It is an interesting re-interpretation, IMO.

Very much in the new tradition of the made-over Dr Who (plenty of
nudge, wink gags like the I Shot The Sherriff one).

Robin looks a bit of a twerp and most unlordly which rather undermines
the basic premise of his background.
