Heyya, Buffy/Whedonverse fans!

Just a belated update on TV Vote (extended to 6 million votes):

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

(ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into
the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I
recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have
trouble voting.)

(Previous day's stat, for comparison purposes)

Thursday, Firefly got 1,073 votes (1,080).

On Sunday, Firefly reached half a million votes! What a shiny banner
we got! You can still view (as well as download) it at:

http://richlabonte.net/happy/firefly.htm

Buffy got 537 (521) votes, Thursday. Having passed The X-Files to take
#7, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Battlestar
Galactica, which received 521 (540) votes. At current rates of voting,
this will take 1,553.69 days, or, about 4.26 years.

Angel got 457 (449) votes, and, having passed Stargate SG-1, is now
set to overtake #11 show Lexx in 6.89 (8.22) days.

Finally, classic vampire show Dark Shadows got 437 (454) votes, and,
having entered the Top 40 last Sunday, is now set to overtake #39 show
Cleopatra 2525 in 4.3 (4.92) days.

Please make sure that any votes you cast for Dark Shadows are in the
Top 40 poll (one of the three links, above); any write-in votes will
not count and are wasted.

A deep and sincere thank you very much to everyone who is voting for
Dark Shadows! Many thanks go to all the Browncoats, Buffyverse fans,
and, also, BSG Colonials who have stepped up to vote. With the help of
these friends (being reciprocated out of gratitude by the Dark Shadows
voters), we got Dark Shadows up into the Top 40, where it can get the
attention it deserves, as a well-loved classic TV show!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great
shows! I post daily stats and projections at:

Moonlight got 97 (107) votes, Thursday, passing Third Watch 2,478,

Rockford Files 2,419.

(A LOT has happened since the November post to which this is a reply!)

Heyya, Buffy/Whedonverse fans!

A New Years update on TV Vote:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

(ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into
the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I
recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have
trouble with your hourly voting.)

Last year, the Whedonverse did pretty well on TV Vote. Firefly took #1
in August, then, just last month, hit an unprecedented 500,000 total
votes. At that point, Firefly still held an unchallenged 10% of all
votes ever cast.

As of yesterday, that is no longer the case; Firefly now holds 9% of
the vote total. Our daily votes have been falling, and, other shows,
especially #3 show, Bonanza, are catching up.

A reliable, inside source has informed your humble reporter that the
TV Vote poll will go on for at least another year, though it will be
moving to its own, dedicated site, rather than remaining a part of
Richlabonte.net, sometime in the near future.

That means that, if we can get enough votes in between now and the end
of that year, approximately 1,350/day, Firefly could reach a million
votes before the poll closes! Impossible? Not at all. Firefly was
pulling down better daily numbers than that, last summer. And, even if
we don't reach the full 1 million, we will maintain our lead over the
rest of the pack, and, achieve a total for our shiny, little 14
episode show which no other fandom can claim.

Buffy passed The X-Files to take #7. Buffy is currently not receiving
enough votes to pass #6 show Battlestar Galactica, which, itself, is
on track to take the #5 spot from Farscape, this month. In that case,
Buffy will definitely have a chance to pass Farscape, particularly if
we can get Buffy's numbers back to their November and December highs.

Angel overtook #11 show Lexx; however, it is not currently receiving
enough votes to pass #10 show Combat, unless, again, it picks up the
votes it was receiving in November and December. Angel is also now
receiving fewer daily votes than Little House in the Prairie, and, is
at risk to be passed by the charming and agrarian Ingalls family.

Finally, classic vampire show Dark Shadows, whose voters have been
firm and supportive friends (and, many convertees) of Firefly and the
Buffyverse, finally having entered the Top 40, is now set to overtake
#37 show Alias. Browncoat and Buffyverse voters are encouraged to
support the "Vampire Flans," most of whom vote for your shows, as well.

Please make sure that any votes you cast for Dark Shadows are in the
Top 40 poll (one of the three links, above); any write-in votes will
not count and are wasted.

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great
shows! I post daily stats and projections at:

Heyya, Buffy/Whedonverse fans!

An update on TV Vote:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into
the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I
recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have
trouble voting (until the site change this Sunday).

REMEMBER:

As of tomorrow morning, Sunday, January 13th, we will vote at the new
site at:

http://www.tvvote.tv

http://tvvote.tv

...for a trial run. You can use those links, or, just use the old one
and take the redirect. Best to retain the original links, in case
there is a problem, and, the Poll reverts to the original site.

You can vote for more than one show at a time; just check all the
boxes you like, then submit your vote, once every hour, per IP
address. Don't go to the library and vote from every computer, for
example; they'll all be thrown out as duplicate votes.

(Previous day's stat, for comparison purposes)

Friday, Firefly got 1,094 votes (1,154). Great for a Friday!

Buffy got 467 (539) votes, Friday. Currently, Buffy is not currently
receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Battlestar Galactica, which
received 573 (539) votes.

Angel got 383 (431) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to
pass #10 show Combat! which received 381 (412) votes in 5,553.5
(584.68) days, or, 15.22 (1.6) years.

Finally, classic vampire show Dark Shadows got 418 (420) votes, and,
is now set to overtake #37 show Northern Exposure in 1.76 (2.72) days.

Please make sure that any votes you cast for Dark Shadows are in the
Top 40 poll (in which you click a box next to the title to vote); any
write-in votes will not count and are wasted.

A deep and sincere thank you very much to everyone who is voting for
Dark Shadows! Many thanks go to all the Browncoats and Buffyverse fans
who have stepped up to vote. With the help of these friends (being
reciprocated out of gratitude by the Dark Shadows voters), we got Dark
Shadows up into the Top 40, where it can get the attention it
deserves, as a well-loved classic TV show!

For those who are interested in CBS' vampire show, Moonlight, in the
Nominations Poll (the "NOMS" link at the bottom of the main voting page):

"Trailer Park Boys (2001)."

Greetings, Whedonverse fans!

An update on TV Vote:

Due to problems with the new site, as of Sunday, January 20th, we are permanently back up and running at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting.

You can vote for more than one show at a time; just check all the boxes you like, then submit your vote, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour.

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Firefly, while still handily in control of the #1 spot in the Poll, is in dire need of some support; daily vote totals have dropped off, of late. On Sunday, Firefly got 839 votes (864), and, is 88,390 (88,023) votes ahead of #2 show Xena. However, we had been accustomed to daily vote totals in excess of 1,000, and, we will need to get back above 1,000 to hope to achieve a full 1 million votes before the poll ends next January.

However, at this pace, we're losing ground, in terms of voting power, to Bonanza, which we formerly routinely doubled in daily votes, and, which now gets 60% or more of our daily total, and rising. So, help us out, voters!

In other TV Vote news:

#7 show Buffy got 363 (357) votes, Sunday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 263 (269) votes, Sunday, in 257.94 (294.25) days. However, if we could get Buffy's daily vote totals back over 500, where they were in November and December, it would only take 129 days or less to pass Farscape.

Additionally, there could be a real fight between Buffy and Farscape for the 6th Hall of Fame position, achieved when a show reaches 250,000 total votes. Despite Buffy being well down from her peak vote numbers, the projected dates of both shows are less than a month apart, and still 6 months away:

6. Farscape: 203,887 (302 average daily votes over the past 7 days) Will reach Hall of Fame in 153 days (29 Jun).
7. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: 178,093 (421 a
verage daily votes over the past 7 days) Will reach Hall of Fame in 171 days (17 Jul).

If Buffy's average votes were to push up to at least 500, or if Farscape fades further now that BSG has passed it, Buffy could definitely get there first. It's definitely doable, and, something to shoot for! Getting to 250,000 votes first also includes passing Farscape to take 6th place, and, returning to challenge BSG, again, this time for 5th place.

#11 show Angel got 273 (290) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass #10 show La Femme Nikita, which received 169 (155) votes, yesterday, in 79 (75.67) days. However, #12 show Little House on the Prairie got 352 (355) votes, and, is on track to pass Angel in 35.43 (44.28) days.

The Landonites probably don't think we notice the stealthy Ingalls clan moving up, stakes in hand, ready to usurp the #11 position. Angel has already proven it can easily achieve daily vote totals in excess of 400, which would not only stave off LHOP, it would also accelerate the pace to take #10. If Angel got at least an average of 400 daily votes, at this point, it would take only 44 days, or less, to pass La Femme Nikita.

Finally, on Sunday, classic vampire show Dark Shadows got 361 (408) votes, and, overtook #35 show The Simpsons! Again, your support of Dark Shadows (whose fans also vote in support of the Whedonverse!) would be greatly appreciated!

To view episodes of Dark Shadows online as free, streaming Video, go to:

www.guba.com

...and, type "Dark Shadows" into the Search Guba box. They're not in any particular order, but, they are labeled:

Dark Shadows - 1-030 - 030 - VHS2XviD.avi, for example, is season 1, episode 30, which is also episode 30 of the entire series. Keep in mind that Jonathan Frid first appeared as vampire Barnabas Collins in episode #210. However, the character's hand was briefly seen in the climax to episode #209, prior to Frid's introduction.

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

Total votes Moonlight 7,962 (7,703)

Moonlight got 259 (212) votes, Sunday, passing Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood 7,954, Grey's Anatomy 7,877, and, The Black Donnellys 7,848.

Ni-Howdy, Browncoats,

Would you like to have Cedric from the Bedlam Bards perform at your
local Can't Stop the Serenity screening? Well, here's how:

In order to raise both funds and awareness for Equality Now, I am
auctioning myself on eBay. Well, technically, I'm auctioning a
performance at the Can't Stop the Serenity screening of your choice.
Even better, the profits from the auction go to the CSTS screening of
your choice, so it's a double whammy, but in a good way!

But wait, that's not all! You also get steak knives. Steak knives? To
heck with the gorram steak knives, you get something a lot shinier
than that.

A number of Browncoat artisans and celebrities have come forward to
donate these prizes which the auction winner GETS TO KEEP:

-Autographed Poster* {from Quantum Mechanix}
-Autographed Bedlam Bards CDs
-Autographed Done The Impossible DVD and Soundtrack CD {from Brian
Wiser}
-Autographed Browncoat Cruise Souvenir Book {from Brian Wiser}
-Independent Flag {from Firefly Cargo Bay}
-Jayne Hat {from Ma Cobb's Hat Shoppe
www.geocities.com/fadingendlessly}
-Mal's Holster and Ammo Belt** {from www.browncoatfashions.com}
-Plus a built-up Mal Pistol***, Jayne Pistol, grenade, PAL
Communicator and a Zoe 'Mare's Leg' Winchester {from Wilco models}

*Poster autographed by: Fillion, Tudyk, Minear, Fairman, Edmonson,
Woodward, Sonny Rhodes, Nectar Rose, Adam Levermore-Rich (who did the
art for the poster), and the Bedlam Bards. A similar poster fetched
over $150 at auction

**Holster and Ammo Belt - The "standard" gun belt size will fit
people with hips in the range of 40 to 50 inches. The winner should
specify their actual hip measurement if they need a gun belt larger
or smaller in size. The holster and gun belt come with an ammo pouch
suitable for carrying an extra set of clips, a cell phone, or an
iPod. It's like the one Mal wore in Serenity. This item typically
sells for $160 + S&H

*** The Wilco Models replica of Mal's Pistol fits in the Browncoat
Fashions holster.

Wow, if I weren't ineligible, I'd be bidding just to win that stuff!

So here's the info on the auction:

Item number: 120225274158

http://tinyurl.com/26qxts

This listing lasts only 10 days, so bid early and bid often!

Please be sure to read the whole listing before bidding; the winner
will have to pay the "shipping costs" for getting me to the screening
and putting me up while in your part of the 'verse.

I'll see you at your screening,

Cedric
www.BedlamBards.com

P.S. Please feel free to spread the word and post this message
everywhere you can. Let the whole gorram 'verse know what we
Browncoats are doing!

Greetings, Whedonverse fans!

An update on the TV Vote Poll:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting.

You can vote for more than one show at a time; just check all the boxes you like, then submit your vote, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Firefly, while still handily in control of the #1 spot in the Poll, is in dire need of some support; daily vote totals have dropped off, of late. On Wednesday, Firefly got 980 votes (1,025), a pretty poor showing, for mid-week ='[.]'=. We had been accustomed to regular daily vote totals well in excess of 1,000, and, we will need to get back above 1,000 to hope to achieve a full 1 million votes before the poll ends next January. #2 show Xena, on the other hand, got 707 votes (531), an unprecedented increase of 176 daily votes! Either the Xenites are getting an early start for Lucy Lawless' birthday, next month, or, they have decided to challenge us, again. Either way, we can't be havin' them within 300 votes of our daily total. That's just humiliatin'.

At this pace, we're losing ground, in terms of voting power, to Xena, which we formerly routinely doubled in daily votes, and, which now gets 70% or more of our daily total, and rising. So, help us out, voters!

In other TV Vote news:

#7 show Buffy got 546 (540) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 360 (355) votes, yesterday, in 113.03 (114.65) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 56,164 (56,710) votes, and, 102.86 (105.02) days, away, while Farscape is only 97.61 (100) days from getting there, first.

#11 show Angel got 468 (473) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass #10 show La Femme Nikita, which received 151 (166) votes, yesterday, in 6.91 (8.17) days. #12 show Little House on the Prairie got 347 (309) votes, and, is not currently receiving enough votes to pass Angel.

Classic vampire show Dark Shadows (#34) got 457 (486) votes, and, is set to overtake #33 show JAG, which got 175 (180) votes, in .35 (1.25) days. Dark Shadows will be the #33 show, tomorrow! Thanks for your help achieving that goal!

Finally, #43 show (#3 in the Nominations Poll) Blood Ties got 520 (506) votes, and, is on track to overtake #42 show The Professionals, which got 156 (136) votes, in 4.77 (5.68) days.

To view streaming video of all 22 episodes of Blood Ties (which comprise the first 2 seasons) for free, go to:

http://tinyurl.com/3xlbjh

The "Select an episode" box allows you to do just that.

Finally, in a scenario which should be all too familiar, the future of Blood Ties is still up in the air; Lifetime has not yet committed to a third season. A growing coalition of BT fans have started a Yahoo group to share information and to coordinate efforts to encourage the renewal of this show:

http://tinyurl.com/22ps2c

Again, your support of Dark Shadows and Blood Ties (whose fans also vote in support of the Whedonverse!) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

We have set a goal of 55 cities this year. so if your city is not
listed there, dont give up hope. it may mean your organiser simply
hasnt posted interest just yet, and is waiting to sort out details
with venue etc before announcing they are in, or that your city is
awaiting an organiser. That could be you! sounds daunting, we know.
but every event so far has been run by simple ordinary fans, most who
would never have thought they were capable of organising anything
beyond birthday parties (well maybe im speaking of myself there), let
alone an event like this, but they can and they do, with amazing
success. And we can't reach that goal without you guys picking up the
mantle.

Pop on over to http://www.CantStoptheSerenity.com, check out what and
who we are, sign up to the forums, offer your help, read the thread
http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=89 about
what you need to think about to be an organiser, and start mis-
misbehaving!

Greetings, Whedonverse fans!

An update on the TV Vote Poll:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Firefly, while still handily in control of the #1 spot in the Poll, is in dire need of some support; daily vote totals have dropped off, of late. On Monday, Jericho came within 122 votes of Firefly's daily total. Firefly has had the top daily score every day since exactly 1 year ago, today; Sunday, April 29, 2007, when Xena beat us by 160 votes, something no other show has accomplished EVER SINCE!

It would be a shame if something happened to that streak... We need to keep our voting up!
Even if Browncoats reading this who have never voted in this poll were to drop in 1 vote per day, it would preserve the prestige of our shiny show. So, help us out, folks!

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,066 (874) times, 192 more than the previous day.
Firefly is 129,107 (128,510) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #22 show Star Trek: Voyager 125,027. That puts us at 20,893 (21,490) votes away from a 150,000 vote lead, about 35 (53.06) days.

In other TV Vote news (these shows are also part of a friendly coalition of voting fandoms, supporting one another, so let's return the favor, shiny?):

#7 show Buffy got 619 (493) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 360 (329) votes, yesterday, in 31.81 (51.81) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 22,093 (22,712) votes, and 35.69 (46.07) days, away, while Farscape is 38.49 (43.21) days from getting there.

Buffy is ahead, again, in the Hall of Fame race! Let's up the vote and keep her on top!

#11 show Angel got 537 (462) votes, yesterday. Angel is currently receiving enough votes to pass #10 show Combat!, which received 360 (333) votes, yesterday, in 28.23 (40.1) days, to recapture the #10 spot lost when Jericho advanced past up the poll.

#15 show Babylon 5 got 416 (376) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 299 (218) votes, in 41.66 (31.59) days.

Classic vampire show Dark Shadows, #30, got 405 (391) votes, yesterday, and is receiving enough votes to pass #29 show Charmed, which got 174 (153) votes, in 3.45 (3.64) days.

#41 show (#1 in the Nominations Poll) Blood Ties got 593 (469) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #40 show Cleopatra 2525, which got 154 (110) votes, in 24.79 (31.54) days.

And, well-known Browncoat podcaster Kevin Bachelder has also established the following site and podcast in the interest of saving Blood Ties:

http://www.savebloodties.org

http://www.bloodtiespodcast.org

Again, your support of Dark Shadows and Blood Ties (whose fans also vote in support of the Whedonverse!) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

I post expanded daily voting stats, analysis, and, projections at the Universal HD Firefly board (a shiny forum, in its own right!), at:

Ni howdy, Browncoats!

A little more than 10 days remain to vote, and Firefly is now EXACTLY on schedule to reach 750,000 votes by the end of the Poll! However, more immediately, we have one record which has eluded us: Most votes cast in a 24 hour voting period.* Firefly topped out on March 7, 2007: 2,359; Xena broke that record, on March 30, 2007: 2,803. This coming Wednesday, August 6, we're gonna do the impossible, again, and take back the record, once and for all!

So, to those Browncoats who are voting, I know from the numbers that many of you are already going for a hard burn. Still, if there is any way to squeeze in even 1 or 2 more legal** votes during the Wednesday-Thursday voting period, it'll make a difference. To those folks who haven't been voting, I'd like to extend a friendly invite, if you'd care to cast even 1 or 2 votes that day, it'd mean a world of difference. More'd be welcome, of course; in fact, if every Browncoat within range of this Wave cast just 1 more vote than they'd been accustomed to, either way, we could just about sew this one up and go home.

The battle's almost over, and we're gonna own this valley! So, let's not lay down arms. Let's fix bayonets, and come charging outta the trenches and take that record!

Voting is simple; you can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, as often as once every sixty minutes. Use any one of these three links:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead. If you get an error message, refresh your non-AOL browser (AOL doesn't like TV Vote).

No registration is required, there are no cookies, no pop-ups. Just click on as many show titles as you choose, and hit the "Click Once to Vote" button. And, by the way, while you're voting for Firefly, might lend a vote at the same time for our friends Dark Shadows (which is running just a day behind making their goal of 150k votes before the end of the Poll), as well as Angel (which is under attack from behind by Combat!, which is attempting to bump it down a notch before the Poll ends).

Of course, there's no time like the present to boost the vote, as well, so long as we concentrate especially hard on Wednesday.

I post expanded daily voting stats, analysis, and, projections (including other, associated shows whose fans also vote in reciprocal support of the Whedonverse, and are worthy of ours) at Universal HD Firefly (a shiny board in its own right!) at:

http://tinyurl.com/6a5ghk

Yours in the cause,

-Raycheetah =^[.]^=

*Voting days run from approximately 0600 EST (1000 GMT) until approximately 0700 EST (1100 GMT) the following day. This is 25 hours, but the times are approximations (Start early, keep voting until late). The vote totals are updated once each day around 0900 EST (1300 GMT), so don't expect to see immediate results from each vote you cast.

**What makes TV Vote the most reliable online poll is Rich Labonte's devotion to sussing out cheaters. Fans can vote once an hour every hour, but only once. If multiple votes from the same IP SubNet mask are received within an hour, all votes from that SubNet are discarded to prevent a single person from running to each computer in an office or library. If multiple votes on a rotating IP or a bot are detected, not only are current and future votes discarded, but the show may be penalized votes as well (one such incident almost closed the poll in 2007).

Heads up, Browncoats!

I'm posting this on this group 'cause I know what big hearts y'all have, and that you'll either help if you can, or you'll spread word to someone who can help (please copy it to any groups, boards, or lists you think might be interested in helping).

A blizzard hit Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, in South Dakota, last Wednesday and Thursday and has knocked out the power to thousands. 10 and 20 foot drifts prevent many from leaving their homes, and food and firewood are running low. Some are reportedly burning their furniture to stay warm.

Blankets, warm clothing, food (as well as fuel, water, kerosene lamps and propane) are desperately needed. For anyone in the area who wants to help, go to the Porcupine School, or call 605-867-1111. Alternately, go to nativeprogess.org or http://nativeamericanrights.wordpress.com/. Send warm clothes to: Republic of Lakotah P.O. Box 99 Porcupine, SD 57772.

A week has already gone by; do something today, if you can! It could be three to seven days MORE before power is restored.

If anyone in the area can help with the situation on the reservation or make a donation, they can get in touch with Jeri Baker through the organization's website at nativeprogress.org or call John Dubray directly on the reservation at 605-441-5477.

Come and join the Greenville Browncoats for some fun and double crossing.
We will be LARPing in the beautiful Camp Buckhorn located within Paris
Mountain State Park in South Carolina.  We would love for you to join us
on our adventure on May 1st - 3rd 2009.

Our Story: Welcome to Jiangyin a Border planet where hill folk are known
to frequently kidnap skilled folk they need.  You will be visiting the town
of Missed Fortune. You will find there is Back stabbing, Double Crossing and
just plain ole cheatinʼ going on in this little town located way out in the
Black.

It seems as if new people in town are constantly disappearing.  The theory
is that the Hill folk are kidnapping some of the new people who arrive in
town, but are they?  When every one is armed and dangerous, who can you
trust?

A Space Crew arrives in Missed Fortune; they have an honest job (or is
it?) delivering a rather large box to a local address.  After the delivery
they are supposed to pick up their pay at Missed Fortuneʼs Post Office.
Evidently this delivery contains something that someone in town doesnʼt want
just dropped on their front doorstep, so it is being delivered to an old
home on the back street of the city.

The Crew scope out the town and find where to deliver the package.  Their
inquiries around town attract a lot of unwanted attention.  What could be in
the box that would cause so much local chaos?   Who would want to have it
delivered anonymously?

The package is delivered and then the crew attempt to high tail it out of
town (Before getting paid?) and find themselves surrounded by two different
groups of very unhappy & armed people.

Our characters are going to have to find a way to muddle through this
predicament hopefully with their hides in one piece. A little bit of good
old fashioned smooth talking and double-crossing will be in order to survive
this one.  Are you up for it?  Will you be Townsfolk, part of the Space Crew
or some other mysterious character?  Itʼs all up to you.

What is the cost for this weekend of fun you ask?  You will play the Game,
get 5 meals, 2 nightʼs lodging and both Friday and Saturday evening Socials,
along with a few classes for the low cost of $100 per person, when you
pre-pay.  If you prefer to pay @ the door, your cost for everything listed
will be $175.  If you prefer to stay some other place we can figure a price
for you too, just let us know.

My name is William Prater, and I'm here to recruit you to the cause
of the Browncoat! I am contacting you because at some point, your
name has been given as someone who could really help our cause! I
need help and advice on planning Can't Stop The Serenity -
Nashville - 2009. Here we are.... approximately three months from
the intended date of CSTS- Nashville and I'm looking for a crew to
help make this a reality. So what do you say? - - - - - CAN YOU
aim to misbehave . . . . on the big screen in Nashville Tennessee?

Before we continue, a brief commercial interruption to answer some
questions. . . .

1.) Why this time of year? The reason for the date is that is Joss
Whedon's (the creator of Firefly and Serenity) birthday, and it is
the World Wide date of the event, so cities, states, and countries
will all be doing the same screening at the same time. At this
point I'm open to doing the event on any date from June 23th until
July 21st. So what date would you prefer, and why?

2.)Why this movie? Well, if you're unfamiliar with "Serenity", it
is often credited as "the movie that shouldn't have been". I mean
it's based on a show that lasted a mere one season, accrued less
than 5 million viewers a week, and didn't even beep on most
people's radar until after it was cancelled. But after it was
cancelled, it created such a whirlwind, and found a following that
rivals most sci-fi shows that were on for six or seven seasons or
longer. It created such a stir, that Joss Whedon wrote "Serenity"
as the next chapter in the Firefly universe and along with the
fans, demanded that the movie be made. "Serenity" is one of the
first movies ever, TO BE CREATED FOR THE FANS BY THE FANS. To this
day, Firefly is listed in TV Guide's top 25 Cult Favorite TV
Shows!!!

3. What is Equality Now? Equality Now works to end violence and
discrimination against women and girls around the world through the
mobilization of public pressure. During the last week of June 2006,
Joss Whedon's fans, the Browncoats, organized 47 screenings of his
film "Serenity" in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United
Kingdom and the United States. The screenings were held to benefit
Equality Now and celebrate Joss' birthday. Earnings totaling over
$60,000 have been reported. In 2007, events are scheduled in 51
cities in nine countries. Equality Now is extremely grateful for
the support of the Browncoats and inspired by the tremendous energy
and commitment they have put into their efforts to support our work
to end human rights abuses against women and girls around the
world. For more info, visit www.equalitynow.org

4. Where is the event happening? Well, that sorta depends on you.
How, you ask? Well, depending on how many people respond, and are
willing to help plan and execute everything, the bigger the event.
I've been looking at several venues, from The Belcourt Theater to
OutCentral and have even thought about using Opry Mills 20 or
Hollywood 27. So what's your opinion? And how can we make this a
reality?

And now back to the infomercial. . . . .

So, what is needed for this event, you ask? Well, BROWNCOATS
UNITE!!! I'm looking for individuals with contacts, or who want to
make contacts, who are self motivated (or motivated by the
movement) because, believe me when I say I am so not a
micro-manager. You will become the backbone of the Tennessee
Browncoats participation in CSTS World Wide, and this is the first
time Nashville will have been involved in this event. I wanna make
the first one as glorious as possible. So, for more details,
contact me,Will, at williamprater@... or call me
at 615.260.9659 I hope to hear from you all. . . .

As always, Your servant . . . Will Prater
