Last weekend, Richard Biggs, Doctor Franklin on Babylon 5, passed away unexpect

at the age of 44. While I never had the chance to really talk with him the coup

of times I visited the set, I did see him at Agamemcon and feel for those who w

Summer Schedules Set

For the broadcast networks, it's time for summer series to take over and
several shows to disappear for the summer or move around.

FOX - As with prior years, 24 will not repeat this summer.
Tru Calling will repeat, running in it's fall time slot at 9 pm ET/PT

ABC - Alias may not repeat this summer. With Alias not returning until January,
ABC may not run repeats this summer or not as many as in the past.

The WB - Angel is no longer on the schedule and they appear to be double runnin
g
Smallville on Wednesdays to start the summer off with. They have also stopped
(again) running the Smallville: Beginnings on Sundays.

CBS - Joan of Arcadia looks to be running and extra episode on Thursdays
at 8 pm ET/PT to start off the summer.

SciFi - Scare Tactics and Tripping the Rift appear to not be repeating on Thurs
day
nights with movies being scheduled in June. All 13 Rift episodes have aired bu
t
there should still be a few Season Two Scare Tactics episodes left to air. Bas
ed
on recent ratings reports on SciFi Wire, Tripping the Rift and Scare Tactics ha
ve
been at less than a .9 household rating in recent airings.

5ive Days to Midnight Now Runs Four Days

SciFi has changed their scheduling of 5ive Days to Midnight. Instead of runnin
g the
series one hour each night for a week, the opening night, Monday, June 7th, wil
l
see the first two hours of the mini-series air as a two hour presentation start
ing
at 9 pm ET/PT with the remaining three hours on Tues, Wed and Thur at 9 pm ET/P
T.
They will still air all five hours back to back on June 13 starting at 6 pm ET/
PT.

New Doctor Who Companion Cast

The BBC has announced who will be playing the companion for the new Doctor Who
series.
Joining Christopher Eccleston's Doctor as Rose Tyler will be Billie Piper, a te
en pop
star who has been moving into acting with much better results than Britney Spea
rs.
