Just chiming in, too. I, also, enjoyed the show. Loved the characters and was one of those who did enjoy the main actress in the role. The QoS on DVD set has never been released officially in the US; however, it was released officially (in partiality) in Japan and as a complete set in France. The set released in France is easily played on a computer and language set to English. It is just a bit pricey if one is overseas. (One picked up a copy for me while visiting France.) You can do a search for it as Amazon France (Try searching for Tessie Santiago to specifically find Queen of Swords, since Peter et al are in so many other DVD sets and those pop up in a search for him/them. Otherwise, I think that, in French, the series title was "Tessa ala pointe.")
Time to re-watch some eps this weekend <G>.

HI Mary,
I enjoyed Queen of Swords quite a bit when I rewatched it in its entirety a few years ago. I still find that the main character’s limited acting skills to be bothersome, but the characters really grow on you. I always felt like the show would have been better if her woman servant was the Queen of Swords or the show was basically about her! But the characters were fun and playful. It’s been quite a few years since I last watched it. It might be time again to review it. I think I have it in some VHS quality avi’s, so if anyone wants to watch it they can download it. I don’t think it is commercially available.

Hello, I never did see the QOS. I did hear about her after the show went off the air. Recently, because of my interest in the Zorro story, I went to E-bay and typed in Q.O.S. I found the complete series on DVD. I have watched four episodes so far and I am quite surprised at how good this show really is. The production values are better than some of the Zorro movies that I have seen.
I rewatch them occasionally and am always pleasantly surprised about
how good the show was with such a low budget and with other
constraints. most of the cast was great and Tessie was learning. They
had cast her just out of college and she had little experience.
Glad to have you join us. The list has been very quiet for years.

Glad you found QOS and the DVDs. I need to either pick up the DVDs or have them transferred from my VHS since my VCR eats tapes.
I would recommend that you join the QOS Fan Fiction group. We are fans of the Queen and many are fan fiction writers who have continued the serieswith a lot of stories. http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/TheQueenOfSwordsFanfic/
My own site is being converted from Geocities as it is closing down on Monday. So the Yahoo group is your best option. Many of us have been writing since the show came out back at the end of 2000.
Please Join us.

Several years ago I promised to add a page linking out to fan sites on TheQueenOfSwords.Net and regrettably I never got around to it. So today I finally took the time to look up as many fan sites and other informative sites relevant to the show as I could find.
I have now added a Queen of Swords Web Sites page to the site. If anyone has a relevant fan site that is not listed, please use Xenite.Org's contact form to send me a message (pick "Michael", not "The Administrators") and I'll look at your site. I have changed email addresses and this Yahoo! account still uses the old address.
There are actually quite a few sites still around, although most of them are probably not being updated. I have included a link to this group. TheQueenOfSwords.Net receives about 2500 visitors per month so there is still interest in the show and, I am sure, in fan creative efforts.
This message was also posted to Yahoo! Groups' TSEnthusiasts group.
IMDB is okay for getting listings of SCREEN credits (but not great -- it claims that Tessie only did two episodes of "Good Morning, Miami"). It does not go into the in-depth, intricate, historical relationships of a filmed project. When I wrote that there wouldn't have been a QoS as we knew it without Bill Panzer, I meant that Bill Panzer produced and cast "Highlander" as well as "Highlander: Raven." David Abramowitz worked on "Highlander. " When he was looking to cast QoS he used actors/producers/ stuntmen with whom he was familiar from "Highlander" such as Valentine Pelka, Peter Wingfield, Elizabeth Gracen, Anthony De Longis, Ken Gord, and Andrew Helm just to name a few. So without Bill Panzer there would be no
"Highlander" and without "Highlander" David Abramowitz is highly unlikely to have known all the folks listed above from one place, so, when developed, QoS would have looked much different from what we now know.

HIGHLANDER producer, Bill Panzer, died in Los Angeles yesterday, March
18, 2007 from a brain hemorrhage suffered when he fell while ice
skating. He was 62 years old and is survived by his wife, Priscilla. A
tribute to Mr. Panzer by Adrian Paul may be found at:

Without Bill Panzer, there probably wouldn't be a QUEEN OF SWORDS as we
knew it.
May he rest in peace.

I finally transferred my Queen of Swords VCDs to DVDs. Anyone who'd like a copy, please let me know. Also, anyone who'd like to write for the Queenof swords episode guide, please let me know. Thanks!
I think it was rodlox who once wrote a story called The Hessian. What ever
happened to it. What appeared under the title was something else.

I have all 22 episodes on VCD. I can transfer them to DVD. This show will
probably never get onto DVD, or not too soon. It's not the best, but it does
get pretty addictive at the end. sadly the Queen of Swords sidekick was more
interesting than the Queen! But it was fun nonetheless.
Hello all,
I just found this group and made me think back to such a great show
that was cut too short. I was wondering if anyone here has the full
series and would kindly be able to make a copy for me? I'll pay for it
(either through paypal or money order) and it would be great to have
this show in my collection. Please help, I'd greatly apprieciate it. :)

Roberta Brown was the sword double for Tessie, et al, as well as part
time sword coach in the first six episodes of "Queen of Swords." She
has been working as a coordinator and consultant for the
website "Women of Action" for many years. The site has finally opened.
Roberta would like everyone to Google the site to improve its ranking
in Google searches, but if you cannot find it, note that here and I
will post the address for you. I watched the site in its development
and it is an excellent history website -- well worth a visit.
Mary
I will probably need a beta in the near future. Talked to Jim about it, but
he might be busy. Anyone else interested. My first message sent astray, I
suspect

For me, too. That is why I like to ask where eps came from.

Mary;
Yes it was!
The quality is excellent. The issue I have with the set copied from SITV is that occasionally you see the SITV logo in the corner.

They are home dubs of aired TV episodes.
