Mary Cheney, the vice president's openly gay daughter, is pregnant.
She and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, are "ecstatic" about
the baby, due in late spring, said a source close to the couple.

It's a baby boom for grandparents Dick and Lynne Cheney: Their older
daughter, Elizabeth, went on leave as deputy assistant secretary of
state before having her fifth child in July. "The vice president and
Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the
arrival of their sixth grandchild," spokesman Lea Anne McBride said
last night.

Cheney, 37, was a key aide to her father during the 2004 reelection
campaign and now is vice president for consumer advocacy at AOL. Poe,
45, a former park ranger, is renovating their Great Falls home.

News of the pregnancy will undoubtedly reignite the debate about gay
marriage. During the campaign, Mary Cheney was criticized by gay
activists for not being more publicly supportive of same-sex
marriage. Her father said people "ought to be free to enter into any
kind of relationship they want to" but deferred to the president's
policy supporting a constitutional amendment banning same-sex
marriages. Cheney herself called the proposed amendment "a gross
affront to gays and lesbians everywhere" in her book, "Now It's My
Turn: A Daughter's Chronicle of Political Life," which was published
in May.

Cheney has described her relationship with Poe -- whom she took to
last year's White House dinner honoring Prince Charles and Camilla --
as a marriage. The two met in 1988 while playing ice hockey and began
dating four years later. They moved from Colorado to Virginia a year
ago to be closer to Cheney's family. In an interview with the Post
six months ago, when asked if she and Poe wanted children, Cheney
said that was a "conversation I think I should have with Heather
first."

In November, Virginia voters passed a state constitutional amendment
banning gay marriage and civil unions; state law is unclear on
whether Poe could have full legal rights as a parent of Cheney's
child. The circumstances of the pregnancy will remain private, said
the source close to the couple. This is the first child for both.

Blaze kills daughter of 9/11 pilot

Tragedy struck a 9/11 family for a second time when the daughter of
one of the hijacked pilots was killed in a suspicious blaze in New
Jersey yesterday.

Wendy Burlingame, 32, and her two dogs died when flames ripped
through her 10th-floor apartment in Guttenberg, Hudson County.

Burlingame was the daughter of American Airlines pilot Charles
(Chick) Burlingame, whose plane crashed into the Pentagon on Sept.
11, 2001.

"It's just an extreme tragedy," said Tim Sumner, who knew Wendy
Burlingame from the 9/11 Families survivor group. "It's an amazing
blow to that family."

Wendy Burlingame's aunt, Debra Burlingame, a member of the World
Trade Center Memorial Foundation board, was too heartbroken to speak
last night.

The fire broke out about 12:30 a.m. in the Galaxy Towers apartment
Burlingame shared with her fiancé, Kevin Roderick.

Neighbors said Burlingame moved into the apartment overlooking the
Hudson River about a month ago. Roderick escaped the fire.

Firefighters battled the stubborn blaze for about three hours before
bringing it under control. Firefighters found Burlingame's body in a
hallway between the kitchen and a bedroom, investigators said.

"It is suspicious at this point because the cause and origin have not
been established," Hudson County Prosecutor Edward De Fazio said.

De Fazio said the fire damaged neighboring apartments. A neighbor
reported hearing a commotion coming from Burlingame's apartment just
before the fire alarms in the building sounded.

Many organizations including the cell phone industry often downplay
the risk of cell phone radiation to the brain. Results from short-
term studies were used to convince consumers that use of a cell phone
is not associated with brain tumors or cancer, which only develop
decades after exposure.

To be fair, no one knows exactly how much harm a cell phone can do to

Recently, new media has reported a study showing the radiation from
cell phones is so full of energy they can be used to cook eggs.

In the experiment, researchers placed one egg in a porcelain cup
(because it is easy to conduct heat), and put one cell phone on one
side and another cell phone on the other. The researchers then called
from one cell phone to another and kept the cell phones on after
connecting.

During the first 15 minutes, nothing changed. After 25 minutes,
however, the egg shell started to become hot and at 40 minutes, the
surface of the egg became hard and bristled. Researchers found the
protein in the egg had become solid although the egg yolk was still
in liquid form. After 65 minutes, the whole egg was well cooked.

The study shows how scary cell phone radiation is. People should try
to avoid use of cell phones. Although so far no one has proved the
radiation from cell phones can cause something clinically
significant. By the same token, there has been no one who can
disprove the existence of such a risk.

Children should be forbidden from cell phone use because they still
grow their brains and are particularly vulnerable to radiation.

phones are. There is no magic in cooking with your cell phone. The
secret is in the radio waves that the cell phone radiates.

The journalists created a simple microwave structure as shown in the
picture. They called from one cell phone to the other and left both
phones on talking mode. They placed a tape recorder next to phones to
imitate sounds of speaking so the phones would stay on.

After 15 minutes: The egg became slightly warm.

FBI taps cell phone mic as eavesdropping tool

update The FBI appears to have begun using a novel form of electronic
surveillance in criminal investigations: remotely activating a mobile
phone's microphone and using it to eavesdrop on nearby conversations.

The technique is called a "roving bug," and was approved by top U.S.
Department of Justice officials for use against members of a New York
organized crime family who were wary of conventional surveillance
techniques such as tailing a suspect or wiretapping him.

Nextel cell phones owned by two alleged mobsters, John Ardito and his
attorney Peter Peluso, were used by the FBI to listen in on nearby
conversations. The FBI views Ardito as one of the most powerful men
in the Genovese family, a major part of the national Mafia.

The surveillance technique came to light in an opinion published this
week by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan. He ruled that the "roving
bug" was legal because federal wiretapping law is broad enough to
permit eavesdropping even of conversations that take place near a
suspect's cell phone.

Kaplan's opinion said that the eavesdropping technique "functioned
whether the phone was powered on or off." Some handsets can't be
fully powered down without removing the battery; for instance, some
Nokia models will wake up when turned off if an alarm is set.

While the Genovese crime family prosecution appears to be the first
time a remote-eavesdropping mechanism has been used in a criminal
case, the technique has been discussed in security circles for years.

The U.S. Commerce Department's security office warns that "a cellular
telephone can be turned into a microphone and transmitter for the
purpose of listening to conversations in the vicinity of the phone."
An article in the Financial Times last year said mobile providers
can "remotely install a piece of software on to any handset, without
the owner's knowledge, which will activate the microphone even when
its owner is not making a call."

Nextel and Samsung handsets and the Motorola Razr are especially
vulnerable to software downloads that activate their microphones,
said James Atkinson, a counter-surveillance consultant who has worked
closely with government agencies. "They can be remotely accessed and
made to transmit room audio all the time," he said. "You can do that
without having physical access to the phone."

Because modern handsets are miniature computers, downloaded software
could modify the usual interface that always displays when a call is
in progress. The spyware could then place a call to the FBI and
activate the microphone--all without the owner knowing it happened.
(The FBI declined to comment on Friday.)

"If a phone has in fact been modified to act as a bug, the only way
to counteract that is to either have a bugsweeper follow you around
24-7, which is not practical, or to peel the battery off the phone,"
Atkinson said. Security-conscious corporate executives routinely
remove the batteries from their cell phones, he added.

FBI's physical bugs discovered
The FBI's Joint Organized Crime Task Force, which includes members of
the New York police department, had little luck with conventional
surveillance of the Genovese family. They did have a confidential
source who reported the suspects met at restaurants including
Brunello Trattoria in New Rochelle, N.Y., which the FBI then bugged.

But in July 2003, Ardito and his crew discovered bugs in three
restaurants, and the FBI quietly removed the rest. Conversations
recounted in FBI affidavits show the men were also highly suspicious
of being tailed by police and avoided conversations on cell phones
whenever possible.

That led the FBI to resort to "roving bugs," first of Ardito's Nextel
handset and then of Peluso's. U.S. District Judge Barbara Jones
approved them in a series of orders in 2003 and 2004, and said she
expected to "be advised of the locations" of the suspects when their
conversations were recorded.

Details of how the Nextel bugs worked are sketchy. Court documents,
including an affidavit (p1) and (p2) prepared by Assistant U.S.
Attorney Jonathan Kolodner in September 2003, refer to them as
a "listening device placed in the cellular telephone." That phrase
could refer to software or hardware.

One private investigator interviewed by CNET News.com, Skipp Porteous
of Sherlock Investigations in New York, said he believed the FBI
planted a physical bug somewhere in the Nextel handset and did not
remotely activate the microphone.

"They had to have physical possession of the phone to do it,"
Porteous said. "There are several ways that they could have gotten
physical possession. Then they monitored the bug from fairly near
by."

But other experts thought microphone activation is the more likely
scenario, mostly because the battery in a tiny bug would not have
lasted a year and because court documents say the bug works
anywhere "within the United States"--in other words, outside the
range of a nearby FBI agent armed with a radio receiver.

In addition, a paranoid Mafioso likely would be suspicious of any
ploy to get him to hand over a cell phone so a bug could be planted.
And Kolodner's affidavit seeking a court order lists Ardito's phone
number, his 15-digit International Mobile Subscriber Identifier, and
lists Nextel Communications as the service provider, all of which
would be unnecessary if a physical bug were being planted.

A BBC article from 2004 reported that intelligence agencies routinely
employ the remote-activiation method. "A mobile sitting on the desk
of a politician or businessman can act as a powerful, undetectable
bug," the article said, "enabling them to be activated at a later
date to pick up sounds even when the receiver is down."

For its part, Nextel said through spokesman Travis Sowders: "We're
not aware of this investigation, and we weren't asked to
participate."

Other mobile providers were reluctant to talk about this kind of
surveillance. Verizon Wireless said only that it "works closely with
law enforcement and public safety officials. When presented with
legally authorized orders, we assist law enforcement in every way
possible."

A Motorola representative said that "your best source in this case
would be the FBI itself." Cingular, T-Mobile, and the CTIA trade
association did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Mobsters: The surveillance vanguard
This isn't the first time the federal government has pushed at the
limits of electronic surveillance when investigating reputed
mobsters.

In one case involving Nicodemo S. Scarfo, the alleged mastermind of a
loan shark operation in New Jersey, the FBI found itself thwarted
when Scarfo used Pretty Good Privacy software (PGP) to encode
confidential business data.

So with a judge's approval, FBI agents repeatedly snuck into Scarfo's
business to plant a keystroke logger and monitor its output.

Like Ardito's lawyers, Scarfo's defense attorneys argued that the
then-novel technique was not legal and that the information gleaned
through it could not be used. Also like Ardito, Scarfo's lawyers lost
when a judge ruled in January 2002 that the evidence was admissible.

This week, Judge Kaplan in the southern district of New York
concluded that the "roving bugs" were legally permitted to capture
hundreds of hours of conversations because the FBI had obtained a
court order and alternatives probably wouldn't work.

The FBI's "applications made a sufficient case for electronic
surveillance," Kaplan wrote. "They indicated that alternative methods
of investigation either had failed or were unlikely to produce
results, in part because the subjects deliberately avoided government
surveillance."

Bill Stollhans, president of the Private Investigators Association of
Virginia, said such a technique would be legally reserved for police
armed with court orders, not private investigators.

There is "no law that would allow me as a private investigator to use
that type of technique," he said. "That is exclusively for law
enforcement. It is not allowable or not legal in the private sector.
No client of mine can ask me to overhear telephone or strictly oral
conversations."

Surreptitious activation of built-in microphones by the FBI has been
done before. A 2003 lawsuit revealed that the FBI was able to
surreptitiously turn on the built-in microphones in automotive
systems like General Motors' OnStar to snoop on passengers'
conversations.

When FBI agents remotely activated the system and were listening in,
passengers in the vehicle could not tell that their conversations
were being monitored.

Malicious hackers have followed suit. A report last year said Spanish
authorities had detained a man who write a Trojan horse that secretly
activated a computer's video camera and forwarded him the recordings.

After Pat's Birthday

Editor's note: Kevin Tillman joined the Army with his brother Pat in
2002, and they served together in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Pat was
killed in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004. Kevin, who was discharged in
2005, has written a powerful, must-read document.

It is Pat's birthday on November 6, and elections are the day after.
It gets me thinking about a conversation I had with Pat before we
joined the military.  He spoke about the risks with signing the
papers.  How once we committed, we were at the mercy of the American
leadership and the American people.  How we could be thrown in a
direction not of our volition.  How fighting as a soldier would leave
us without a voice… until we got out.

Much has happened since we handed over our voice:

Somehow we were sent to invade a nation because it was a direct
threat to the American people, or to the world, or harbored
terrorists, or was involved in the September 11 attacks, or received
weapons-grade uranium from Niger, or had mobile weapons labs, or WMD,
or had a need to be liberated, or we needed to establish a democracy,
or stop an insurgency, or stop a civil war we created that can't be
called a civil war even though it is.  Something like that.

Somehow our elected leaders were subverting international law and
humanity by setting up secret prisons around the world, secretly
kidnapping people, secretly holding them indefinitely, secretly not
charging them with anything, secretly torturing them.  Somehow that
overt policy of torture became the fault of a few "bad apples" in the
military.

Somehow back at home, support for the soldiers meant having a five-
year-
old kindergartener scribble a picture with crayons and send it
overseas, or slapping stickers on cars, or lobbying Congress for an
extra pad in a helmet.  It's interesting that a soldier on his third
or fourth tour should care about a drawing from a five-year-old; or a
faded sticker on a car as his friends die around him; or an extra pad
in a helmet, as if it will protect him when an IED throws his vehicle
50 feet into the air as his body comes apart and his skin melts to
the seat.

Somehow the more soldiers that die, the more legitimate the illegal
invasion becomes.

Somehow American leadership, whose only credit is lying to its people
and illegally invading a nation, has been allowed to steal the
courage, virtue and honor of its soldiers on the ground.

Somehow those afraid to fight an illegal invasion decades ago are
allowed to send soldiers to die for an illegal invasion they started.

Somehow faking character, virtue and strength is tolerated.

Somehow profiting from tragedy and horror is tolerated.

Somehow the death of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people is
tolerated.

Somehow subversion of the Bill of Rights and The Constitution is
tolerated.

Somehow suspension of Habeas Corpus is supposed to keep this country
safe.

Somehow torture is tolerated.

Somehow lying is tolerated.

Somehow reason is being discarded for faith, dogma, and nonsense.

Somehow American leadership managed to create a more dangerous world.

Somehow a narrative is more important than reality.

Somehow America has become a country that projects everything that it
is not and condemns everything that it is.

Somehow the most reasonable, trusted and respected country in the
world has become one of the most irrational, belligerent, feared, and
distrusted countries in the world.

Somehow being politically informed, diligent, and skeptical has been
replaced by apathy through active ignorance.

Somehow the same incompetent, narcissistic, virtueless, vacuous,
malicious criminals are still in charge of this country.

Somehow this is tolerated.

Somehow nobody is accountable for this.

In a democracy, the policy of the leaders is the policy of the
people.  So don't be shocked when our grandkids bury much of this
generation as traitors to the nation, to the world and to humanity.
Most likely, they will come to know that "somehow" was nurtured by
fear, insecurity nd indifference, leaving the country vulnerable to
unchecked, unchallenged parasites.

Luckily this country is still a democracy.  People still have a
voice.  People still can take action.  It can start after Pat's
birthday.

Washington DC - ABC News-Presidential advisor Karl Rove and White
House communications director Dan Bartlett have received subpoenas to
testify for the defense at the trial of former vice presidential aide
I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, ABC News has learned from a lawyer with
knowledge of the case.

The Libby defense indicated in March 2006 court papers that Karl Rove
will be a "key witness" in the trial, and will testify concerning a
conversation with Libby on July 10 or 11, 2003, regarding columnist
Robert Novak's intent to print a story about Valerie Plame's
employment at the CIA.

Trial watchers said the subpoenas make it clearer than ever that
Libby's defense team will seek to put the Bush administration and its
policies on trial.

"This is obviously primarily about the guilt or innocence of the
defendant," former Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder told ABC
News. "But in a larger sense, it's going to be an examination and
perhaps even a trial about how this administration has conducted
itself on matters of national security and on Iraq, specifically."

Libby is charged with perjury, making false statements and
obstructing an investigation. His troubles began in 2003, when the
name of a covert CIA operative, Plame, was leaked to a reporter.
Naming a clandestine government operative is a crime.

The leak, according to the prosecution, marked an effort to discredit
her husband, Joseph Wilson, who was critical of President Bush's
claim during a State of the Union address that Iraq had been trying
to acquire uranium from Niger.

Since then, the White House claim of Iraq's alleged effort to acquire
nuclear materials has been widely discredited as false, and even the
Bush administration no longer supports it. The perjury case centers
largely on when Libby discovered Plame's name.

The latest subpoenas add two more high-profile witnesses to a trial
that has already drawn in an impressive cadre of some of Washington's
most prominent and politically connected figures.

Among the potential witnesses for the government's case against
Libby, compiled based on statements made in court and more than 250
filings in the case, are:

  Tim Russert of NBC News, host of "Meet the Press"
  Judith Miller, a former New York Times reporter
  Matt Cooper, a former Time reporter currently with Condé Nast
  Marc Grossman, former Under Secretary of State
  David Addington, the vice president's chief of staff
  Craig Schmall, a CIA briefer who Libby spoke to about leaks from the
CIA

  Robert Grenier; a "senior CIA official" described in paragraph 7 of
the indictment- who might have told Libby that Valerie Plame directed
Wilson's Niger trip
  Ari Fleischer; Former White House Press Secretary Libby allegedly
told him Plame worked for the CIA

Yet Libby's witness list is even more impressive, as it includes a
sitting vice president:

  Vice President Dick Cheney
  Rove
  NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell, who hosted "Meet the Press"
when Wilson appeared on the program
  Richard Armitage, former deputy secretary of state and a source for
Novak
  George Tenet, former CIA director
  Bill Harlow, a former CIA spokesman who told Catherine Martin,
Cheney's director of communications, that Plame did work for the CIA
  Bob Novak, who used Rove, Harlow and Armitage as the sources of his
article that first disclosed Plame's name
  John McLaughlin, director of central intelligence
  Stephen Hadley, national security advisor
  Joseph Wilson and Valerie Plame (Wilson is attempting to quash this
subpoena)
  Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward, who taped an interview with
Armitage that the Libby defense has sought in a subpoena

It's been an extraordinary week in the trial.

Libby told investigators that he thought he heard Plame's name from a
reporter. Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald opened his case on Jan. 23 by
arguing that Libby must have lied to investigators because he had
been speaking of Plame before he spoke to NBC's Tim Russert.

Libby's defense has suggested Libby made an honest mistake.

Libby's lawyer, Theodore V. Wells Jr., has made Rove a key figure in
the case, saying that in order to protect Rove as a possible
leaker, "Scooter Libby was to be sacrificed."

Fitzgerald has ruled out charges against Rove in the case. But in May
2006, ABC News reported the Libby defense said in open court that it
would seek Rove's testimony for Libby's defense.

It was also disclosed this week that Cheney wrote a note that Libby's
defense argues shows that Libby was a scapegoat.

"Not going to protect one staffer + sacrifice the guy who was asked
to stick his neck in the meat grinder," Cheney wrote.

It's not clear how the claim that Libby was sacrificed for Rove's
benefit helps Libby in the case. But the argument embarrasses the
secretive Bush administration and potentially increases sympathy for
him among a jury that was heavily vetted because so many potential
jurors - including one CIA agent - had at least tangential ties to
the case in a capital known for its tangled relationships.

"What I think they're trying to do is contrast that he's a busy guy
who obviously could be expected not to remember a variety of things,"
Holder said, "and beyond that to show that he was being taken
advantage of by other people in the administration."

Although Rove was called for the defense, Holder said, that doesn't
mean he will be cooperative.

"They might even try to have him declared a hostile witness," Holder
said.

Libby's attorneys also indicated they want to know more about
immunity granted reluctantly by prosecutors to another presidential
aide, former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer.

Important Update On Zundel Saga.

There is no further "insider news" from court room observers in
Mannheim, other than additional Zundel hearing dates put on the
calender, all the way into March! I will let you know just as soon as
I know more about what actually played - which is usually not what
the ADL, Ha'aretz and Reuters report.

Meanwhile, my attorney and I converged on Cincinnati on Wednesday,
January 24, where we had an appeal hearing in the United States Court
of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on the still pending habeas corpus
petition.

Habeas corpus is a Constitutional provision which guarantees that
someone detained in the United States is entitled to see a judge to
show why he should not be deprived of his liberty. As all my readers
and much of the world by now know, Ernst never was permitted to go
before a judge. Even after being told in August 2004 by the
Cincinnati court to give us a hearing, the federal district court
judge in Knoxville washed his hands of the case, finding that he had
no jurisdiction over Ernst's petition, so we appealed again -- this
time being assigned to a new panel.

I am sorry to say that the judicial reception to the argument on our
habeas corpus petition did not go well, subjectively assessed,
although a judgment is still pending..

We did not know the names and backgrounds of the judges until the day
before, when we found out that there would be two women - Judge
Daughtrey (Clinton appointee) and Judge Cook (Bush appointee) - as
well as a district court judge appointed by Reagan, Judge Weber, a
World War II vet. Judge Cook, the youngest of the three, presided.

This trio became a duo of sorts - Judge Daughtrey was only going to
be on the telephone. I had a feeling this would not play well.

As judged by her vocabulary, Judge Cook seemed uninformed, as if she
had not read the detailed briefs we had submitted - or even been
briefed on the briefs. Judge Weber never said a word.

I knew that we would only have 15 minutes to make our case, and that
the judges could drain away part of that precious time by asking
peripheral or even hostile questions. That is exactly what happened.

Our attorney, Bruce Leichty, started out well. He opened his plea by
pointing out that "Justice delayed is justice denied," and had just
finished summarizing the injustice of Ernst's treatment in three
countries, when he was interrupted by the first question: "Now isn't
it true, Mr. Leichty, that Mr. Zundel entered the country under the
Visa Waiver Program?"

Bruce explained that this program had temporarily expired- "sunset"
is the word - by the time Ernst crossed the border for the last time
in May 2000 and therefore the government's case rested on wishful
thinking.

Ernst could not have, therefore, "signed away his right" to be before
a judge prior to deportation, with respect to his most recent entry
to the United States! He should not simply "have been swept up"! By
law, he was entitled to a hearing! At a hearing he could have shown
his eligibility for permanent residence through his marriage to me, a
United States citizen.

Bruce managed to suggest that this was an "extrajudicial rendition" -
meaning that this was a political kidnapping. For the record and to
have this term in the transcript is very important. Unfortunately,
Bruce could not finish what he had so carefully prepared and
condensed. Judge Daughtrey kept interrupting, arguing elementary
points and betraying her ignorance of immigration law. At one point
she opined that Ernst had used a "green card," the same mistake that
the Knoxville judge had made--Ernst never had a "green card." It
seemed clear that she had already made up her mind. Judge Cook backed
her up. Judge Weber simply sat there. The attorney for the United
States, Russell Verby, only used up his half of his allotted time--he
fielded only a couple questions probing his opinion about procedures
at Canadian ports of entry (to which our attorney objected during his
rebuttal time).

A decision is still outstanding - but chances are it will be
negative.

Ernst had told me that "S no silver-tongued argument is going to save
the day" - that the argument would stand or fall on how carefully the
appeal brief was prepared and would be read by assistants whose duty
it would be to relay the gist of the argument to the panel of judges.

I knew our briefs were good. Our argument was airtight legally.
Nonetheless, I had hoped to make the 15 minutes count, and I had
asked if I could speak part of the time. The court declared this was
impossible. Here is what I would have said - and what I suggested our
attorney might say in case I was turned down.

Suggested Summary for Appeal Court / Cincinnati - January 24, 2007

The government would like this panel to think that the Ernst Zundel
case was a routine deportation due to Visa overstay. Our contention
is that what happened to Ernst Zundel was a camouflaged post 9/11
extrajudicial rendition of a controversial activist inconvenient to a
powerful and influential lobby that used American and Canadian
officials as hit squads to corner and silence Ernst Zundel.

If I may, I would like to sketch the "Gestalt" of this post-9/11
tragedy that befell my clients, a couple of retirement age, in the
wake of the Patriot Act. My clients, Ernst and Ingrid Zundel, are of
German background and lifelong pacifist persuasion. Both experienced
World War II as very young, impressionable children. Both have
naturally a different view of history. In this country, it is still
legal to have a different view of history, as long as that view is
expressed civilly and non-violently.

Ingrid is a naturalized American. Ernst is a German national who
lived all his adult life in Canada where he became a household word
due to two highly publicized, controversial Holocaust trials in 1985
and 1988 that went through numerous appeals and ended in a 1992
Supreme Court decision in his favor.

What Ernst Zundel said, in writing and in speaking, was legal both in
Canada and the United States. It was seen as controversial, but it
was LEGAL.

Ernst and Ingrid married in January of 2000. Because Ernst still had
a publishing business in Canada, he did not permanently relocate to
America until May 21, 2000 when he crossed the border from Canada to
the United States for the last time. It is crucial to keep that date
in mind.

Ernst had crossed that border numerous times under a program called
the Visa Waiver Pilot Program - a visitor's permit that was valid for
3 months and had as one of its stipulations that if he overstayed, he
could be deported and did not have the right to contest that
deportation in a US court.

He took out such a permit in March of 2000 as he had done every three
months for the past ten years or so. That was, however, not his last
crossing! When he crossed for the last time, on May 21, 2000, the
VWPP had sunset. That program expired on April 30, 2000.

The government's claim rests on the date he took out his last permit,
March 12, 2000. The government erroneously assumed that that was the
last date when he crossed. However, he crossed the border on May 21,
being simply waved through, as was customary at that time for
Canadians with valid licence plates.

Shortly thereafter, Ernst and Ingrid consulted an experienced
immigration attorney, with whose help they applied for Adjustment of
Status for Ernst as the husband of an American citizen.

Their application was accepted by INS. Ernst received a Social
Security number, a work permit, and a permit that allowed him to
leave the US and return. He was fingerprinted by the FBI. He
submitted to a health check. He did all that with the assistance of
his immigration attorney.

The only last step for approval of Adjustment of Status was an
interview by INS officials.

Ernst and Ingrid had received a letter from INS that stated that it
could take up to three years for that final interview, and that no
interim status report would be granted.

Ernst and Ingrid simply waited for an appointment for that interview.
It was finally set for June 12, 2001.

Their attorney had a scheduling conflict and requested in writing
that the appointment be reset. There was no reply, so he sent another
letter, a year later, asking that this appointment be rescheduled -
this time with a postal return receipt, signed by the IRS.

Both of these letters have disappeared from INS files.

On February 5, 2003 Ernst was brutally arrested by five armed
government officials at his home in broad daylight and whisked away
in handcuffs and leg irons - allegedly for "having missed a hearing".
There was no arrest warrant. He was not allowed to call his attorney.
There was not even a deportation order. A paper called a "Warrant for
Deportation" was signed after he was already in custody.

Ernst was held in Blount County jail for ten days, where he was
terrorized with dogs and repeatedly verbally and at least once
physically abused by guards. Then he was taken by plane to Canada
where he was immediately arrested again and placed in what is
called "the hole" - brutal isolation in inhuman conditions. He
languished there for two years.

On March 1, 2003 he was deported from Canada and taken to Germany by
private executive plane - where he was immediately arrested again,
put in investigative custody, and charged with "Holocaust Denial."

As the husband of an American citizen, Ernst Zundel was entitled to
habeas corpus. He never saw a judge in America.

What followed was a horror story lasting, by now, four years of
judicial and prison abuse mindful of places such as Abu Ghraib and
Guanatanomo Bay.

The government would like this panel to believe that this was a
simple deportation due to overstay. That is a gross misrepresentation
of the facts. A simple deportation would not include 2 years in an
unheated isolation cell through two brutal Canadian winters where the
light never turned off, with inadequate food, with repeated refusal
of medical or dental care, with hundreds of humiliating strip
searches, sometimes even after a telephone call, with destruction of
original documents, with unsubstantiated charges of Ernst being
a "security threat to Canada" where secret witnesses were allowed to
testify whose stories could not be refuted, with deportation to
Germany in a private plane costing $100,000, with incarceration in
Germany - and with a pending, foregone conviction of prison time, due
any moment now, that could be as long as 15 years.

Ernst Zundel is now 67 years old. He has been banned from the United
States for 20 years.

We claim that this is a story of Homeland Security power gone mad!

Does the American Constitution still have the power to protect a
controversial but peaceful dissident, the husband of an American
citizen - or not? That is what is before you.

Habeas corpus could have nixed all this horror in the bud. It is not
too late. Our request to this panel is simple: Let us present the
facts of this case to an impartial judge in a habeas action. Through
FOIA requests, we have in our possession some 150 pounds of
documented evidence that this was a post 9/11 extrajudicial rendition
under the fig leaf of a simple deportation - as the government well
knows but does not want this impartial panel of judges to know.

arguments have started in Ernst's Zundel's trial, and that the
Prosecutor, Grossman, has asked for a prison sentence of 5 years for
Holocaust Denial.

A decision will be rendered in a week.

Pierre received this information from Ernst's sister, based in
Germany, who heard it on the radio. She said it was just a fifteen-
second announcement without any details.

An article in the Sunday Telegraph this weekend pointed towards
evidence that an secretive and elite unit of the British army is
actively engaged in recruiting and training Iraqi insurgents and
terrorists as double agents.

This confirms what many have speculated for a long time, that Britain
and the US are deeply involved in bombings and attacks inside Iraq
which are subsequently attributed either to Sunni insurgents or
shadowy terrorist cells such as "Al Qaeda in Iraq".

The Telegraph article states:

Deep inside the heart of the "Green Zone", the heavily fortified
administrative compound in Baghdad, lies one of the most carefully
guarded secrets of the war in Iraq. It is a cell from a small and
anonymous British Army unit that goes by the deliberately meaningless
name of the Joint Support Group (JSG), and it has proved to be one of
the Coalition's most effective and deadly weapons in the fight
against terror.

Its members - servicemen and women of all ranks recruited from all
three of the Armed Forces - are trained to turn hardened terrorists
into coalition spies using methods developed on the mean streets of
Ulster during the Troubles, when the Army managed to infiltrate the
IRA at almost every level. Since war broke out in Iraq in 2003, they
have been responsible for running dozens of Iraqi double agents.

A look into the history of the secretive JSG or Force Research Unit
(FRU), the cover name it operated under in Northern Ireland, reveals
the extent to which the British government supports and engages in
acts of terrorism in order to further its agenda in occupied
territories. Iraq, as it turns out, is unsurprisingly no exception.

The FRU is the same ultra secret cell of the SAS whose criminal
activities in Northern Ireland were under investigation by former
Scotland Yard commissioner Sir John Stevens for more than a decade,
during which time it emerged that the unit was involved in the murder
of civilians in Northern Ireland.

According to Detectives, 'Military intelligence was colluding with
terrorists to help them kill so-called "legitimate targets" such as
active republicans...many of the victims of these government backed
hit squads were innocent civilians.'

"Beginning in the 1980s the highly secretive FRU was sent into
Northern Ireland to recruit and train double agents to work inside
the paramilitary groups," writes Michael S. Rose.

blackmail, ambushes, and other methods not approved by the Geneva
Convention. In the worst case, British officers decided that in cases

groups that possessed both the desire and the means to murder the IRA
men. According to Stevens Three, the FRU assisted Protestant
terrorists in carrying out what were, in effect, proxy assassinations
of Catholics. In order to forge such alliances, the British officers
had to overlook the fact that the interests of the Protestant death
squads were not those of the United Kingdom and its government."

The FRU was further exposed by former member turned whistleblower
Kevin Fulton.

Fulton worked for the FRU for much of his career as he was
infiltrating the IRA. In his role as a British FRU agent inside the
IRA, he was told to 'do anything' to win the confidence of the
terrorist group. Fulton Told the Sunday Herald:

"I mixed explosive and I helped develop new types of bombs. I moved
weapons. If you ask me, 'Did I kill anyone?' then I will say 'no'.
But if you ask me if the materials I handled killed anyone, then I
will have to say that some of the things I helped develop did kill.

I reiterate, my handlers knew everything I did. I was never told not
to do something that was discussed. How can you pretend to be a
terrorist and not act like one? You can't. You've got to do what they
do. The people I was with were hard-hitters. They did a lot of
murders. If I couldn't be any good to them, then I was no use to the
army either. I had to do what the man standing next to me did.

I broke the law seven days a week and my handlers knew that. They
knew that I was making bombs and giving them to other members of the
IRA and they did nothing about it. If everything I touched turned to
shit then I would have been dead. The idea was that the only way to
beat the enemy was to penetrate the enemy and be the enemy. At the
time I'd no problem with this way of thinking."

Fulton revealed that his handlers told him that his operations
were 'sanctioned right at the top... this goes the whole way to the
Prime Minister. The Prime Minister knows what you are doing.'

Every major IRA bombing in England and Northern Ireland has had the
fingerprints of the British government and the FRU all over it.

  The August 1998 Omagh bombing, which killed 29 people, was known
ahead of time by the security services and yet the bomb team wasn't
intercepted. The reason? One of the members of the bomb squad was
working for army intelligence and MI5. The bombing was allowed to go
ahead.

Kevin Fulton claims that he phoned a warning to his RUC handlers 48
hours before the Omagh bombing that the Real IRA was planning an
attack and gave details of one of the bombing team and the man's car
registration.

Documents, lodged as part of a court action being taken against the
British government by a disgruntled military intelligence agent, also
reveled that an FRU major was the officer who was the handler of the
British army's most infamous agent inside the IRA -- a man codenamed
Stakeknife.

Stakeknife is one of Belfast's leading Provisionals. His military
handlers allowed him to carry out large numbers of terrorist murders
in order to protect his cover within the IRA.

The London Observer further revealed some of the methods employed by
the FRU in Northern Ireland, including the "human bomb" technique,
which involved "forcing civilians to drive vehicles laden with
explosives into army checkpoints".

This throws a great deal of light on at least one reported incident
in Iraq just over a year ago where British SAS agents, dressed in
Arab garb and head dress, were caught attempting to stage a terror
attack.

firing. According to the Basra governor Mohammed al-Waili, one
policeman was shot dead and another was injured.

Early reports cited as originating from BBC World Service radio
stated that the car used contained explosives.

in Iraq being killed as "legitimate targets"?

All agree that it is entirely plausible to suggest that the US and
British governments are operating an underlying strategy which serves
to keep the country mired in turmoil to justify the continued
presence of occupational forces.

In many cases the evidence suggests that the armed forces role is to
prod terrorist cells into action, thus exposing them to "quick-
response" attacks. The FRU revelations of recruiting, training and
equippingterrorists in Iraq is thus telling.

An even more startling question comes to mind, are everyday ground
troops being killed in attacks that their higher ups either have
extensive knowledge of or have actually coordinated themselves?

Recently there have been reports of US soldiers being killed by
insurgents wearing American military uniforms. Iraqi officials said
the gunmen disguised their intent with uniforms, American flak
jackets, guns and a convoy of at least seven GMC sport utility
vehicles, which are usually used by American officials in Iraq.

Further interesting light is thrown on this topic when one considers
that the explosives being used in many roadside bombs and car bomb
attacks in Iraq have been proven to be developed using advance
technology from photographic flash units, which were employed by the
IRA some 15 years ago after Irish terrorists were given advice by
British agents.

Kevin Fulton has again provided vital information on this, revealing
how MI5 helped to buy bomb parts and technology in the US which were
subsequently used by the FRU in Northern Ireland and have now found
their way into the hands of Iraqi resistance fighters.
"In late 1993 and early 1994, I went to America with officers from
MI5, the FRU and RUC special branch. They had already sourced the
transmitters and receivers in New York following liaison with their
counterparts in the FBI," Fulton told the Sunday Tribune in June,
2002. Fulton's trip was confirmed by the FBI, according to Matthew
Teague, writing for the Atlantic. The Independent on Sunday "has also
spoken to a republican who was a senior IRA member in the early
1990s. He confirmed that Mr. Fulton had introduced the IRA to the new
technology and that the IRA shared this with `like-minded
organizations abroad.'"

  There can be no more clearer evidence that our special forces are
recruiting, training and arming the Iraqi insurgents.

What's more, in an attempt to shift the blame away from British and
US special forces, the US government has attempted to pin the blame
for the use of this advance infra-red bomb technology on Iran:

"According to U.S. military figures, 198 American and British
soldiers have been killed, and more than 600 wounded by advanced
explosive devices manufactured in Iran and smuggled in through the
southern marshes and along the Tigris River. Attempts to disrupt
these networks, combined with the decision to send a second aircraft
carrier to the Persian Gulf as a warning to Iran, significantly
raises the stakes, according to former Assistant Secretary of State
Martin Indyk."

So all in all here we have clear evidence of Britain and the US
recruiting terrorists in Iraq, training them, providing explosives
and advanced detonating technology and then blaming the attacks on
Iran, thus raising the possibilities of widening the war across the
Iranian border.

The FRU is, as previously stated, a wing of the SAS. A cursory look
into some of the covert activities of the SAS, along with the
equivalent Delta forces in the US, involving terrorist groups again
reveals the fact that the British and US establishments are not
engaged in fighting a war on terror, they are perpetuating the terror
as part of their overall agenda.

British and American special forces notoriously paved the way for an
influx of radical Islamic mujahideen fighters and arms into the
Balkans in the early nineties and trained them in order to counter
Serbian forces during the Bosnian conflict.

The SAS, under a joint strategic directive of MI6 and the US Defence
Intelligence Agency, also later notoriously trained Kosovo Liberation
Army terrorists in the Balkans in the mid to late nineties. Several
investigations corroborated this.

The KLA was known to be heavy infiltrated at this time by "Al Qaeda"
or mujahideen fighters associated with Osama Bin Laden who had
declared a "global war on the US". It was even alleged that Bin Laden
had directly financed the group, yet the US and Britain still went
ahead and covertly trained the KLA.

The KLA was then used to increase ethnic tensions and further
destabilize the region, just as is happening now in Iraq. Attacks by
the KLA were used to justify Western intervention in the Balkans.

There is also extensive evidence to suggest that British and US
special forces have helped create, support and train Albanian terror
cells from which a great deal of the KLA finances are derived.
The activities of the FRU in Iraq need to be investigated
immediately. We have a branch of the military that is operating above
the law and outside of the Geneva convention within a theatre of war.
Moreover this unit has an extremely dirty past that involves carrying
out terrorist atrocities and blaming them on persons or groups it
wishes to see removed.

The driving agenda in Iraq is to set down permanent bases and
dominate the middle east from there. Thus the war is allowed to rage
on to keep our forces there.

Got Milk? You're Under Arrest.

In many states, you can possess it, but the law prohibits its sale.
It is a violation of federal law to transport the substance across
state lines with the intent to sell it. In many states, undercover
investigators are at work trying to uncover the furtive networks that
produce and distribute the stuff. Dealers have been pulled over and
spectacular quantities of the contraband substance have been seized
by triumphant investigators. Is this a tale from the War on Drugs?

Not exactly. But it is a tale from the war many states are conducting
on those who sell raw milk.

That's right, there is a dangerous underground of dairy devotees who
prefer to drink their milk straight from the cow, sans pasteurization
and homogenization – and government is increasingly out to stop them.
Some states, in fact, equate the sale of raw milk with the sale of
drugs. Consider this from Washington Post reporter Thomas Bartlett:

The issue of selling raw milk is, legally speaking, dicey. To
determine exactly how dicey, I call Ted Elkin, deputy director of the
Office of Food Protection and Consumer Health Services at the
Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Elkin is in charge
of making sure the state's dairy laws are enforced.

"So," I begin carefully, "Maryland's position on raw milk is . . .?"

"Raw milk is illegal for sale," Elkin says. "Period."

"Huh," I reply.

To help drive this point home, he compares selling raw milk to
selling pot.

"Interesting," I say. At that moment, I am standing in my kitchen
with the fridge door open, staring at my gallon of possible
contraband.

This seems positively surreal, like some parody of the war on drugs
aired on Saturday Night Live.

Proof that the war on contraband milk is taken all too seriously by
some state officials, Bartlett's conversation with Elkin next turned
frighteningly serious. Noting that Maryland lacks the resources to
track down all users of raw milk, Elkin suggested that the state
might eventually catch them. "Using an analogy, Elkin explains that a
small-time heroin dealer in Baltimore might be able to elude the
authorities for quite a while," Bartlett wrote of his interview with
Elkin. "So, during our conversation, raw milk was compared to
marijuana and heroin. What's more, Hitler's secret police were
mentioned – in passing, sure, but still."

Just like the War on Drugs, the War on Raw Milk is serious business.
Just ask farmer Richard Hebron. According to Time magazine, in
October of last year the Michigan man was pulled over by police near
Ann Arbor. According to Time, when police pulled him over,
they "ordered him to put his hands on the hood of his mud-splattered
truck and seized its contents: 453 gal. of milk." Hebron had already
been the subject of a large sting operation conducted by state Ag
officials.

As Time reported, "An undercover agricultural investigator had
infiltrated the co-op as part of a sting operation that resulted in
the seizure of $7,000 worth of fresh-food items, including 35 lbs. of
raw butter, 29 qt. of cream and all those gallons of the suspicious
white liquid. Although Hebron's home office was searched and his
computer seized, no charges have been filed. 'When they tested the
milk, they couldn't find any problems with it,' says Hebron. 'It
seems like they're just looking for some way to shut us down.'"
Similar sting operations have been conducted in other states,
including in Wisconsin, America's erstwhile "Dairy State," where one
might expect officials to have a slightly more generous attitude
toward the state's beleaguered dairy farmers.

Why the fuss over raw milk? Before the advent of pasteurization, raw
milk was widely consumed and was implicated in disease outbreaks in
during the 19th century that caused many deaths in American cities.
But that milk, according to some, was often contaminated in ways that
would be inconceivable today.

"Milk was commonly mixed with additives to gain profit," wrote author
Laurie Winn Carlson in her book Cattle, a history of the cow. "Then,
to make it look whole, additives were mixed in, such as carbonized
carrots, grilled onions, caramel, marigold petals, chalk, plaster,
white clay and starch. To replace the cream that had been removed,
emulsions of almonds and animal brains were dissolved in the liquid
to thicken it."

Today, raw milk supporters say, the product is safe. In California
where the sale of raw milk is legal, Organic Pastures Dairy says it
has sold more than 40 million servings of raw milk without complaint.
Moreover, raw milk advocates say the product is part of a healthy
diet. Pasteurization, they say, destroys important enzymes and
beneficial bacteria that exist in milk. Drink raw milk, they say, and
your arthritis pain will cease, your asthma will go away and you'll
lose weight. Give it to young children and they will be less likely
to get sick and suffer from allergies.

Are all such claims true? Who knows. But one thing is true: Selling
raw milk should not be illegal.

"There are 65,000 child-porn websites," Nancy Sanders, a raw milk
supporter, mother and pediatric nurse told Time. "Why doesn't the
government go after those?"

With dangerous criminals like dairy farmer Richard Hebron on the
loose peddling such dangerous stuff, those state governments don't
have time.

arms to those divisions voted for them by the Congress, the same
thing Washington did to South Vietnam and now is trying to do to our
own military in Iraq. Media here constantly characterized Mao Tse-
tung as an avuncular Chinese version of Abraham Lincoln. The Chinese
government, our longest, most loyal ally in the Far East, fell. Mao
became the biggest mass murderer in the history of the planet. See

It was Socialist con man Richard Nixon who "opened the door" to
Communist-occupied China. Socialist con man Bill Clinton took the
door off its hinges. Red China says the United States is the "main
enemy," but Clinton committed treason by doing everything he could to
build its military and nuclear capability.

And Communist world government traitor Jorge W. Boosh has continued
Clinton's policy. Do you not need to look long and hard today to find
things not made in Red China, from shoes to clothing to light bulbs?
Are not companies closing here and reopening in Red China?

All that is the result of the Bush/Clinton policy. General Motors
used to be an American company with foreign branches. Now it is a Red
Chinese company with American branches. Federal tax and fiscal policy
is driving American companies out of this country and into Red China.

There are other results. The Bush/Clinton policy has given Red
Chinese mob bosses the idea that they can get away with just about
anything, because they can. Early in the Bush regime, Red China
committed a literal act of war against the United States, by
attacking a U.S. Navy plane, forcing it down and imprisoning its
crew. Jorge W. Boosh did absolutely nothing. The recent kidnapping of
British marines in Iran was just a replay of what Red China did.

The Red Chinese have threatened to nuke Los Angeles. They were caught
smuggling hundreds of automatic weapons to American traitors for use
in a violent revolution. Remember, there never would have been a Red
Chinese threat had the Conspiracy for world government not
duplicitously created it in the first place.

Communist-occupied China is of course one of the world's biggest
Christian countries. Before long, it could be the biggest. There are
more Christians in Red China than there are in the United Kingdom.
They meet in home churches. The Reds routinely torture and lock them
up. It is Red China and the continuing Soviet Union that are the real
international threat to the United States. Iran is an annoying
pimple.

And in a scenario that smells like Dr. Mengele and his Nazis, the Red
Chinese now harvest organs—from living human beings in political
prisons—for lucrative transplant surgery. Do you need a kidney or a
liver? Get on the plane to Red China. You know all that. You also
know that el presidente Jorge W. Boosh, who loves to cross-dress as a
tough guy, has never done diddledy squat about any of it.

But now comes the latest occasion for these comments. Next Magazine,
a weekly out of Hong Kong, reports that the latest delicacy in
Communist-occupied China is the expertly prepared corpse of a baby.
No, you're not going crazy; you did read what you thought I just
said. People in Red China now are cannibalizing humans. In China, you
can even buy choice body parts from the hospitals.

The story appears in the Epoch Times, which says that Next Magazine
got wind of it in Taiwan, where a businessman hosted a banquet.
There, a servant named Liu from Liaoning Province on the mainland
inadvertently revealed the cannibalistic practice and her intention
to return to participate in it for health reasons. The Taiwanese
women present at the banquet were horrified.

The magazine asked the servant to escort a reporter to a location
where he could see a baby being prepared and she did so. The reporter
saw a woman chopping up a male "fetus" and making soup from the
placenta. The butcher told observers, "Don't be afraid, this is just
the flesh of a higher animal."

Epoch Times says that on March 22, 2003, police in Bingyan, Guangxi
Province seized 28 female babies smuggled in a truck from Yulin,
Guangxi Province going to Houzhou in Anhui Province. The oldest baby
was only three months old. The babies were packed three or four to a
bag and many of them were near death No one claimed them.

On the morning of October 9, 2004, someone rifling through the
garbage on the outskirts of Jiuquan city in the Suzhou region, found
dismembered babies in a dumpster. There were two heads, two torsos,
four arms, and six legs. According to the investigation, the corpses
were no more than a week old and they had been dismembered after
cooking.

Red China does have laws that prohibit the eating of human flesh, but
it also has a law that limits each couple to only one child. The law
is strictly enforced, and it motivates couples to kill girl babies
until they get a boy. Second babies and so on are forcibly aborted.
The result is many baby corpses that can be cooked and eaten.

Is this story from the mainland true? Or is it a concoction? In
modern warfare, one side routinely accuses the other of doing
something like this. In the first Gulf War, Kuwait accused the
invading Iraqis of throwing babies in hospital incubators on the
floor, which turned out to be utterly false.

But, remember that Mao Tse-tung killed more people than anyone else
in history, even more than Stalin. Hitler was in power for only 12
years; he did not have the time to kill anywhere near as many as did
Mao. Organ harvesting is a logical part of his legacy, and we know
that Red China does it.

So, the possibility that infant cannibalism is widespread on the
Chinese mainland also is a possible element of the monstrous legacy
of Mao. And we have nothing to boast about. Remember that because
Jorge W. Boosh is bringing Muslims here from Africa, Islamic
clitorectomy – female genital mutilation – is a growing practice in
New York, along with polygamy, as we saw last week.

What does all this have to do with Boosh? Again, Boosh has not voiced
a peep about the crimes of Red China. In fact, he sometimes calls it
an "ally." He visits Red China and makes generalized comments for the
record about the benefits of "freedom." Then he climbs back into Air
Force One and flies home. He thereby collaborates in those crimes he
fails to mention.

Too much is enough! We have long since passed the point at which
continued collaboration makes Boosh an accessory. We are talking
about something akin to the Nazi Holocaust. What could Boosh do short
of nuclear war? Remember what the West did to Rhodesia and South
Africa?

When the decision was made that those countries would be the next to
fall to the Communists, the West, with Washington heading the pack,
turned them into international pariahs. The District of Criminals
focused every conceivable pressure on them, from financial to
military to agricultural, etc. Everything that could be cut off was
cut off. World government forces expressed animus for Gary Player,
because the champion golfer inconveniently came from South Africa.
Washington kept up the pressure until those countries fell.

Yes, but those countries are relatively small. Could such tactics
work against a behemoth the size of Red China? I don't know. I do
know that Red China exists only because of the United States and is
as big and powerful as it is only because of the United States. I do
know that we have not passed the so-called point of no return – the
point at which we no longer could do something to take it down –
because when and if we do reach that point the Reds will launch a
nuclear attack against us. The fact that they have not means that
they are not yet able to do so.

So, we have nothing to lose by giving Red China the Rhodesia
treatment. Whatever we do would make such an attack correspondingly
less likely than the suicidal policy we are implementing now. But
that change could only happen were Americans miraculously running our
government.

I recognize that I am merely hypothesizing ineffectually; there is as
much chance that Washington will reverse our policy on Red China as
there is that Boosh will convert to Christianity. He is a monster.
Yes, it is not your fault, but, meanwhile, consider what your
purchase is financing the next time you buy something made in Red
China.

A British government Ministry of Defence report outlines a nightmare future society in which the population are forced to accept brain chips, immigration and urbanization ravages communities, class warfare ensues, and biological and neutron weapons are used to combat overpopulation.

The MoD's Development, Concepts & Doctrine Center drew up the document to crystallize the "future strategic context" likely to face Britain's armed forces, according to a report in the London Guardian today.

Since every deliberate action of government and industry is working to realize this future, we should look at this as a strategy plan rather than a warning of things to come.

The report hypothesizes what the world will be like in under 30 years and is an "analysis of the key risks and shocks" the planet is likely to face. It's predictions include;

- The development of neutron weapons that destroy living organs but not buildings and "make a weapon of choice for extreme ethnic cleansing in an increasingly populated world." Such weapons would be dispersed by means of unmanned vehicles, leading to "application of lethal force without human intervention, raising consequential legal and ethical issues."

- Within 30 years implanted brain chips as standard for all citizens in developed nations.

- A mass revolt on behalf of the middle classes of the developed world in opposition to rampant immigration, an urban under-class and the deterioration of social order.

- The revival of Marxism as a replacement for religion in an increasingly morally relativist age.

- Unchecked globalization that effectively ends the nation state and leads to wars based on territorial belief systems rather than country against country.

- A sharp decline in the population of white Europeans but an 81% increase in the population of sub-Saharan Africa and that of Middle Eastern countries by 132%.

- Endemic unemployment, instability and threat to the social order as a result of population increase.

- The emergence of a "terrorist coalition," an alliance of belief systems that oppose the state, from environmentalists to "ultra-nationalists" and remnants of religious groups.

The clear implication from this report is that any political or religious group that expresses opposition to the atheistic and dictatorial agenda of the state will be collectively demonized as terrorists and targeted for elimination and ethnic cleansing.

This is the very new world order that the establishment have sought to create by allowing rampant immigration, using the progress of technology to enslave us, launching endless war and shaping the course of history to construct a prison planet.

The elite are deliberately steering world events and engaging in psychological warfare to achieve this self-fulfilling apocalypse. They are hell-bent on manufacturing an end-times scenario similar to that described in Revelations, and whether you believe in the Bible or not, our future is being decided by maniacal psychopaths sworn to destroy humanity.

Every time we study government white papers and strategy documents, whether it be RAND, PNAC or any other major think tank, we come across an obsession with thinning the population by means of horrific acts of ethnic cleansing. In this instance, the plan isn't even veiled under the umbrella of terrorism, it clearly implies that states will deploy weapons of mass destruction to wipe out huge swathes of the population, and particularly those who express opposition to government.

Who wrote these words in their own strategy document? The Nazis? The regime of Pol Pot?

No, it was Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, William Kristol, Donald Rumsfeld and the rest of the Neo-Con collaborators that formed the Project For a New American Century - the ideological framework of the Bush administration.

Armed Forces Journal, a mouthpiece for the military-industrial complex, last year carried a strategy plan for completely redrawing the borders of the Middle East written by retired Major Ralph Peters.

The document cites peak oil, an economic crash in 2008 and global warming as reasons for a chaotic convergence that will require harsh action on behalf of government.

"Oh, and one other dirty little secret from 5,000 years of history," writes Peters, "Ethnic cleansing works."

"There will be no peace. At any given moment for the rest of our lifetimes, there will be multiple conflicts in mutating forms around the globe. Violent conflict will dominate the headlines, but cultural and economic struggles will be steadier and ultimately more decisive. The de facto role of the US armed forces will be to keep the world safe for our economy and open to our cultural assault. To those ends, we will do a fair amount of killing."

Ethnic cleansing is also popular amongst the establishment scientific community who advocate mass scale eugenics programs to "cull" humanity down to manageable levels. One such example is Dr. Erik Pianka, who made headlines last year when he gave a speech to the Texas Academy of Science in which he advocated the need to exterminate 90% of the population through the airborne ebola virus. The vast majority of his audience, students, scientists and professors alike, stood and cheered when Pianka labeled humanity a bacteria that had to be eliminated.

Similar sentiments are echoed by people like Prince Philip, who in the foreword to his 1986 book If I Were an Animal, wrote, "In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation."

"The simplest answer is that the world's population should be about two billion, and we've got about six billion now," media mogul Ted Turner told E Magazine, an environmentalist publication.

Turner went even further in an interview with Audubon Magazine.

"A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal."

In a 1991 interview with the UNESCO Courier, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, the famous Emmy award winning film producer who went on to be a kingpin of the environmental movement said,

"It's terrible to have to say this. World population must be stabilized and to do that we must eliminate 350,000 people per day."

The global elite and the military-industrial complex have already sworn to inflict genocide to ethnically cleanse world population down to levels that are more easy to control and enslave. This is the ultimate end game of the New World Order - giving birth to the apocalypse and manufacturing hell on earth.

No longer can this be dismissed as a paranoid conspiracy theory when the very architects of this horror are openly discussing it on a regular basis in their own planning documents.

Car theft victims pay police £105 to investigate.

MOTORISTS whose cars are stolen are being told they must pay the
police at least £105 if they want them to recover their vehicle when
it is found and check it for forensic clues.

The scheme — being implemented by forces across the country — has
been attacked by angry motorists.

Only car owners who agree to pay the fee, which in theory is to cover
storage, are assured their cars will be "forensicated" — which means
dusted down for fingerprints or swabbed for DNA.

A police letter approved by the Home Office warns motorists who
recover their own vehicles that the cars will not be checked for
clues. It states: "[The police force will accept] no further
responsibility and will be unable to take further action to identify
the person who took it."

Opposition MPs this weekend attacked the charges, which often cannot
be recovered under car insurance policies, for penalising the victims
of car crime.

David Davis, the shadow home secretary, said: "Taxpayers already pay
twice for policing, through central taxation and council tax.

"It's ludicrous to charge them a third time for the police to do
their normal job when their cars have been stolen through no fault of
their own."

While victims of car theft will automatically be charged if they want
the vehicle taken to a "forensic car pound" for tests, there are no
similar fees for any other police services. Victims of burglary are
not offered any optional fees to guarantee forensic tests when they
report a break-in.

"This is an absolute scam," said Don Astwood, 54, who is disabled and
was levied with the £105 charge and a storage fee of about £100 after
his car was stolen outside his home in Rochdale, Greater
Manchester. "My car was found legally parked a few miles away where I
could have picked it up, but they charged me to take it another 10
miles further away where they checked it for fingerprints."

Chris Haslam, a travel writer from north London, said he
was "flabbergasted" when he reported his Land Rover stolen last week
and was told of the "new service". The alternative was that he would
be given the car's location if it was found and he could "retrieve it
himself".

"That's free, sir," the operator told him. The number of cars stolen
each year in England and Wales has more than halved in the past 10
years as manufacturers develop more sophisticated security systems.
In 2005-06 203,600 cars were stolen, half of which were recovered.

on my private property. Police towed it without a parking ticket, so
I had no court hearing due process or notice. Police said on their

police dispatch, the police denied that they towed it. When I called
the towing contractor, they denied that they towed it. So I listed it
as stolen in NCIC police databse. 2 months later I got a tow bill for
$750. My second car was stolen by towtruckers from a car dealership
parking lot (without police), and they tried to get title to it
without any notice to me (state police give towtruckers free title to
any vehicle). When I tracked down who had it, they refused to give me
a written invoice, but wanted $1,500 tow bill, caught on videotape.
After 3 class action lawsuits in 4 courts, and filing felony criminal
charges against the cops, and a special city council meeting, over
100 towing contractors were fired, and the court clerk fired for
extortion, theft and fraud for the top secret court docket. But I
never got my cars back. My lawyer got 2 guns put to his head and

From China to Panama, a Trail of Poisoned Medicine.

     The kidneys fail first. Then the central nervous system begins to
misfire. Paralysis spreads, making breathing difficult, then often
impossible without assistance. In the end, most victims die.

     Many of them are children, poisoned at the hands of their
unsuspecting parents.

     The syrupy poison, diethylene glycol, is an indispensable part of
the modern world, an industrial solvent and prime ingredient in some
antifreeze.

     It is also a killer. And the deaths, if not intentional, are
often no accident.

     Over the years, the poison has been loaded into all varieties of
medicine - cough syrup, fever medication, injectable drugs - a result
of counterfeiters who profit by substituting the sweet-tasting
solvent for a safe, more expensive syrup, usually glycerin, commonly
used in drugs, food, toothpaste and other products.

     Toxic syrup has figured in at least eight mass poisonings around
the world in the past two decades. Researchers estimate that
thousands have died. In many cases, the precise origin of the poison
has never been determined. But records and interviews show that in
three of the last four cases it was made in China, a major source of
counterfeit drugs.

     Panama is the most recent victim. Last year, government officials
there unwittingly mixed diethylene glycol into 260,000 bottles of
cold medicine - with devastating results. Families have reported 365
deaths from the poison, 100 of which have been confirmed so far. With
the onset of the rainy season, investigators are racing to exhume as
many potential victims as possible before bodies decompose even more.

     Panama's death toll leads directly to Chinese companies that made
and exported the poison as 99.5 percent pure glycerin.

     Forty-six barrels of the toxic syrup arrived via a poison
pipeline stretching halfway around the world. Through shipping
records and interviews with government officials, The New York Times
traced this pipeline from the Panamanian port of Colón, back through
trading companies in Barcelona, Spain, and Beijing, to its beginning
near the Yangtze Delta in a place local people call "chemical
country."

     The counterfeit glycerin passed through three trading companies
on three continents, yet not one of them tested the syrup to confirm
what was on the label. Along the way, a certificate falsely attesting
to the purity of the shipment was repeatedly altered, eliminating the
name of the manufacturer and previous owner. As a result, traders
bought the syrup without knowing where it came from, or who made it.
With this information, the traders might have discovered - as The
Times did - that the manufacturer was not certified to make
pharmaceutical ingredients.

     An examination of the two poisoning cases last year - in Panama
and earlier in China - shows how China's safety regulations have
lagged behind its growing role as low-cost supplier to the world. It
also demonstrates how a poorly policed chain of traders in country
after country allows counterfeit medicine to contaminate the global
market.

     Last week, the United States Food and Drug Administration warned
drug makers and suppliers in the United States "to be especially
vigilant" in watching for diethylene glycol. The warning did not
specifically mention China, and it said there was "no reason to
believe" that glycerin in this country was tainted. Even so, the
agency asked that all glycerin shipments be tested for diethylene
glycol, and said it was "exploring how supplies of glycerin become
contaminated."

     China is already being accused by United States authorities of
exporting wheat gluten containing an industrial chemical, melamine,
that ended up in pet food and livestock feed. The F.D.A. recently
banned imports of Chinese-made wheat gluten after it was linked to
pet deaths in the United States.

     Beyond Panama and China, toxic syrup has caused mass poisonings
in Haiti, Bangladesh, Argentina, Nigeria and twice in India.

     In Bangladesh, investigators found poison in seven brands of
fever medication in 1992, but only after countless children died. A
Massachusetts laboratory detected the contamination after Dr. Michael
L. Bennish, a pediatrician who works in developing countries,
smuggled samples of the tainted syrup out of the country in a
suitcase. Dr. Bennish, who investigated the Bangladesh epidemic and
helped write a 1995 article about it for BMJ, formerly known as the
British Medical Journal, said that given the amount of medication
distributed, deaths "must be in the thousands or tens of thousands."

     "It's vastly underreported," Dr. Bennish said of diethylene
glycol poisoning. Doctors might not suspect toxic medicine,
particularly in poor countries with limited resources and a generally
unhealthy population, he said, adding, "Most people who die don't
come to a medical facility."

     The makers of counterfeit glycerin, which superficially looks and
acts like the real thing but generally costs considerably less, are
rarely identified, much less prosecuted, given the difficulty of
tracing shipments across borders. "This is really a global problem,
and it needs to be handled in a global way," said Dr. Henk Bekedam,
the World Health Organization's top representative in Beijing.

     Seventy years ago, medicine laced with diethylene glycol killed
more than 100 people in the United States, leading to the passage of
the toughest drug regulations of that era and the creation of the
modern Food and Drug Administration.

     The F.D.A. has tried to help in poisoning cases around the world,
but there is only so much it can do.

     When at least 88 children died in Haiti a decade ago, F.D.A.
investigators traced the poison to the Manchurian city of Dalian, but
their attempts to visit the suspected manufacturer were repeatedly
blocked by Chinese officials, according to internal State Department
records. Permission was granted more than a year later, but by then
the plant had moved and its records had been destroyed.

     "Chinese officials we contacted on this matter were all reluctant
to become involved," the American Embassy in Beijing wrote in a
confidential cable. "We cannot be optimistic about our chances for
success in tracking down the other possible glycerine shipments."

     In fact, The Times found records showing that the same Chinese
company implicated in the Haiti poisoning also shipped about 50 tons
of counterfeit glycerin to the United States in 1995. Some of it was
later resold to another American customer, Avatar Corporation, before
the deception was discovered.

     "Thank God we caught it when we did," said Phil Ternes, chief
operating officer of Avatar, a Chicago-area supplier of bulk
pharmaceuticals and nonmedicinal products. The F.D.A. said it was
unaware of the shipment.

     In China, the government is vowing to clean up its pharmaceutical
industry, in part because of criticism over counterfeit drugs
flooding the world markets. In December, two top drug regulators were
arrested on charges of taking bribes to approve drugs. In addition,
440 counterfeiting operations were closed down last year, the World
Health Organization said.

     But when Chinese officials investigated the role of Chinese
companies in the Panama deaths, they found that no laws had been
broken, according to an official of the nation's drug enforcement
agency. China's drug regulation is "a black hole," said one trader
who has done business through CNSC Fortune Way, the Beijing-based
broker that investigators say was a crucial conduit for the Panama
poison.

     In this environment, Wang Guiping, a tailor with a ninth-grade
education and access to a chemistry book, found it easy to enter the
pharmaceutical supply business as a middleman. He quickly discovered
what others had before him: that counterfeiting was a simple way to
increase profits.

     And then people in China began to die.

     Cheating the System

     Mr. Wang spent years as a tailor in the manufacturing towns of
the Yangtze Delta, in eastern China. But he did not want to remain a
common craftsman, villagers say. He set his sights on trading
chemicals, a business rooted in the many small chemical plants that
have sprouted in the region.

     "He didn't know what he was doing," Mr. Wang's older brother,
Wang Guoping, said in an interview. "He didn't understand chemicals."

     But he did understand how to cheat the system.

     Wang Guiping, 41, realized he could earn extra money by
substituting cheaper, industrial-grade syrup - not approved for human
consumption - for pharmaceutical grade syrup. To trick pharmaceutical
buyers, he forged his licenses and laboratory analysis reports,
records show.

     Mr. Wang later told investigators that he figured no harm would
come from the substitution, because he initially tested a small
quantity. He did it with the expertise of a former tailor.

     He swallowed some of it. When nothing happened, he shipped it.

     One company that used the syrup beginning in early 2005 was
Qiqihar No. 2 Pharmaceutical, about 1,000 miles away in Heilongjiang
Province in the northeast. A buyer for the factory had seen a posting
for Mr. Wang's syrup on an industry Web site.

     After a while, Mr. Wang set out to find an even cheaper
substitute syrup so he could increase his profit even more, according
to a Chinese investigator. In a chemical book he found what he was
looking for: another odorless syrup - diethylene glycol. At the time,
it sold for 6,000 to 7,000 yuan a ton, or about $725 to $845, while
pharmaceutical-grade syrup cost 15,000 yuan, or about $1,815,
according to the investigator.

     Mr. Wang did not taste-test this second batch of syrup before
shipping it to Qiqihar Pharmaceutical, the government investigator
said, adding, "He knew it was dangerous, but he didn't know that it
could kill."

     The manufacturer used the toxic syrup in five drug products:
ampules of Amillarisin A for gall bladder problems; a special enema
fluid for children; an injection for blood vessel diseases; an
intravenous pain reliever; and an arthritis treatment.

     In April 2006, one of southern China's finest hospitals, in
Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, began administering Amillarisin A.
Within a month or so, at least 18 people had died after taking the
medicine, though some had already been quite sick.

     Zhou Jianhong, 33, said his father took his first dose of
Amillarisin A on April 19. A week later he was in critical
condition. "If you are going to die, you want to die at home," Mr.
Zhou said. "So we checked him out of the hospital." He died the next
day.

     "Everybody wants to invest in the pharmaceutical industry and it
is growing, but the regulators can't keep up," Mr. Zhou said. "We
need a system to assure our safety."

     The final death count is unclear, since some people who took the
medicine may have died in less populated areas.

     In a small town in Sichuan Province, a man named Zhou Lianghui
said the authorities would not acknowledge that his wife had died
from taking tainted Amillarisin A. But Mr. Zhou, 38, said he matched
the identification number on the batch of medicine his wife received
with a warning circular distributed by drug officials.

     "You probably cannot understand a small town if you are in
Beijing," Zhou Lianghui said in a telephone interview. "The sky is
high, and the emperor is far away. There are a lot of problems here
that the law cannot speak to."

     The failure of the government to stop poison from contaminating
the drug supply caused one of the bigger domestic scandals of the
year. Last May, China's premier, Wen Jiabao, ordered an investigation
of the deaths, declaring, "The pharmaceutical market is in disorder."

     At about the same time, 9,000 miles away in Panama, the long
rainy season had begun. Anticipating colds and coughs, the government
health program began manufacturing cough and antihistamine syrup. The
cough medicine was sugarless so that even diabetics could use it.

     The medicine was mixed with a pale yellow, almost translucent
syrup that had arrived in 46 barrels from Barcelona on the container
ship Tobias Maersk. Shipping records showed the contents to be 99.5
percent pure glycerin.

     It would be months and many deaths later before that
certification was discovered to be pure fiction.

     A Mysterious Illness

     Early last September, doctors at Panama City's big public
hospital began to notice patients exhibiting unusual symptoms.

     They initially appeared to have Guillain-Barré syndrome, a
relatively rare neurological disorder that first shows up as a
weakness or tingling sensation in the legs. That weakness often
intensifies, spreading upward to the arms and chest, sometimes
causing total paralysis and an inability to breathe.

     The new patients had paralysis, but it did not spread upward.
They also quickly lost their ability to urinate, a condition not
associated with Guillain-Barré. Even more unusual was the number of
cases. In a full year, doctors might see eight cases of Guillain-
Barré, yet they saw that many in just two weeks.

     Doctors sought help from an infectious disease specialist, Néstor
Sosa, an intense, driven doctor who competes in triathlons and high-
level chess.

     Dr. Sosa's medical specialty had a long, rich history in Panama,
once known as one of the world's unhealthiest places. In one year in
the late 1800s, a lethal mix of yellow fever and malaria killed
nearly 1 in every 10 residents of Panama City. Only after the United
States managed to overcome those mosquito-borne diseases was it able
to build the Panama Canal without the devastation that undermined an
earlier attempt by the French.

     The suspected Guillain-Barré cases worried Dr. Sosa. "It was
something really extraordinary, something that was obviously reaching
epidemic dimensions in our hospital," he said.

     With the death rate from the mystery illness near 50 percent, Dr.
Sosa alerted the hospital management, which asked him to set up and
run a task force to handle the situation. The assignment, a daunting
around-the-clock dash to catch a killer, was one he eagerly embraced.

     Several years earlier, Dr. Sosa had watched as other doctors
identified the cause of another epidemic, later identified as
hantavirus, a pathogen spread by infected rodents.

     "I took care of patients but I somehow felt I did not do enough,"
he said. The next time, he vowed, would be different.

     Dr. Sosa set up a 24-hour "war room" in the hospital, where
doctors could compare notes and theories as they scoured medical
records for clues.

     As a precaution, the patients with the mystery illness were
segregated and placed in a large empty room awaiting renovation.
Health care workers wore masks, heightening fears in the hospital and
the community.

     "That spread a lot of panic," said Dr. Jorge Motta, a
cardiologist who runs the Gorgas Memorial Institute, a widely
respected medical research center in Panama. "That is always a
terrifying thought, that you will be the epicenter of a new
infectious disease, and especially a new infectious disease that
kills with a high rate of death, like this."

     Meanwhile, patients kept coming, and hospital personnel could
barely keep up.

     "I ended up giving C.P.R.," Dr. Sosa said. "I haven't given
C.P.R. since I was a resident, but there were so many crises going
on."

     Frightened hospital patients had to watch others around them die
for reasons no one understood, fearing that they might be next.

     As reports of strange Guillain-Barré symptoms started coming in
from other parts of the country, doctors realized they were not just
dealing with a localized outbreak.

     Pascuala Pérez de González, 67, sought treatment for a cold at a
clinic in Coclé Province, about a three-hour drive from Panama City.
In late September she was treated and sent home. Within days, she
could no longer eat; she stopped urinating and went into convulsions.

     A decision was made to take her to the public hospital in Panama
City, but on the way she stopped breathing and had to be
resuscitated. She arrived at the hospital in a deep coma and later
died.

     Medical records contained clues but also plenty of false leads.
Early victims tended to be males older than 60 and diabetic with high
blood pressure. About half had been given Lisinopril, a blood
pressure medicine distributed by the public health system.

     But many who did not receive Lisinopril still got sick. On the
chance that those patients might have forgotten that they had taken
the drug, doctors pulled Lisinopril from pharmacy shelves - only to
return it after tests found nothing wrong.

     Investigators would later discover that Lisinopril did play an
important, if indirect role in the epidemic, but not in the way they
had imagined.

     A Major Clue

     One patient of particular interest to Dr. Sosa came into the
hospital with a heart attack, but no Guillain-Barré-type symptoms.
While undergoing treatment, the patient received several drugs,
including Lisinopril. After a while, he began to exhibit the same
neurological distress that was the hallmark of the mystery illness.

     "This patient is a major clue," Dr. Sosa recalled saying. "This
is not something environmental, this is not a folk medicine that's
been taken by the patients at home. This patient developed the
disease in the hospital, in front of us."

     Soon after, another patient told Dr. Sosa that he, too, developed
symptoms after taking Lisinopril, but because the medicine made him
cough, he also took cough syrup - the same syrup, it turned out, that
had been given to the heart patient.

     "I said this has got to be it," Dr. Sosa recalled. "We need to
investigate this cough syrup."

     The cough medicine had not initially aroused much suspicion
because many victims did not remember taking it. "Twenty-five percent
of those people affected denied that they had taken cough syrup,
because it's a nonevent in their lives," Dr. Motta said.

     Investigators from the United States Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention, who were in Panama helping out, quickly put the
bottles on a government jet and flew them to the United States for
testing. The next day, Oct. 11, as Panamanian health officials were
attending a news conference, a Blackberry in the room went off.

     The tests, the C.D.C. was reporting, had turned up diethylene
glycol in the cough syrup.

     The mystery had been solved. The barrels labeled glycerin turned
out to contain poison.

     Dr. Sosa's exhilaration at learning the cause did not last
long. "It's our medication that is killing these people," he said he
thought. "It's not a virus, it's not something that they got outside,
but it was something we actually manufactured."

     A nationwide campaign was quickly begun to stop people from using
the cough syrup. Neighborhoods were searched, but thousands of
bottles either had been discarded or could not be found.

     As the search wound down, two major tasks remained: count the
dead and assign blame. Neither has been easy.

     A precise accounting is all but impossible because, medical
authorities say, victims were buried before the cause was known, and
poor patients might not have seen doctors.

     Another problem is that finding traces of diethylene glycol in
decomposing bodies is difficult at best, medical experts say.
Nonetheless, an Argentine pathologist who has studied diethylene
glycol poisonings helped develop a test for the poison in exhumed
bodies. Seven of the first nine bodies tested showed traces of the
poison, Panamanian authorities said.

     With the rainy season returning, though, the exhumations are
about to end. Dr. José Vicente Pachar, director of Panama's Institute
of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, said that as a scientist he
would like a final count of the dead. But he added, "I should accept
the reality that in the case of Panama we are not going to know the
exact number."

     Local prosecutors have made some arrests and are investigating
others connected to the case, including officials of the import
company and the government agency that mixed and distributed the cold
medicine. "Our responsibilities are to establish or discover the
truth," said Dimas Guevara, the homicide investigator guiding the
inquiry.

     But prosecutors have yet to charge anyone with actually making
the counterfeit glycerin. And if the Panama investigation unfolds as
other inquiries have, it is highly unlikely that they ever will.

     A Suspect Factory

     Panamanians wanting to see where their toxic nightmare began
could look up the Web site of the company in Hengxiang, China, that
investigators in four countries have identified as having made the
syrup - the Taixing Glycerine Factory. There, under the words "About
Us," they would see a picture of a modern white building nearly a
dozen stories tall, adorned by three arches at the entrance. The
factory, the Web site boasts, "can strictly obey the contract and
keep its word."

     But like the factory's syrup, all is not as it seems.

     There are no tall buildings in Hengxiang, a country town with one
main road. The factory is not certified to sell any medical
ingredients, Chinese officials say. And it looks nothing like the
picture on the Internet. In reality, its chemicals are mixed in a
plain, one-story brick building.

     The factory is in a walled compound, surrounded by small shops
and farms. In the spring, nearby fields of rape paint the countryside
yellow. Near the front gate, a sign over the road warns, "Beware of
counterfeits." But it was posted by a nearby noodle machine factory
that appears to be worried about competition.

     The Taixing Glycerine Factory bought its diethylene glycol from
the same manufacturer as Mr. Wang, the former tailor, the government
investigator said. From this spot in China's chemical country, the 46
barrels of toxic syrup began their journey, passing from company to
company, port to port and country to country, apparently without
anyone testing their contents.

     Traders should be thoroughly familiar with their suppliers,
United States health officials say. "One simply does not assume that
what is labeled is indeed what it is," said Dr. Murray Lumpkin,
deputy commissioner for international and special programs for the
Food and Drug Administration.

     In the Panama case, names of suppliers were removed from shipping
documents as they passed from one entity to the next, according to
records and investigators. That is a practice some traders use to
prevent customers from bypassing them on future purchases, but it
also hides the provenance of the product.

     The first distributor was the Beijing trading company, CNSC
Fortune Way, a unit of a state-owned business that began by supplying
goods and services to Chinese personnel and business officials
overseas.

     As China's market reach expanded, Fortune Way focused its
business on pharmaceutical ingredients, and in 2003, it brokered the
sale of the suspect syrup made by the Taixing Glycerine Factory. The
manufacturer's certificate of analysis showed the batch to be 99.5
percent pure.

     Whether the Taixing Glycerine Factory actually performed the test
has not been publicly disclosed.

     Original certificates of analysis should be passed on to each new
buyer, said Kevin J. McGlue, a board member of the International
Pharmaceutical Excipients Council. In this case, that was not done.

     Fortune Way translated the certificate into English, putting its
name - not the Taixing Glycerine Factory's - at the top of the
document, before shipping the barrels to a second trading company,
this one in Barcelona.

     Li Can, managing director at Fortune Way, said he did not
remember the transaction and could not comment, adding, "There is a
high volume of trade."

     Upon receiving the barrels in September 2003, the Spanish
company, Rasfer International, did not test the contents, either. It
copied the chemical analysis provided by Fortune Way, then put its
logo on it. Ascensión Criado, Rasfer's manager, said in an e-mail
response to written questions that when Fortune Way shipped the
syrup, it did not say who made it.

     Several weeks later, Rasfer shipped the drums to a Panamanian
broker, the Medicom Business Group. "Medicom never asked us for the
name of the manufacturer," Ms. Criado said.

     A lawyer for Medicom, Valentín Jaén, said his client was a
victim, too. "They were tricked by somebody," Mr. Jaén said. "They
operated in good faith."

     In Panama, the barrels sat unused for more than two years, and
officials said Medicom improperly changed the expiration date on the
syrup.

     During that time, the company never tested the product. And the
Panamanian government, which bought the 46 barrels and used them to
make cold medicine, also failed to detect the poison, officials said.

     The toxic pipeline ultimately emptied into the bloodstream of
people like Ernesto Osorio, a former high school teacher in Panama
City. He spent two months in the hospital after ingesting poison
cough syrup last September.

     Just before Christmas, after a kidney dialysis treatment, Mr.
Osorio stood outside the city's big public hospital in a tear-
splattered shirt, describing what his life had become.

     "I'm not an eighth of what I used to be," Mr. Osorio said, his
partly paralyzed face hanging like a slab of meat. "I have trouble
walking. Look at my face, look at my tears." The tears, he said
apologetically, were not from emotion, but from nerve damage.

     And yet, Mr. Osorio knows he is one of the lucky victims.

     "They didn't know how to keep the killer out of the medicine," he
said simply.

     While the suffering in Panama was great, the potential profit -
at least for the Spanish trading company, Rasfer - was surprisingly
small. For the 46 barrels of glycerin, Rasfer paid Fortune Way
$9,900, then sold them to Medicom for $11,322, according to records.

     Chinese authorities have not disclosed how much Fortune Way and
the Taixing Glycerine Factory made on their end, or how much they
knew about what was in the barrels.

     "The fault has to be traced back to areas of production," said
Dr. Motta, the cardiologist in Panama who helped uncover the source
of the epidemic. "This was my plea - please, this thing is happening
to us, make sure whoever did this down the line is not doing it to
Peru or Sierra Leone or some other place."

     A Counterfeiter's Confession

     The power to prosecute the counterfeiters is now in the hands of
the Chinese.

     Last spring, the government moved quickly against Mr. Wang, the
former tailor who poisoned Chinese residents.

     The authorities caught up with him at a roadblock in Taizhou, a
city just north of Taixing, in chemical country. He was weak and
sick, and he had not eaten in two days. Inside his white sedan was a
bankbook and cash. He had fled without his wife and teenage son.

     Chinese patients were dead, a political scandal was brewing and
the authorities wanted answers. Mr. Wang was taken to a hospital.
Then, in long sessions with investigators, he gave them what they
wanted, explaining his scheme, how he tested industrial syrup by
drinking it, how he decided to use diethylene glycol and how he
conned pharmaceutical companies into buying his syrup, according to a
government official who was present for his interrogation.

     "He made a fortune, but none of it went to his family," said Wang
Xiaodong, a former village official who knows Mr. Wang and his
siblings. "He liked to gamble."

     Mr. Wang remains in custody as the authorities decide whether he
should be put to death. The Qiqihar drug plant that made the
poisonous medicine has been closed, and five employees are now being
prosecuted for causing "a serious accident."

     In contrast to the Wang Guiping investigation, Chinese
authorities have been tentative in acknowledging China's link to the
Panama tragedy, which involved a state-owned trading company. No one
in China has been charged with committing the fraud that ended up
killing so many in Panama.

     Sun Jing, the pharmaceutical program officer for the World Health
Organization in Beijing, said the health agency sent a fax "to remind
the Chinese government that China should not be selling poisonous
products overseas." Ms. Sun said the agency did not receive an
official reply.

     Last fall, at the request of the United States - Panama has no
diplomatic relations with China - the State Food and Drug
Administration of China investigated the Taixing Glycerine Factory
and Fortune Way.

     The agency tested one batch of glycerin from the factory, and
found no glycerin, only diethylene glycol and two other substances, a
drug official said.

     Since then, the Chinese drug administration has concluded that it
has no jurisdiction in the case because the factory is not certified
to make medicine.

     The agency reached a similar conclusion about Fortune Way, saying
that as an exporter it was not engaged in the pharmaceutical business.

     "We did not find any evidence that either of these companies had
broken the law," said Yan Jiangying, a spokeswoman for the drug
administration. "So a criminal investigation was never opened."

     A drug official said the investigation was subsequently handed
off to an agency that tests and certifies commercial products - the
General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and
Quarantine.

     But the agency acted surprised to learn that it was now in
charge. "What investigation?" asked Wang Jian, director of its
Taixing branch. "I'm not aware of any investigation involving a
glycerin factory."

     Besides, Huang Tong, an investigator in that office, said, "We
rarely get involved in products that are sold for export."

     Wan Qigang, the legal representative for the Taixing Glycerine
Factory, said in an interview late last year that the authorities had
not questioned him about the Panama poisoning, and that his company
made only industrial-grade glycerin.

     "I can tell you for certain that we have no connection with
Panama or Spain," Mr. Wan said.

     But in recent months, the Glycerine Factory has advertised 99.5
percent pure glycerin on the Internet.

     Mr. Wan recently declined to answer any more questions. "If you
come here as a guest, I will welcome you," Mr. Wan said. "But if you
come again wanting to talk about this matter, I will make a telephone
call."

     A local government official said Mr. Wan was told not to grant
interviews.

     A five-minute walk away, another manufacturer, the Taixing White
Oil Factory, also advertises medical glycerin on the Internet, yet
it, too, has no authorization to make it. The company's Web site says
its products "have been exported to America, Australia and Italy."

     Ding Xiang, who represents the White Oil Factory, denied that his
company made pharmaceutical-grade glycerin, but he said chemical
trading companies in Beijing often called, asking for it.

     "They want us to mark the barrels glycerin," Mr. Ding said in
late December. "I tell them we cannot do that."

     Mr. Ding said he stopped answering calls from Beijing. "If this
stuff is taken overseas and improperly used...." He did not complete
the thought.

     In chemical country, product names are not always what they seem.

     "The only two factories in Taixing that make glycerin don't even
make glycerin," said Jiang Peng, who oversees inspections and
investigations in the Taixing branch of the State Food and Drug
Administration. "It is a different product."

     All in a Name

     One lingering mystery involves the name of the product made by
the Taixing Glycerine Factory. The factory had called its syrup "TD"
glycerin. The letters TD were in virtually all the shipping
documents. What did TD mean?

     Spanish medical authorities concluded that it stood for a
manufacturing process. Chinese inspectors thought it was the
manufacturer's secret formula.

     But Yuan Kailin, a former salesman for the factory , said he knew
what the TD meant because a friend and former manager of the factory,
Ding Yuming, had once told him. TD stood for the Chinese word "tidai"
(pronounced tee-die), said Mr. Yuan, who left his job in 1998 and
still lives about a mile from the factory.

     In Chinese, tidai means substitute. A clue that might have
revealed the poison, the counterfeit product, was hiding in plain
sight.

     It was in the product name.

Welcome To The New Police State

In the old days in The United States of America, a journalist didn't
have to get permission to conduct an interview in a public place. But
this is a new America, a place where armed security agents watch your
every move and require their permission to exercise what used to be a
first amendment right.

I've been a television news reporter for 33 years. I first began
covering news when Richard Nixon was about to resign. I've gone to
airports many times to film-yes we used to use film- and lately to
video-tape and interview famous and infamous people getting on and
getting off airplanes. I've been around a while and I've covered a
lot of stories at airports. Things have changed.

I want to tell you what happened to me today (May 17, 2007) at
Honolulu International Airport. I was assigned to meet and interview
Nainoa Thompson, navigator of the Polynesian Voyaging Canoe Hokule'a.
He and his crew were departing for Japan to sail their Hawaiian canoe
on the final leg of an historic voyage. It was arranged for our crew
to meet them on the sidewalk outside the check-in area. All I needed
was a quick couple of sound bites with Nainoa and two of the young
crew members who were leaving to fulfill a cultural mission of
goodwill and Aloha.

I arrived with a news photographer at the Honolulu Airport and we
paid to park in the parking garage. We walked to the public sidewalk
in front of the check-in area where we met Nainoa and the young
crewmembers. We turned on the camera and began talking with them.

This is something I have done at least a hundred times over the past
33 years. In the USA a reporter used to be able to go to any public
place and interview someone without being rousted by authorities.

This was not a restricted area. We did not attempt to board an
airplane, or walk past the security gate, or get out on to a runway.
We were not taping near any TSA checkpoint. We were out on the
sidewalk at a public facility.

While I was interviewing an 18-year old Hawaiian, asking how he felt
about taking a voyage on a Hawaiian canoe several uniformed security
agents walked up and stopped the interview. They insisted that we
cease videotaping. They demanded to know what we were doing, who
authorized us to be there, and whether we had permission.

EXCUSE ME???

In the United States of America that I grew up in a reporter was
allowed to interview anyone in any public place, about anything, at
any time, without requesting or having to be granted permission by
unformed goons. Pardon me- I mean low wage security guards.

I snapped, and perhaps I should apologize to these poor rent-a-cops.
I did not say it to their faces, but as I turned to go to the airport
security office I did mutter an obscenity: "This is the f&#^ing
United States. You don't need permission to do an interview in a
public place. This is not supposed to be a goddamned fascist state!"

They heard me. Now I was asking for trouble. They called for backups.
Several more armed security guards surrounded my cameraman. He told
them, "It's not big deal; we're just trying to interview some people
about sailing on the Hokule'a."

I went to the security office and got "permission" from airport
authorities to do something that is supposed to be guaranteed under
our (former) Constitution.

It saddens me to see America slipping into a state that allows armed
security guards to demand "authorization" for something that used to
be taken for granted. I never before had to get "permission"
from "authorities" to talk to someone in a public place. I brought
this up in the security office when they were so
graciously "granting" me permission to resume my interview. A
security guard in front of a bank of television surveillance monitors
told me, "Things are different after 911."

I wonder- what does a well known television reporter interviewing
young Hawaiian kids in a public place about sailing on a canoe have
to do with 911? How is this a threat?

And the saddest thing for me is this- young people growing up today
will simply submit. They won't even remember a time when a reporter-
or any citizen- could go to an airport and talk to someone without
having to get permission from authorities.

personal life." "He is corrupt to his core," U.S. Attorney Charles
Atchley wrote in his brief of Austin. "This case represents an almost
incomprehensible breach of the public trust," Atchley wrote in the
brief. Austin was caught on video receiving cash from a victim who
wore a wire after going to the FBI and reporting Austin's "stress-
induced" behavior. The judge certainly doesn't sound like a man
tortured by his actions when he brags to the victim about the
kickbacks as well as a sexual harassment case he sat on: "I've pulled
every fucking thing in the book," he was recorded saying. "I've
granted girls divorces in the morning and fucked them that afternoon."

Thomas Alva Austin, a Kingston lawyer and former judge, was summarily
suspended from the practice of law by the Tennessee Supreme Court on
Oct. 6 after pleading guilty to the serious crime of extortion. He
was sentenced to 42 months in prison on Sept. 7. In addition to

referred to the Board of Professional Responsibility for a

State suspends Roane Co. judge, following charges

January 24, 2006

KINGSTON TENN (WATE) -- The state has placed a Roane County judge on
an interim suspension after he was charged with extortion and money
laundering.

Judge Thomas Alva Austin, 57, faces a total of eight federal counts:
seven charges of extortion and one count of money laundering.

He's suspended from all judicial duties as long as his felony charges
are pending, or unless the state orders otherwise.

"Under the circumstances, the members of the Court of the Judiciary
agreed that it was necessary to act as quickly as possible to suspend
Judge Austin," Presiding Judge Steven Stafford says in a press
release.

The release also says the court is statutorily authorized to suspend
a judge "upon the filing of an indictment, presentment or information
charging a judge with a felony under the law of any state or under
federal law."

Under state law, Austin's suspension is with pay.

Austin is alleged to have taken more than $13,500 in cash and
property, including a laptop computer, as bribes between June and
December 2005, along with attempting to cover his tracks.

Austin is accused of making transactions with services in Roane
County, including two driving schools and Roane County Probation
Services Inc.

He was arraigned in federal court in Knoxville Monday after his
arrest.

FBI agents and U.S. marshals arrested Austin Monday morning as he
arrived for work at the Roane County Courthouse.

The state Court of the Judiciary receives complaints against judges
and is authorized by state law to impose a range of sanctions,
including suspensions, or recommend removal from office when
appropriate.

Austin is scheduled for trial on March 29 in U.S. district court in
Knoxville. He also may face additional sanctions by the Court of the
Judiciary for violating the Tennessee Code of Judicial Conduct.

A former Roane County judge captured on videotape taking thousands of
dollars in kickbacks is blaming his estranged wife's affair with a
woman for his foray into public corruption.

Thomas Alva Austin, 58, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to
forcing kickbacks from men he handpicked to head up a traffic school
and probation office, contends it was his second wife's fling with a
woman that drove him over the legal edge.

"In early 2005, while Mr. Austin and his second wife were in marital
counseling, she admitted her year-long involvement in an extramarital
lesbian relationship," defense attorney Gregory P. Isaacs wrote on
behalf of the former Roane County General Sessions Court judge.

"Mr. Austin was quite distraught, sought medical help for depression
and was prescribed anti-depressants," Isaacs wrote. "Additionally, he
began drinking heavily despite earlier struggles with alcohol. All of
the charges that are included in this indictment occurred after this
difficult and tumultuous period in Mr. Austin's personal life."

Austin faces a penalty range of 37 to 46 months in a federal prison
when U.S. District Judge Thomas Phillips decides his fate at a Sept.
7 sentencing hearing. As a run-up to that hearing, Isaacs and
Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Atchley have filed dueling sentencing
memorandums trying to sway Phillips toward their respective positions.

Isaacs paints Austin's admitted extortion as a temporary lapse of
judgment in an otherwise stellar career of public service. Atchley
counters that a probe headed up by FBI Agent Robert Gibson shows that
Austin has been wielding his power to line his own pockets for as
long as a decade.

Included in Isaacs' sentencing package are a slew of letters from
Roane County citizens, attorneys and other Tennessee residents who
commend the former judge for his public service.

Also included are letters from Austin's four children, the oldest of
whom writes, "My younger brother will have to live with his mother
and her new girlfriend if my dad has to go away."

Isaacs sets out in his memorandum Austin's background, beginning with
his birth in Chattanooga to a hard working but "closet alcoholic"
father and "strong Christian mother."

The Austins moved to Roane County when Thomas Austin and his brother
were still young children. The pair's parents "opened Austin's IGA, a
business that thrived in Roane County for 54 years," Isaacs
wrote. "Thomas Austin was essentially raised in his parents' grocery
store, working there throughout high school and during his breaks
from college."

Austin was first appointed to the Roane Sessions Court bench in 1978
by then-Gov. Ray Blanton, who would himself wind up imprisoned for
corruption.

"Merely 30-years-old, Mr. Austin began a very long and busy career on
the bench," Isaacs wrote. "Mr. Austin was re-elected to the court in
Roane County four times. He ultimately presided over six courts. For
20 years, Mr. Austin was the only general sessions judge in Roane
County. In his judicial capacity, his workload was horrendous."

Isaacs, who represents Austin along with defense attorney Jerrold L.
Becker, does not directly address the crimes to which Austin has
pleaded guilty nor the allegations of long-standing corruption
contained in a search warrant affidavit drafted by Gibson before
Austin's arrest in January.

Austin has admitted taking roughly $14,000 in kickbacks in a six-
month period in 2005. He was accused of using his position as judge
to extort a portion of proceeds from two driving schools in Roane
County and a private probation firm.

The judge had essentially handpicked the directors of the traffic
schools, where Austin also sent driving scofflaws for remedial
instruction at $50 a pop, and the probation office.

Gibson alleged in an affidavit that Austin had been extorting
kickbacks for a decade and collected as much as $100,000. The
document also included allegations that Austin regularly smoked
marijuana - at least once while en route to a judicial conference.

Isaacs, on the other hand, described Austin as a man who had served
honorably for most of his career, despite his guilty plea to
corruption.

"For 28 years, Mr. Austin served his community as a judge, a leader
and a productive citizen," Isaacs wrote. "At no time was Mr. Austin
charged with any crime or with judicial impropriety prior to the
current indictment, and the current charges did not compromise his
judicial integrity."

I was told by Sen. Gordon Smith's office this morning that Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid wants a vote on the federal hate crimes

Asheville NC – A couple who said they were protesting the state of the country by flying the U.S. flag upside down with signs pinned to it found themselves in jail following a scuffle with a deputy Wednesday morning.

Mark and Deborah Kuhn were arrested on two counts of assault on a government employee, resisting arrest and a rarely used charge, desecrating an American flag, all misdemeanors. The Kuhns were released from custody Wednesday afternoon.

"This is surreal," Deborah Kuhn, 52, said moments after her son Mark Stidham paid $1,500 bond to get the couple out of jail.

Arrest reports show Buncombe County Sheriff's deputy Brian Scarborough went to the Kuhns' home on 68 Brevard Road about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday to investigate a complaint of an American flag on display after being desecrated.

State law prohibits anyone from knowingly mutilating, defiling, defacing or trampling the U.S. or North Carolina flags. Lt. Randy Sorrells of the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said the Kuhns desecrated the flag by pinning signs to it, not by flying it upside down.

An upside-down flag typically is flown as a distress signal. The Kuhns said they flew it this way not out of disrespect but to symbolize the state of the country.

Deborah Kuhn said the signs pinned to the flag included an explanation on the meaning of an upside-down flag and asked to "help our country." One of the signs was a photo of President Bush with "Out Now" written on it, they said.

The couple flew the flag for about a week before Wednesday.

Police visits

Deborah Kuhn said an Asheville police officer stopped by last week to make sure the couple was OK, after recognizing the upside-down flag as a distress signal.

Asheville police calls for service records show an officer did go to the house July 18 after a complaint about the upside-down flag. The officer did not issue a citation or file a report.

A couple of days later, Deborah Kuhn said a man dressed in fatigues came to the door to "harass my husband" about the flag. Someone also took photos of the flag, she said.

Sorrells said a resident approached Scarborough while he was on duty and alerted him to the flag. Sorrells said he did not know where the person approached Scarborough or what the deputy was doing.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Scarborough went to the Kuhns' home and gave Mark Kuhn a copy of the flag desecration statute. Scarborough told the Kuhns the flag was being displayed illegally.

Although the Kuhns live within the Asheville city limits, Sorrells said the complaint was made to a deputy.

"We have jurisdiction throughout the whole county of Buncombe," Sorrells said. "We have a citizen that complains to us about a violation of law, we're bound by oath to act on it."

Scarborough told Mark Kuhn he was going to be issued a citation and asked for identification. Kuhn refused, slammed the door on the deputy's hand, breaking the glass pane out of the door and cutting Scarborough's hand, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deborah Kuhn said they removed the flag from their front porch after Scarborough threatened to cite them, but they objected to showing Scarborough their IDs, which he needed to write the tickets. Scarborough then broke into their house and came after them, they said.

"He tried to keep us from closing the door, but we managed to get it closed," Deborah Kuhn said. "We locked the door and he broke the glass to our front door and proceeded to assault my husband, saying, 'You're under arrest.'"

The Sheriff's Office said a struggle ensued when Scarborough followed Kuhn back into the house. At that time, Deborah Kuhn also struck Scarborough in the face, authorities said in arrest reports.

Scarborough called for backup and five squad cars responded, Sorrells said.

Deborah Kuhn said she called 911 and ran into the street screaming for help.

Mark Kuhn said he did not attack Scarborough.

"He came after me, and I fought him back," Kuhn, 43, said. "After I got out of his hold, I ran outside."

Rarely enforced

Sorrells said this is the first time he has seen the flag-desecration law enforced. He said it's a difficult decision for an officer to weigh a resident's right to free speech against another's complaint of a law violation.

"I think the officer did the appropriate thing by stating his intention to simply issue a citation and let it be worked out in court," Sorrells said. "If Mr. Kuhn had simply complied with that request for identification and accepted the citation, we would have all gone about our way, and it could have been worked out in court. Once he assaulted the officer, it escalated very quickly."

Sorrells said Scarborough suffered some scrapes and cuts to his hand and returned to duty later Wednesday. A message left for Scarborough at the Sheriff's Office was not immediately returned.

Mark Kuhn, who said he had flown his flag upside down before without any problems, said he plans to fight the charges. The Kuhns each face a maximum 420 days in jail if convicted on all of the charges.

"We are going to do our best to get a civil liberties lawyer from the ACLU," Kuhn said.

"We are going to take this big time. Officer Scarborough is not going to get away with this."

The Kuhns said the Sheriff's Office kept their flag. Sorrells said he had no record of that.

Tucson, AZ - Apparently most news-media people - and possibly most
other Americans (especially those who never watched or listened to
the original murder trial) - are totally convinced O.J. Simpson WAS
guilty of murdering his wife and wrongly "escaped" justice. Angrily,
they now demand "retribution" and want Simpson punished (perhaps with
Life in prison) for the overblown fiasco in Las Vegas. For the
reasons listed below, I suggest the "hang O.J." majority may be
mistaken. In June of 2,000 I Emailed the following to several hundred
establishment and alternative media people, with information about
the OJ Simpson trial that most of them seemed ignorant about. (Only a
few even acknowledged the Email.) Please read it and judge for
yourself...

* Chicago private investigator Sherman Skolnick publicly contended
that members of the narcotics-distributing Japanese Mafia, the
YAKUZA - or - competing Mexican Herrera mob, slaughtered drug-dealing
Nicole and Ron... Skolnick further claimed the murder was filmed by
the DEA - and also watched by O.J.'s own detectives. None attempted
to stop the murders. According to Skolnick, to cover up the role of
the narcotics gangs, the crooked L.A. police framed Simpson...

Further below in this Email, read Skolnick's essay about the above as
presented years back on Chicago Public Access TV. I think you will
also be amazed to read Skolnick's allegation that some giant American
banks are (or were then) mostly owned by the Japanese Yakuza mafia;
Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

famous, paraplegic Chicago private investigator whose earlier
revelations about a bunch of corrupt Illinois Judges - including

* At the O.J. murder trial, defense lawyer Lee Bailey's questioning
of the two original investigating detectives (not Furman) demolished
the prosecution's case against O.J. in the very first days of trial
testimony! The detectives' testimony was never again mentioned by the
media (or even by showy, but inept defense lawyer Johnny Cochran)...
but it was REMEMBERED by the Jurors in the first trial.


On a single later network TV interview, several of the jurors said
the early testimony (following) convinced the entire jury to vote
O.J. innocent. Their TV interview comments were also ignored and not
further repeated by the rest of the media.


(My wife and I watched on TV or listened on radio to the ENTIRE O.J.
murder trial from the first day.)

But FIRST, recall the Prosecution's scenario... The waiting, but
impatient (nearsighted) chauffeur, testified he saw a dark figure
(obviously the panicked, blood spattered O.J. rushing from the
murders) going in the front door of his house. In his upstairs
bedroom O.J. washed off the evidence, stuffed his bloody clothes in a
bag and rushed down to be driven off to the airport. A
little "problem" there... The prosecution skipped over the fact that
in what amounted to only a relatively few minutes, O.J came out of
his house showered, spic and span, carrying some of his bags. And
other of his bags were ALREADY sitting outside the house.

In early questioning of the 2 main detectives, F. Lee Bailey got them
to admit some incredible things!

Following is THE testimony the jurors remembered that led them to
find O.J. innocent....

* Detective Lange admitted to F. Lee Bailey, they could not find a
trace of blood OR dirt on the white (or light covered), stairs or on
the walls leading to O.J.'s upstairs bedroom.... OR on the white
bedroom carpet OR in the bathroom. (The single dark sock with his
blood spot went strangely "unnoticed" until days later.)

* The same detective then testified that they took apart ALL the
plumbing in the bathroom but could not find one drop or flake of
blood in the pipes! The media people present heard this but never
later repeated that testimony!

Influential Radio Talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and G. Gordon Liddy
DIDN'T hear it. They had decided Simpson was guilty BEFORE the trial
began (and pronounced him guilty to their trusting listeners). But my
wife and I heard it. And the Jurors heard it. And the Jurors
remembered!

Is O.J. one of the world's greatest magicians?...

In faxes to (pompous) Rush and Liddy during the O.J. trial, I
repeated the detectives' testimony. And I also suggested to them that
O.J. must be one the world's greatest magician-murderers.... O.J.
LEVITATED up the stairs into his bedroom... disintegrated his bloody
clothes... bathed and dried in Ethereal water that disappeared.


Caused clean clothes to form around his body... all in just a few
minutes of entering the house. Then (still levitated) he floated down
the stairs to his front door. BUT the big dummy made ONE MISTAKE! He
dropped one sock stained with a drop of his blood, on the bedroom
floor!

And about Shapiro and the bloody Glove(s) that "didn't fit."
Something Shapiro told to G. Gordon Liddy later is worth
mentioning...

* Long after the first trial. SHAPIRO (no friend of O.J. Remember he
suggested O.J. confess in a plea bargain) told Liddy during a radio
interview that I heard, that he (Shapiro) had tried on the murder
glove(s) the night before... He found them snug. Shapiro told Liddy
that he went to see O.J. the next day and asked O.J. to put his hand
up against Shapiro's hand.

When Shapiro saw how HUGE O.J.'s hand was against his own... Shapiro
told O.J.: "TRY ON THE GLOVES!" (He did in court. Didn't fit.)

Certainly Liddy and Shapiro should remember that program. I certainly
do! (Shapiro has also since died.)

Harsh realities need to be understood. Yet, the mainstream press
seldom tells us. Just as if someone out there is saying, "Shut your
mouth!"

A case in point is the O.J. Simpson Affair.

HARSH REALITY #1 -- SHUT YOUR MOUTH: To be a major sports star, do
you have to get along well with criminal interests?

Does that make you a mafia crony, or just promoting your career in
the face of the real world? Skeptics need to examine the federal case
of Norby Walters and Lloyd Bloom. The court trial, 1988-89, showed
that known gangsters seemed to control sports agents who, in turn,
controlled sports stars. (One of the mafia-dominated sports agents
was later murdered.) Cynics point to the fact that a higher court
judge, reportedly pals himself with mafioso, overturned the
convictions of the sports agents charged with corruption and threats.

The major news organs are heavily into sports promoting. Some, like
the Chicago Tribune, own a baseball team (The Cubs). The TV networks
reportedly find it necessary to be cronies of criminal interests in
promoting sports events. It is called avoiding financial hang-ups.

So if we conclude that O.J. Simpson, from early in his career, found
it necessary to be a gangster pal, should we be sympathetic? Probably
so. As a former sports hero, O.J. was sponsored by Hertz, the car
rental firm. Going back into their history, one finds that they
reportedly were no angels. Some savvy folks whisper that Hertz, in
the past if not also the present, were reportedly close to criminals.

And O.J. reportedly was a sizeable owner in a nationwide storage firm
reportedly started by an intelligence agent who was also close to
foreign and domestic gangsters. (The founder was sent to prison for
massive S&L fraud in California.)

The list of O.J.'s reported criminal links goes on and on.

O.J. reportedly owned several fast food stores. Sounds innocent
enough. As part of the bitter divorce, ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson
got control of some of those businesses. And into the picture were
brought corrupt police brass as secret owners/operators. The places
were reportedly turned into dope distribution centers, with the huge
cash flow disguised as proceeds from business.

Remember: food stores, restaurants, and other large receivers of
cash, are exempt from U.S. Treasury regulations requiring a report on
where more than ten thousand dollars comes from, if deposited with a
financial entity like a bank.

And the funds from the stores, as well as from some of the Hertz
franchises she controlled, were washed through California banks --
most of which are owned by the Japanese, and a principal portion
being the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza.

HARSH REALITY #2 -- SHUT YOUR MOUTH: Two major dope gangs distribute
dope in California, and wash the loot through businesses and banks.

Gang #1 are the Herrera dope gang of Mexico, tight with the American
CIA. For political survival, state and federal prosecutors and law
enforcement officials know it is forbidden to start up with the
Herreras. Safer to grab some street corner doper-nobody. To promote
so-called "national security," the mainstream press knows it is
generally forbidden to publicize spy agency confederates and CIA's
dirty tricks.

Dope gang #2 are the Yakuza who, like the Herreras, are tight as well
with the CIA. (See the book, "Yakuza" by David E. Kaplan and Alec
Dubro.)

Prior to the double murders, O.J. reportedly told business associates
that his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman, and their
confederates, were dealing dope. O.J. reportedly said he told Nicole
and Ron to stop it, or he would stop it, because the dope dealing was
endangering his family and his other businesses. (Was that a threat
by O.J.? Stop it? How?)

To keep track of this dope dealing, and because of his jealousy of
his ex-wife Nicole, O.J. had detectives tracking Nicole (also
tracking Ron?).

THE REPORTED SCENE ON THE NIGHT OF THE DOUBLE MURDERS: SHUT YOUR
MOUTH! --

An undercover federal drug enforcement team, equipped with see-in-the-
dark video, were tracking Ron. From past surveillance, they firmly
believed he was part of a widespread homosexual dope gang, fronting
for the Yakuza -- distributing the stuff *on* *credit* to fancy
people, celebrities and such, contacted through waiters (like Ron) in
fancy eating places like the Mezzaluna Restaurant where Ron worked.
Ron's reputed sidekick and fellow waiter was MICHAEL NIGG. (Was Nigg
also Ron's room-mate, or did Nigg have a girl friend as a "beard?")

THE PHONE CALL: SHUT YOUR MOUTH! --

On the night of the double horror, Nicole reportedly received a phone
call from a friend, pleading that ex-husband O.J. has to come up,
pronto, with several hundred thousand dollars -- or else -- to make
good a dope debt.

THE BUTCHER JOB: SHUT YOUR MOUTH! --


Both the narcs and O.J.'s detectives reportedly witnessed Nicole and
Ron cut up, Samurai-style, by a dope hit team. The video reportedly
shows them as 3 or 4 hispanics or orientals. If the trial evidence is
true, was that O.J.'s shoe-print at the murder scene, *after-the-
fact*, alerted by his detectives reportedly having witnessed the
bloodbath?

Naive people ask: Why didn't the narcs and/or the detectives stop the
murders? For one thing, the narcs know their top dogs at the U.S.
Drug Enforcement Administration are highly corrupt, and have given
the Herreras and other major dope traffickers a pass. (See the
book, "The Underground Empire," by James Mills.)

Also, both teams knew better than to interfere with the bloody turf
wars between the Herreras and the Yakuza in California.

Insofar as the L.A. police later planted "evidence" implicating O.J.,
was this a type of police "logic"? "Well, O.J. is in with criminals
anyway, so let's sink him one way or another."

THE ROLE OF THE JUDGE AND HIS WIFE: SHUT YOUR MOUTH! --

O.J. trial judge Lance Ito was reportedly in a position to know what
the double murders were really all about. His wife, L.A. Police
Captain Margaret York, has been in charge of investigating police
department corruption. Captain York reportedly knew of the other
police brass as the corrupt secret owners/operators of the fast food
sites, formerly O.J.'s businesses (Did O.J. still retain an
interest?).

Captain York reportedly also was the liaison to DEA and examined the
files and records of the undercover narc team as well as the video.

The District Attorney was also in a position to know. O.J. defense
team member, lawyer Robert Shapiro, is reportedly close with known
major drug traffickers. Are they just "clients"? Did defense attorney
Johnnie Cochran know? Judge Ito blocked Cochran from trying to bring
up matters about a dope hit team or similar items.

SHUT YOUR MOUTH! OR YOU ARE DEAD --

Others who apparently found out inside details and the terrible
secrets of the O.J. Simpson Affair apparently had to be snuffed out.

VICTIM #1: Judge Ito's courtroom bailiff in the O.J. case, Antranik
Geuvjehizian, murdered in July, 1995. A TV network program in a
notice in various TV guides, called it by the name of the
series, "Unsolved Mysteries." But, it did not go on the air as
scheduled for Friday, October 27, 1995. So the program has its own
unsolved mystery.

VICTIM #2: Robin Clark, covering the trial for the Philadelphia
Inquirer, a somewhat more independent and outspoken paper -- he
apparently was murdered by having his car shoved into on-coming
traffic.

VICTIM #3: His son disappeared during the trial. Was he kidnapped?
The police did not accept the story when CBS reporter at the trial
Dominic Dunne's son returned.

VICTIM #4: In September, 1995, about 3 weeks before the verdict by
the jury, Ron Goldman's fellow waiter and reputed dope gang member,
Michael Nigg, was murdered by assassins who shot him in the head.

Did any of these victims have inside data about the Mark Fuhrman
details -- a bigoted L.A. detective who apparently planted "evidence"
incriminating O.J.? The Fuhrman details -- him hating blacks and
such -- was that intentionally put into the case by *both* *sides*?
Defendants have been known to pay for prosecutors to corruptly
sabotage the prosecution of a defendant, to save a defendant from
jail. In law, errors in the trial that could on appeal of a guilty
verdict invalidate that verdict, are called "reversible errors."
Sometimes they are just accidental. Sometimes, they are corruptly
arranged. Were the Mark Fuhrman bigot-revealing tapes arranged ahead
of the time -- known ahead of time -- so that revealing that would
throw out later a guilty verdict against O.J.?

In the criminal defense of O.J., supervising those detectives
(different bunch than those reportedly at the murder scene) was a
former New York cop, long reportedly on the mafia payroll. He was
reportedly a silent partner in mafia gay bars and gay disco bars
jointly with Mattie "The Horse" Ianello, now a jail bird.

Why was that ex-cop brought in to head the detectives of the defense
team? Reportedly because he is an expert on gay violence and on
*dope* *hit* *teams*. So that was apparently early-on known or
suspected of what the double murders were all about.

And this reputed mafia-friendly ex-cop reportedly dug very, very deep
into the dope business. And he came up apparently with a link to the
California turf dope wars between the Herreras and the Yakuza, linked
to the CIA-dope and guns operation throughout the southern states,
starting in the 1980s. Among the links was to the CIA-dope brought in
through the strange airport at Mena, Arkansas, arranged by Ollie
North and George Bush. Clinton claims now that as governor he was
told by the CIA to mind his own business, that it was one of their
covert operations and he was not to interfere.

So, if the public now demands that the secret DEA records and video
of the double murders be released -- well, the highly corrupt DEA
bosses are inclined to withstand the pressure. And so also opposing
public disclosure would be the Clinton White House. The DEA and
Clinton are subject to blackmail, as a result of the digging
reportedly by the ex-cop from New York.

Some at DEA reportedly claim that they would like to ask Ron's
father, Fred Goldman, if he knew about his son's dope dealing. But
Fred Goldman has mobilized public opinion to his favor and may be
immune from hard questions like that.

This all may be the biggest or one of the biggest scandals of the
20th century -- the apparatus of state and federal government
covering up a double murder.

(Note: Banks reportedly washing the Yakuza dope loot include
California-headquartered Bank of America and Wells Fargo Bank, major
owner of Household International and Household Bank. The former O.J.-
owned businesses reportedly dope dealing with the help of Nicole
reportedly used these banks to launder the loot. Bank of America and
Wells Fargo are principally owned reputedly by the Yakuza.)

The Department of Veterans Affairs, May 2007, Gulf War Veterans
Information System reports the following:

Total U.S. Military Gulf War Deaths: 73,846
– Deaths amongst Deployed: 17,847
– Deaths amongst Non-Deployed: 55,999

Total "Undiagnosed Illness" (UDX) claims: 14,874
Total number of disability claims filed: 1,620,906
- Disability Claims amongst Deployed: 407,911
- Disability Claims amongst Non-Deployed: 1,212,995

Percentage of combat troops that filed Disability Claims 36%

NOTE: Soldiers, by nature, typically don't complain. In other words,
the real impact of those who are disabled from the US invasions in
Iraq, Afghanistan and other Nations, is not fully reflected in the
official Veterans Affairs numbers. When soldiers are sent to murder
women and children they tend to never be able to live normal lives
there after.

How come the government numbers of 3,777 as of 9/7/7 are so low? The
answer is simple, the government does not want the 73,000 dead to be
compared to the 55,000 U.S. soldiers killed in Vietnam Iraq =
Vietnam.

What the government is doing is only counting the soldiers
that die in action before they can get them into a helicopter or
ambulance. Any soldier who is shot but they get into a helicopter
before he dies is not counted.

73,000 dead amongst the U.S. soldiers for this scale operation using
weapons of mass destruction is not high - we expect the great
majority of U.S. soldiers who took part in the invasion of Iraq to
die of uranium poisoning, which can take decades to kill.

From a victors perspective, above any major war in history, The Gulf
War has taken the severest toll on soldiers.

More than 1,820 tons of radio active nuclear waste uranium were
exploded into Iraq alone in the form of armor piercing rounds and
bunker busters, representing the worlds worst man made ecological
disaster ever. 64 kg of uranium were used in the Hiroshima bomb. The
U.S. Iraq Nuclear Holocaust represents far more than fourteen
thousand Hiroshima's. The nuclear waste the U.S. has exploded into
the Middle East will continue killing for billions of years and can
wipe out more than a third of life on earth. Gulf War Veterans who
have ingested the uranium will continue to die off over a number of
years.

So far more than one million people have been slaughtered in the
illegal invasion of Iraqi by the U.S. Birth defects are up 600% in
