Pictures, Television, Radio, Recording, or Live Theatre -- the recipient
has been honored. We intend to submit Barry Morse for consideration in
the Television category.

The current cost of a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is currently
$15,000.00 dollars. This includes the cost to manufacture and install the
Star, as well as the cost of the public ceremony in Hollywood. Barry
Morse is not the type of person to personally pay for an honor – he would
more than likely donate the money to charity! Therefore, we have decided
to approach his fans; those folks who have so enjoyed his television work
over the years.

Two separate levels at which you may donate have been created:

SPONSOR
As Sponsor, each person who donates $225.00 will be invited to attend the
Star-studded Walk of Fame ceremony in Hollywood as Barry Morse’s guest and
then join him for a Private Reception (exact location to be determined)
following the event. You will also receive a signed and personalized
photograph from Mr. Morse at the Reception, and a listing in the Event
Program. Please note: Your donation will not include accommodations or
transportation to Los Angeles. One guest (friend or family member) may
join you at the Reception for an additional $50.00.

SUPPORTER
A Supporter is a fan or friend who would like to donate to this worthy
cause, but realized that he/she will be unable to attend the actual
Ceremony in Hollywood. Your contribution of $50.00 will entitle you to a
signed photograph from Mr. Morse (to be delivered after the Star
Ceremony).

Contributions to the ‘Star Fund’ can be made via check or money order, or
via major credit card through Paypal. Please email the ‘Star Fund’ at
starparty1@... to initiate your donation to this worthy project.

Thank you in advance for your support! Please pass this information to
anyone who might be interested.

Sincerely,
Robert E. Wood & Anthony Wynn
