This reason I ask is because I have been playing with setting up a
Wiki for another site and it occured to me that a Wiki may be a
perfect setup to work on a virtual series.
Here is an example of a Wiki:
http://oblivion.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page
Not the best example but it would people an idea of how it works.
We have had alot of new people join the group. Has everyone had the
chance to read the three episodes that we have completed? Here is a
link if you want to read them
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/saab-tvs/files/Episodes/
With all this renewed interest why don't we try putting together an
outline for a fourth episode. Does anyone have any sugestions or
topics that they are interested in?
If you recall episode 1 Tellus did have an atmosphere compatible with human
life. The "egg" planet in the next to last episode didn't have an
atmosphere compatible with humans in fact it was the only planet where we
see a chig out of his environment suit. I believe Tellus was a burial
ground though. Remember the women hiding in the caves?

Wow, that's cool. I never put that together. So maybe
they need a specific environment to spawn?
One thing though, did Tellus have atmosphere that
humans could breath? Or were they planning on
terraforming and there by changing the atmosphere?
Because, don't chigs breath a different atmospere?
Any one want to hazard a guess on their "religious"
views on procreation? Do we think the chigs play
around with DNA to create their different sects? I
could be really wrong, but wasn't the chig's ship that
the 58th captured bioengineered? I'm just wondering
what the chigs might be capable if they had access to
the human genetic mapping used to create invitros.
On a different topic, Anyone want to hazard a guess on
the relationship between the chigs and the ah...

Here I go......
1) I think it could be cultural. Because of how they look at humans. They
are probably terrified to become prisoners. Maybe it's a fear of being
eaten, since they are sort insectoids. (Although I could be mistaken about
that.)
That is based on the eggs being laid
in the nest we see later.
2) I agree that the young are raised by which ever groups they belong too.
I think they have workers, warriors and probably some sort of thinkers or
religious groups out there. What do you think of that.
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Ok, I'm game to follow up on a few of these ideas. How
about we brainstorm what we know about these chigs.
I'll start with what I can remember (it's been awhile)
1: The first chig they captured killed itself (by
drinking water or poison) rather than allowing itself
to be taken alive. Do we think that's a cultural
tendancy or unique to the particular chig they
captured?
2:I remember the 58th running across some sort of chig
nursery... So that means chigs are hatched sort of...
I guess what I'm really getting at is a chig doesn't
grow up knowing a single mother father family unit. It
probably more identifies family as the group of
siblings it hatched with?
Ok, chip in Y'all.
:)

Good point! So do you think having an episode of
newsmedia people under the influence of the Chig's
fear weapon is over kill. As of now we have McQueen on
earth recovering from the leg injury and it seemed
like we needed to give him a hard reminder that his
kids were out in space fighting without him.
I'm sure we can all agree that the guy isn't ever
going to be happy with a desk job. But in our current
episodes he just seems a little too comfortable and
issolated from the war. Does anyone have any thoughts
on other ways for the war to reach him out there on
that farm that he's staying on?

Hi all,
I went to remove Eodski@... from our list but someone must have
beaten me to it.
Two more new members joined us today and one even has writer as part
of their member name. Whoo Hoo!
To catch up on what we have written you can go to
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/saab-tvs/files/Episodes/
let me know if that doesn't work and I can send you the past episodes.
Also, we are trying to hash out a plot for episode 2.4 so let us know
if you have any thoughts or suggestions.
He is no gentleman but a fool.
After 13 years of spam I simply delete without even
thinking. Obviously he is an IT newbie with too
overclear views on what is right and wrong as well
as his position in the universe and its importance.
He should just grow up a little.
Keep the episodes coming as I am actually watching
the series again just now as I write. A real pity that it died
so early although I found the overwhelming emphasis on
personal hangups to be a bit OTT

Considering how close the Chigs came to attacking earth, and the bloody battles
already fought,
I would seriously doubt that anyone on earth needs to be whipped up to
appreciate just how
serious the situation is. The casualties alone would take care of that. We are
facing an
enemy that kills the wounded and has savagely attacked defenceless colonists;
not hard to
make them look pretty evil, not to mention any good PR campaign can do a lot
more with less.

Hey, no need to sign up for writing any of it. But it
would be great if you could jot down any thoughts or
brain storming to add to the plot outline. I don't
mind writing as long as the outline has been fleshed
out alittle by the group.
Here's what I would really like to hear opinions on:
for the proposed scene one, what sort of intelligence
would the AI's be giving to the chigs?
People back on earth are probably getting a little
tired of financially supporting a war that they don't
really see. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone,
but if the war was instigated by the company sending
the tellus colonists out there, it might be time to do
something to rally more support for the war if it's
going to continue. In that light, would it be enough
to have the AI's giving information to the chigs that
would mislead the chigs into attacking a ship full of
tv media people with cameras? And if it's that easy to
keep the war going, how "smart" are Chigs anyway? Do
they think so differently from us that they wouldn't
know they were being used?
And subject # 2 what sort of fear do we think Hyland
will exibit under the influence of the fear gun?
Cooper- claustrophobic
Vanessa- blood
Also, can someone watch this episode and remind me
what Shane and Nathan did under the fear wepon's
influence?
Scene 1. AIs giving the Chigs intelligance trying to
build a
conspiracy theory here, the AI's are giving specific
info on the
58th mission to bring Media big wigs out to meet and
greet the
troops. AI's are working for Aerotech. Aerotech wants
the convoy
ambushed so that everyone on earth steps up their
support of the
war. Specifially Aerotech wants approval on developing
a super
pricey experimental space craft. however, the chigs
can't know any of this or they wouldn't attack because
a, they don't like aerotech, and B don't want the war
to continue.
Scene 2. Started with a short little pre mission
breefing scene.
Mission breifing. Think big people mover type ship.
Assignments:
Hyland, West & Vansen piloting?
Damphousse, Low and Keegan ship guns? Hawkes, Hill,
Stone, and
Laterner babysit cargo (media circus)?
Scene 3. On the way to pick up the media circus the
radar
malfunctions or has strange readings?
Scene 4. Intro the media circus. The 58th has to get
all of those
big egos and their equipment onto the transport.
Scene 5. On the mission, Hill finds out that the
religious group is
real rather than the prank he thought it was.
Scene 6. Begin attack. Up to the author as to how much
warning they
have.
Scene 7. (McQueen scene? He could be walking through a
store in town where the TV is on and everyone is
watching this news feed.) Live news feed back on earth
of the attack (maybe blair witch type of feel. It'll
be the media people reacting to the effects of the
fear gun transmitting the chaos on the disabled ship.
Fear weapon going off during the broadcast causing
the
feed to end in horrible violence and chaos causing a
rattled anchor man to step in.
Scene 8. Battle scene with the group manning the ships
guns. One of the charaters needs to die. We simply
have too many. My
recommendations would be Low, or Stone and have it
happen where
Vanessa will either deal, or lose it. Slow or fast
death is the
author's call.
Scene 9. Battle climax. Our pilot crew lucks their way
in to losing the enemy despite the effects of the fear
gun. (By the way, what do we think Hyland's fear will
be?)
Scene 10. Take stock. Any escort fighters left?
Casualty report?
Passengers' status? Contact the Saratoga.

Any chance you might be in the mood to write some fan fiction? Would
you like to read one of the episodes we have written? We are currently
in the begining stages of hashing out a plot for Episode 2.4.
that's season 2 episode 4. It took me a while to figure that out so I
thought I would just clarify.
Actually the episode was interesting. But as to me witting one. RL keeps
me very busy! I'll try to write a response for the new ones!
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Are we popular or what?
Ok, Chris and Chris. I'll send you both a direct email with the
episodes that we have written so far since you two seem to be the only
ones that aren't up to date. Hopefully reading our episodes will
inspire you to either write the one missing scene in episode 2.3 or at
the very least give some feed back on the proposed 2.4 plot line??
Actually, lets be honest everyone. Since no one has responded either
positively or negatively about the proposed outline for 2.4 I'm
thinking there isn't any interest in it. Which means no writers (not
good).
So why don't we come up with something different that maybe a few of
you would be excited to work with. Thoughts?
Hi there. Erm, I'm new and I'd be interested in reading the stuff you've written
so far. I was deeply dissapointed to find out there weren't going to be any more
and I can't wait till I can get a hold of the box set on dvd. I'd also like to
help out if it's at all possible.
My names Chris, by the way. Umm, thanks.

Here is the plot for episode 2.3. I marked which scene still needs
to be written.
1)Opening- Chigs attack the methane planet. (finished)
2)Blair and Hyland interchange.
(He announces his clearence to go with the 58th
on their methane mission)
(The only scene that hasn't been written. I'm starting to wonder if
we even need this scene)
3)58th gets briefed on their next mission, Gear's
up, Hill's new call sign becomes an issue. (finished)
4)Landing and Deploying on planet. (Humorus pig
encounters)(finished)
5)AI's get into a shoot out with the 58th -skrzat
6)Blair sneaks off, Hyland follows him to an old IV
facility. (Blair sets a bomb, AI's show up, Hyland
pockets evidence)(finished)
7)Vansen and 58th find and rescue Hyland and Blair -skrzat
8)back on the saratoga -Hill gets another religious
flier (finished)
9)Hyland privatly reviews the evidence she found at
the facility. (finished)
It's been awhile, so let me know if anyone wants me to send the
written scenes out so that people can reaquaint themselves with it.
