Hi everyone. I am pleased to see the existence of Yahoo Groups
devoted to a great television show,The Avengers(what else?). I
recently got my copy of the 2-disc set of Best of the Original
Avengers DVD and couldn't be happier with it. This proved a special
treat,since I had never before seen any of the Honor Blackman or
Linda Thorson shows. Plus,you just can't top the picture and sound
quality. I also thought I'd let you know that the price of the set
has been cut,according to the catalog I saw(under $20,mind you).

As for the Avengers movie,what were they thinking? The characters of
Steed and Peel were shoehorned in yet another shoot'em up,blow'em up
Hollywood special effects extravaganza(that week's special effects
extravaganza,that is). As for Ralph Finnes and Uma Thurman,they're
both good actors,but one could swear they were doing two different
movies altogether. As far as I'm concerned,if even Sean Connery can't
make a movie work,you know it's in trouble. If they want to make a
real Avengers movie,how about doing a made for TV film which would
reunite Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg? I think it also would be great
to see Honor Blackman and Linda Thorson in the film too.
