finaily watched the 2000 series... Some thoughts   Message List

Well, This time last week I finaily had the right mood to watch the 2000 remake.
All 13 eps.

I got a few suprises along the way.

#1. Tho I had watched 'Drop Dead' before. This was about I think 4-5 yrs. back.
{was on a pro made tape I bought at a con. from Bonnie} It wasn't till this last
time {this time on the UKr2 dvd's.} that in the last few scenes with that loon
artist that i heard and then confirmed in the creds was non other then David
Tennate. The latest new Doctor in the new Dr. Who.

Oh my...lolol I am glad I didn't get it back then. Better to have never really
seen David before Who.

#2. Tom Baker. Oh my..oh my. :) I had been curious what his character was going
to be like. lol And I am still not sure. lol But it was no doubt...Tom was
having fun...

#3. Most of what I watched was good. Tho some of the stories were...well, a
little over the top. There was little doubt then this Jeff and Marty were never
meant to be PI's. I would of really liked to see more detecting. It was nice to
catch the little homages to the original. And tho it's quick. I loved that very
brief incert of Mike Pratt in the white suit. From the ep where he almost drouns
and his ghost for a few seconds pops out and is standing of the shore, arms
crossed. and looking very unhappy at Marty. lolol

I was suprised that Ken didn't play a bit poll in an ep. or did I miss it. He
was in that behind the scenes thing. Just a little near the start. he seemed to
give a positive nod to the remake. Was Annette asked to do a small bit in an
ep?? If so I missed it.

#4. Over all I enjoyed it more then I thought I would. But it's still no where
as good as the original. I did get a few ideas from some of the things Marty
found he could do. The popping into a pc and the net. That was wild. A real
ghost in the machine thing. lol

I still would of liked to have seen a lot of the silly stuff tones down. Or out.
And alot more of the PI work Mike Pratt's Jeff was really quite good at.

Over all. I liked it. A third season would of been nice.

There was only one rp that was...well, the most Boring.

Season 2. Ep. 6. The Glorious Butranekh.
That story was just dull. And tho the last one was well, Odd. I amd glad they
didn't end the season and series on this ep.

Of the 26 eps of the original There really isn;t one that I ever found dull. To
me all 26 were fun and I enjoyed each.

But of the 13 of the remake. Somelike TGB were not that great.

And even the remakes best are still no match for the worst of the original.

I really could of done without most of the silliness. Plus there was far too
much of the newage ideas about ghost and the afterlife.

Sorry for the somewhat brief list of comments. I will be happy to talk more.
with whomever..

Hugs.

April.
