Well it's a while since I visited this club, and
it's certainly come on a treat since. Despite David's
full-time job, he is still managing to make regular updates
to all his comunities... well done that man. This is
a "ripper" of a club as Lizzy Birdsworth would say!
Hello everybody, just thought I'd tell you that
I've added several more pics to the "Photos" Section -
including a Gallery dedicated to Video Covers (courtesy of
LeoVK's rather excellent Website).<br><br>Speak to you
soon,<br><br>David.
Thank you for the warm welcome:-) Too bad there
aren't more Prisoner fans out there, it's such a good
show. I think they should consider making brand new
episodes of Prisoner. If they script will be as before it
would be such a hit, def!<br>They could bring back some
of the goody ol' characters like Joan and perhaps
one of the younger ones.<br>Anybody that agree?
I'm a new member of this club. I really love
prisoner; the charcters, actors, manuscript... everything
about it is great. Superficial soaps from US are nuthin
compare to Prisoner. I live in Sweden and I been watching
Prisoner for about a yeaR or two. I am very sorry that I
haven't known that it was a great program earlier than
that. <br>all my love,<br>Stina
ello Chris! and welcome to the Yahoo Club
devoted to Prisoner. I hope you can find the time to post
anything mailing list related up here, and feel free to
add any of your own links or pictures to the
dedicated sections.
ust thought I'd say hi now that I've joined this
here group.<br><br>I'm guessing that from my username
you wont have a clue who I am so I'll tell
you....<br><br>I'm Chris (Mr Digest) Hewitt ie the one who runs the
PCBH digest :-)<br><br>Introductions over - I'll scoot
off now.
eally sorry about the chat, Littlemiss. Of
course we'll have to organise another one. I was all
prepared to go, but company came round to the house and I
couldn't get online. Plus, in the last couple of days, my
PC has been to hell and back as I've been installing
and then exchanging graphics cards (they never seem
to work!)..anyway, that's why I haven't responded
sooner. I was planning to hold the chat here on a Sunday,
specifically because the Telnet Talker chat starts at 6pm, and
it's a good way of notifying people through that -
what do you think?
o your little side project is finally coming up with the goods Mr. Wilkie. Your
bloods worth bottlin. We must organise a chat soon. Some evening. Any offers of
time?
es Littlemiss, you have a point and thankyou for joining by the way! I think we
need to organise some proper chat time, when is the best time for everyone?
suggest that anyone who is a fan of Prisoner,
signs up to the Prisoner Talker, which is like a
chatroom, but much better with themed rooms and news on the
programme. The address can be found below. LeoVK posted a
detailed message to the Mailing list recently, outlining
the key steps for signing up, so that can also be
viewed below:<br><br>1 - Visit
<a href=http://members.tripod.com/~priscellh/telnet.htm
target=new>http://members.tripod.com/~priscellh/telnet.htm</a> and enter the
Java applet from there.<br><br>2 -
The Java Applet should load and display the
"Wentworth Detention Centre"<br>front screen.<br><br>3 - It
will ask you for a username. If you are a new member
(which most of<br>you will be) then think of a username
and type it in. This will be the name<br>you will
always be known as whenever you use the talker.<br><br>4
- You will then be asked for your email address and
to select a password<br>and other details.<br><br>5
- You should soon receive an automatic email, if
you have completed all<br>the questions
correctly.<br><br>If everything goes well, you should be a member.
<br><br>If you encounter problems<br>during signup email
Craig at kes@...<br><br>Now, that you are a
member, you will be ready to join us at the Sunday
6pm<br>Chat. So follow these instructions when you want to
come in:-<br><br>1 - Again, visit
<a href=http://members.tripod.com/~priscellh/telnet.htm
target=new>http://members.tripod.com/~priscellh/telnet.htm</a> (bookmark<br>this
address for easy access) and
access the Java applet again.<br><br>2 - Again it will
load up the WDC front page and prompt for username.
Enter<br>the one you chose at signup and then the password you
selected when it asks.<br><br>3 - Once you are properly
logged in, if it is 6:00 or after, I will invite you
into the chatroom (I am told if someone logs in so I
know you are there).<br><br>4 - From then on it should
be plain sailing, you will get used to this system
after a bit of practice and you will know it like the
back of your hand. From then on you can Chat
Away!<br><br>There are regular chats every Sunday at 6pm, so it's
recommended that you sign up asap, but the chat is open all
day and every day of the year, so it may be likely
that you'll bump into someone at anytime - give it a
go!
hat is apparently the real Maggie Kirkpatrick
who appears in the Silverchair video. I remember
there was a link on the web to a video file of it, in
one of the PCBH Digests, but it didn't work. Does
anybody know where it can be obtained?
as anyone seen the new Silverchair-video? The woman in the video, is that Maggie
Kirkpatrick, aka The Freak? It looks a lot like her but I'm not sure..
'm glad to see that people from all over the
World are part of this Club. I've noticed a few Swedish
PCBH sites on the Internet, so I know that you are
great fans of the series over there.<br><br>I also
never knew that "Kvinnofängelset" was the name of
Prisoner in Swedish - does anybody know the literal
meaning or translation of this word? <br><br>You say that
the show is broadcast 3 times a week over there. I
don't think I would mind that as much, but 2 (just at
weekends) here in the UK, is a big leap from 5 a week and I
do miss it.<br><br>Oh well, keep on watching and
everybody, keep on posting their views on the show!
've commented on this to a couple of people as
to how appalling Meg's acting has been throughout
her "warehouse ordeal". Ann has been forced to "hold
the fort" so to speak, and just as well, as Meg's
concussion and penguin walk followed by collapse was just
unbearably bad. What does everybody else think?
. that's what The show is called here in Sweden,
it means The Women's prison or something like that.
I have not watched it from the start, which I am
sorry about. But as soon as I realized what a good show
it really is, I couldn't stop. It's just great. Here
it's broadcasted 3 nights a week, tuesday, thursday
and saturday, around 1 am all nights. We have reached
episode 600 now I think, which means it'll soon be over,
*sigh*...<br>I am a new member of this club and I know that I
will enjoy it :)
ell, it now seems likely that Channel 5 are
intending to keep Prisoner scheduled for just two nights a
week. I suppose if you look on the bright side, it
means it's going to be with us for longer, but at the
current rate of shows, it will be at least January 2000,
by the time the final episode is broadcast. Many
people (on the Digest and the Newsgroup) have brought up
the fact that both Grundy and Pot Noodle could be
contacted, but I agree with Leo V.K, that it could cause
more harm than good, as for one, Grundy (apparently
lost the rights to the show years ago, and therefore
couldn't care less), and Pot Noodle are one of the reasons
the show is still going (in theory), so they
shouldn't be meddled with. This situation with scheduling
has been a re-occurance for just about every channel,
most notably Carlton and ITV, let's just hope Channel
5 don't eventually axe the show altogether.
ll of the responses people have been getting
regarding the cut of 5 to 2 episodes of Pris per week,
appear to be the same message, but here it is below to
all those who haven't seen it properly yet. It seems
that we'd all get more success out of phoning Channel
5 instead (number at foot of message). Anyway, here
it is..<br><br>Thank you for your recent
e-mail<br><br>We were sorry to hear that you were disappointed by
our Programme Controller's decision to broadcast two
episodes of PRISONER: CELL BLOCK H each week rather than
five. We constantly review our programme schedules and,
as is common at the start of a new programme year
(April, for Channel 5), some structural changes are
made.<br><br>From April, we shall be transmitting more live sport
in the late-night schedules than we have previously
- baseball and hockey will both be covered live
twice a week and our sports slots will be
extended.<br><br>Unfortunately, this means that there is no longer enough room
for five episodes of PRISONER: CELL BLOCK H each
week.<br><br>It can now be seen at 4:40am on Saturday and Sunday
morning each<br>week.<br><br>We hope you are still able
to enjoy the series.<br><br>Please note that the
contact details for the Channel 5 Duty Office<br>are
now:<br><br>Telephone: 0845 7 05 05 05<br>Textphone: 0845 7 41 37

5.<br><br>Yours sincerely<br><br>DUTY OFFICER
t seems that I can only add so many links but
I've managed to add some good ones which you might
want to take a look at. Also, 3 pics have been added
to the Photos Section. Anyone feel free to do the
same please.
t's been suggested recently that Channel 5 are
planning to cut Prisoner in the UK from 5, down to just 2
nights at the weekend. A little harsh perhaps, so I
suggest everybody campaigns against this decision by
complaining to Channel 5 via e-mail. By the way, thanks to
everybody who has joined the Yahoo club recently. I will be
adding more links and a chat date soon + pictures, so
keep coming back and spread the word!
arie is about to go,<br>Pixie will be
back,<br>The Freak is going boo, hoo<br>for that shane.<br>Ann
is getting loopy <br>and Meg a bit droopy,<br>but
nothing can prepare you<br>for Joyce and her mervy.
