Re: [Quite Quite Fantastic Avengers] Re: In Defense of Tara

It was certainly a new flavor. I think they added too many new ingredients and
spoilt the broth. Nothing against Tara, but it was like buying a ticket and
seeing the wrong show. Still entertaining, but not quite the same.

Almost as if it were a different program.
To compare Tara to Mrs. Peel is like comparing apples to oranges.
Linda did an excellent job of what she did and she is very pretty.
Diana is a Shakespearean actress and more capable of bring a brilliant
performance to anything she does.
Had Diana Rigg played Tara King, with Mother and the other program changes, I
don't think the show would have lasted significantly longer. Apparently ABC
gambled on making "The Avengers" a better program and turned it into a "turkey".
There's an old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Second... yes, the Mother character really ruined the show - I never
cared him. It's like they didn't want to bother having to write 45
minutes or so of material so they'd sneak in 10 minutse worth of
Mother to take up some time.
