FYI, I am planning on showing episode 4x13 at CONvergence on
Saturday night, July 5th in Plaza 1 (Programming A/V room) at 9:15
PM (it may actually start closer to 9:25 PM). This is not an
official convention programming item (it's guerrilla programming,
off the grid).
The 9:15/9:25 time jives with the Masquerade getting done, the Mega-
Panel (this year's big 'opposite masquerade event') finishing, and
hopefully we'll wrap up before 10:30 when a bunch of other events
will start (I'm sure 4x13 will run a little long as well).
Please keep a lid on this - we don't want the entire convention
showing up trying to fit into that room.
I'm sure the TARDIS Tea Society will also be showing the episode at
some point during the weekend as well.
Thanks,
Matt
PS, If you are attending the con, keep an eye out for all the Doctor
Who related programming going on this year. We have a "Doctor Who
by Decade" master-class panel each day, as well as panels on Series
4, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, and Cool Britannia (other UK
shows like Life on Mars, Jekyll, etc.)
Hi all.
I think someone at the last meeting said they were hosting the TARDIS
Tea Party at Convergence, but I can't remember who it was now. If
you are him, could you give me an email? I have something you might
find useful for the party.

Hey Guys,
I just noticed that deepdiscount.com is having one of their 20% off
sales (I used the code PRICESEARCH, I'm sure there are others), so I
convinced my wife that we should get the Beneath the Surface boxset
for $31.91.

I believe we're due for a dinner on Thursday next week, and I think
I'll be able to make it this time. Where will it be people?

Ok. I"m not that new of a member. I think I have been one for 8 months
or so.
I have always been a fan, but have recently had a new interest. Since
the new stuff is comming out I feel like I've fallen behind.
I've been looking for friends in the area.. so if anybody wants to be
all geeky and chill let me know.
Also.. Is the meet up still going? I guess I should try to go to that
when I can.

Just a reminder that the May Tavern is this Thursday (the 1st), and for
one time only will be at the Red Dragon Chinese restaurant in Uptown.
There is a web site here with map and you can get directions:

We'll meet after 5 pm, hope to see everyone there.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder that Tavern is the 1st Thursday of each month,
still currently at Applebee's in Block E, downtown Minneapolis. We
start to gather from 5pm on.
It's been kind of bare the past couple of months, but now that the snow
is melting hopefully people will be out to talk about the new series,
new DVDs, new books, CDs, magazines, etc. Hope to see a few more faces
in the upcoming months.
Cheers,
Robert........
Okay, I have to send this link out in case someone here hasn't seen this.

I've shared a document with you called "Doctor Who - Books List":
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dd9thxh2_44gn4dkxgx&invite=ckrmgm9 It's
not an attachment -- it's stored online at Google Docs. To open this
document, just click the link above. --- I have a large collection of
Doctor Who books, and have lent them to many friends and would also
like to do the same locally. But only on MNDW. It's simple. Send me an
e-mail of what book(s) you want [ limited to 2 at a time] and I will
put them on my porch "library" so you can pick them up. I will e-mail
you any particular details. Bring them back when done - but please not
for years on end.

Today's snow seems to have wimped out a bit, so I'll be down as
quickly as I can. (I'm not off work until 515 pm though.)
I may have a guest with me...
Steve, if you can't make it, you'll have to email me and tell me what
the deal with the Davros box set is. ;)
- Michael
Of course, after I've drawn everyone's attention to our regularly
scheduled meet-up, they go and put snow in the forecast for tomorrow
afternoon. Owing to my lengthy commute, I think that if the snow
does come to pass, I will have to miss the meet-up. If it's clear
though, I'll still be there.

Hi all -
I'm so sorry I didn't post this sooner, and that I missed your
meeting earlier this month. I've been down with a Guinness book
contender of illnesses, and am just now recovering - just as Mike
goes down with it.
In any case today is Spooky Who, and it's the first concentrated new
Who time the meetup has had. Our viewing list is as follows:
the Empty Child, Tooth and Claw, and Blink.
Information about the meetup is here:
http://drwho.meetup.com/114/calendar/6365986/
We'll be at Merlin's Rest, 4 pm - 3601 Lake Street; there's parking
just off 36th, or you can take the 22 or 24 bus to get there.
You were great to hang with last month, and I look forward to seeing
you again!

Sent in my registration, haven't booked a room yet. Anybody want to
split room costs? Definitely staying Friday and Saturday nights,
probably Sunday night. Probably not Thursday night.
Let me know.

Hi--
I may be a minority but I actually liked the format and layout of the updated
Legend coffee table book. Then if he?becomes hooked, you can spend the extra
dough and get the About Time series.
Another option may be to pick up some of the individual Doctor books for a
different flavor.
I'd suggest Players and Grave Matter for the 6th Doctor
Human Nature and The Also People for the 7th Doctor
Alien Bodies, Tomorrow Windows?and Interference Book 1 and 2 for the 8th Doctor
Festival of Death for the 4th Doctor
Last of the Gadarene for the 3rd Doctor
Roundheads for the 2nd Doctor
The Plotters and the Witchhunters for the 1st Doctor.
I'm sorry but I haven't found a book I enjoyed for the 5th Doctor. (Unless you
count audios.)

Subject: [mndw] Book Suggestions?
Hi All, looking for some suggestions.
Recently acquired new boyfriend. Mr. Boyfriend is semi-Who fan; likes
the Eccelston/Tennant series, knows only T. Baker episodes of "Classic"
Who.
I would like to get him a book with an episode guide and maybe
something with an overview of the series. I was thinking of the
updated "Televison Companion" because I liked the original volume and
its synopses. I would advise him NOT to read the reviews/analyses
until he'd seen a story and could have his own opinion first.
I was also thinking of the updated "Legend" coffee table book. I don't
know much about that one, though. I do know many people were unhappy
with it; mostly due to the page layout.
Anybody have any other or better suggestions? Thanks, John
