SFTV News and Info

The Season So Far - Hits, Misses and Maybes

Of the new genre shows so far, it looks like Joan of Arcadia is definitely
doing the best coming out of the gate, winning it's time slot each week
except for one Cubs playoff game. The WB's tandem of Smallville and Angel
are doing very well leading to less than spectacular ratings for Enterprise
and Jake 2.0. Sunday nights for the WB has Charmed continuing to do well
with Tarzan doing fair following it. ABC's Alias is doing OK ratings,
comparable to regular episodes at the beginning of last season. Threat
Matrix and L.A. Dragnet on ABC are both getting low ratings.

The WB has given a full season order to Angel and CBS has ordered
additional scripts for Joan of Arcadia with a full season pickup very
likely. There may be changes in store for some of the struggling series
as the November sweeps start up next week.

Jeremiah Hiatus Update

There's been no official word in regards to the short run of Jeremiah to
start off the second season (there will be two episodes each week for
Oct 31st and Nov 7th and then nothing scheduled the rest of November).
The show replacing it, The Next Episode, is a six week series so it is
likely that Jeremiah will resume in January after it ends.

Spike TV Animated Shows Pulled

Spike TV has yanked completely their animated shows. Gary The Rat was in
the midst of a run of new episodes with Stripperella on about the fifth
time through (albeit now with an expanded, two-part, first episode).

Baseball Pre-emptions

With the success of the Baseball Championship series, NBC and CBS ran
last minute repeats for shows including CSI last Thursday night. If the
World Series goes seven games, expect ABC to run a repeat of Alias on
Oct 26th like they have done the last two years.

SFTV Schedule Notes

Stargate SG-1 in Syndication - The episode order is varying in syndication
from the order that was aired originally on SciFi. Since MGM doesn't seem
to make available any schedule info on their official website, there won't
be much advance info there.

Starhunter Syndicated - The listing services seem to not be getting any
episode details for the syndicated Starhunter airings now and the official
site hasn't been updated past episode 5. It appears to have disappeared
from a few stations as well, including WWOR. I'll be assuming they will
continue in the same order that Space is airing it.

Justice League Weekday repeats - According to the Cartoon Network's web site,
they will be repeating the initial episodes of season two at 5:30 pm ET/PT
Mon-Thur over the next couple of weeks. Regular TV listings still show
Samauri Jack in that time slot. If you missed one of the new episodes,
you've got a chance to catch them (or get them in the half hour format).

Firefly & Odyssey 5 on Space - Those of you in Canada will finally get to
see the unaired episodes of Firefly and Odyssey 5 on Space: The Imagination
Station. I've started carrying the first run airings of both series on
Space for those able to get it.

The SFTV Schedules list consists of the roughly bi-weekly
SFTV Schedules mailing. It is a moderated newsletter type
list. SFTV News is a news and info oriented mailing list
that can be posted to by any subscriber. Traffic is a
nywhere from five messages a day to zero, so it is not a
heavy traffic list. SFTV Talk is a discussion list, so
message traffic varies.
