If you go to the HBO website for the Sopranos there is a contest to enter.
Deadline is June 9th (my birthday by the way <g>) and you can enter to win
either a trip to New York to see live filming of the show or other Soprano
merchandise.

What's up with this? I need a T shirt, cup and hat...

These rip off artists on ebay are selling T shirts which are probably poor
replicas of what HBO will offer --

Does anyone know when the HBO merchandise will be sold?

Please post or email me

Thanks

Hi guys (and gals). I am, believe it or not, the host of this whole..list
thingy. And I truly do apologize for not keeping this list...more alive than
it has been, but I simply haven't had time. I know I know..it's simply an
excuse, but blah. Anyway, I'll have some sort of an idea, or something to
make you feel that joining this list wasn't simply a waste of your time. Once
again, a few people can only keep up so much conversation. So, with that
said, maybe people might want to introduce themselves, or something like
that. Tell where you're from, things like that. I don't know what folks like
to talk about. And don't hesitate to start up a conversation. Don't let the
'topic' of this list keep you from talking about other things that might be
current, or things that simply interest you, or anything! Pardon me, if this
e-mail seems rushed, and ill written, but well, I am sort of in a rush.
Unless of course, someone has an essay already written on the invisible man,
which outlines three major themes in the story >; ).

All the same, I will start with introducing myself!

My name is Veronica, I live in detroit (michigan), and i'm er..14. I'm a
freshman in high school, and hm. I have many interests, mostly
telecommunications related. Next year I will be taking an advanced computer
class at my high school, although i plan to be doing something telephony
related when I 'grow up'. My favorite color is pink, and my favorite book is
the catcher in the rye..there. I said a bunch of stuff..

Hope to see everyone engaging in heavy conversation the next time I check my
email!

Brandon,

Like you I joined after the season was over & haven't seen any correspondence.
I'm hoping when the re-runs start in June this site will see some
action.

HBO does all of their series like that. They run thriteen episodes and then
they wait until the summer to shoot new ones. OZ is not coming on until
July.

Hey, I'm new here, just thought I would jump right in and ask some
questions. Specifically one. Is anybody else pissed off that the new

Merchandise

There's a little bit of Sopranos memorabilia for sale on ebay -- crazy prices
considering HBO sez they will be marketing stuff soon -- if anyone knows that
the HBO merchandise has become available for sale or when it will become
available please let me know -- I would love to have a mug, a hat, T-shirt
and a poster -- right not I ain't forking out $75 for the poster on sale at
ebay...or $35 for a bootleg T shirt...

Hello,

I've been waiting and waiting for this group to begin!!! I love this show,
it's the best show on cable (with Rude Awakenings a strong second). Anyway,
Livia has got to come back, like someone mentioned, there would be no reason
for Tony to see Melfi anymore. I like the comparison between Livia Soprano
and Empress Livia from I Claudius. If I recall, Tiberious came to hate Livia
so much he never made an attempt to have her killed even though he had the
power to do so. If she had lived, Caligula would have killed her.

Does anyone think there is something else going on with the priest? He
doesnt' seem like a priest to me, he's sorta lacking in the godly department
with all the gifts he accepts from mob wives.

Does anyone know about the ending song? It sounds like Springsteen to me.

hiya,

glad we got a conversation going.

as far as big mama's stroke goes i'm sure that next season it
will be diagnosed as being "a mild stroke since it doesn't seem
to show on the mri". she is faking the stroke as well as the
senility. she is in total control of events (more so than any
other character on the show). btw do we know how joe - tony's
father - met his maker? hmm.

as far as pussy's condition is concerned let us ponder this: he
has the only nickname(except for junior and that doesn't even
close to a name like pussy) and the entire schism in the family
arose when it was discovered that tony was in therapy and junior
ate pussy.

bada bing!

They don't have to explain her fooling the doctors concerning the stroke,
it's TV. According to David Chase (who should know) the story takes place in
North Bergen County. The highway he's riding on in the intro is route 1&9. I
don't think right now there is an active mob family in South Jersey because
the Philly family is a mess.

As for Junior telling the Feds that there's no way his nephew is in charge, I
suspect it's a
combination of an older made guy following omerta about never cooperating with
the cops. And
Junior's ego not wanting it to get out that the only reason he's boss is that
his nephew gave
it to him. Either way, he looks like a tough guy and we've seen how important
appearances are
to him.

Hi everyone. I'm so glad this list is perking up. The Sopranos has to be
the best written show out there. The actors are all perfect for their roles
and it just takes me back to my hometown of Brooklyn (even though it takes
place in Jersey) every week I watch it.

Anyway, Livia definitely has to come back next season. Who would give Tony
that much agida to have to continue seeing the psychiatrist. I think she's
faking it and I think we can look forward to much more trouble from her next
season (I hope so anyway). I definitely agree the show should walk away with
as many Emmy's it will be nominated for.

As for Pussy, well I think they'll find him hiding out in Atlantic City with
a bunch of babes and the champagne flowing. I'm sure that will cure what
ever ails him, LOL.

How do you know Pussy's dead? Who killed him Mikey? And why? I think next

I don't want to believe it but I think Tony will somehow forgive Livia. She
has such a spell on him that I think it's possible. There's no way though
that she can play that Alzheimers card though. I think she would have to
acknowledge that that's bs. I like your angle on Junior being Tony's father,
that would add some great tension. Do you think Junior was protecting Tony
when he replied that his nephew "the stooge" could never be the boss or is
he just that dillusional? As far as Pussy, I don't know what to think but
I'm sure the writers will come up with something original. Could you imagine
a Soprano's movie?

Hi again,
OK, if they do bring Livia back, how will she get
back in Tony's good graces? You have to assume she will
try because if he never speaks to her again, she would
not have much of a story line. I think, she will tell
him that she was under mental strain and will agree to
seek help (maybe Dr. Melfi). You are right about the
connection between her and the historical Livia. If you
ever want to see a good characterization of the
historical Livia, watch I Claudius. It is wonderful.
I also think Junior is going to turn out to be
Tony's father. That would be the only way he could be
forgiven. Finally, why do you say Pussy is dead? Did I
miss something.

Until next time,
Tisha

hi,
finally! thank you!! she is definitely faking and i think she
is grinning because tony ends up looking like a horrible son and
no one would ever believe a sweet little old lady could ever do
any such thing to a mafia kingpin. as an aside re:"LIVIA."
historically, (i am a little vague on all the particulars)livia
was the wife of the first and/or the second emperors of Rome. she
was the mother of tiberius who was the third emperor of Rome.
she was truly devious in her manipulations of all three. she had
one minor quirk which was that when she felt that she was loosing
control she would poison one in order to put her next puppet on
the throne. unfortunately she died after killing tiberius so she
wasn't around to do in caligula. once again i am a little vague
on my history but you get the gist.
they must bring her back, especially after she wins an Emmy for
best supporting. i predict sopranos will sweep the Emmys. if i
remember correctly (my memory is shot) Nancy M. won one of the
first Emmys for her role in Marty.
	 Pussy is dead! BADA BING!!

There are no coincidences!

Hi there,
Do you think Livia was smiling because Tony knows
she wanted him dead or was she just out of it from the
stroke? By the way did she really have a stroke, or is
she just faking it?
If they bring her back next season, I can't imagine
how they can redeem her character. Obviously neither
Tony or Junior will ever trust her again.
What do you think happened to Pussy?
I look forward to discussing this show with
everyone.

doesn't anyone have anything to say about the hospital corridor scene between
tony and livia or the surprise ending of the final episode?
why does the most exciting show on tv have the dullest list on the net?
