Sorry for the late notice, so we'll just make this easy. This month we'll be
back at Old Chicago in Uptown. There is free parking available there. For
directions check out their site:

Robert..........
This month we thought we'd try outsomething back in St Paul, so...
We'll be a Tavern on Grand this Thursday:
Tavern On Grand
656 Grand Avenue
Saint Paul, MN 55105
http://tavernongrand.com/ for directions and menu. Hope to see everyone there.
Robert..........
I have gone to some of the "MN Doctor Who Meet-Up Groups" events at Merlin's
Rest in MPLS, but I would like a more active/social type of group. Hope that is
you guys! When is the next scheduled event for July or August? Thanks!
And here it is, the place voted for last month...
Psycho Suzie's Motor Lounge!!
For those of you unfamiliar, Psycho Suzie's is a Polynesian tiki bar. They are
well known for their pizza, but they also have sandwiches and appetizers. It's a
rather cool little spot so everyone thought we'd try it for one month. It's a
bit further from Downtown Minneapolis, but the good news is thee is plenty of
free parking both in their lot and on the street. You can find out more,
including directions, here:
http://www.psychosuzis.com/
We hope to see everyone this Thursday!
Cheers,
Robert.......
As discussed at the last Tav, we'll still be meeting this month although some
people may go to Convergeance early. We'll be back at Red Dragon in Uptown from
5pm this Thursday.
2116 Lyndale Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55405
Excellent. And I should be able to make it this time. :)

Hi all.
Today I dug out my old cassette recording of the Peter Davison
Question and Answer Session from the DWFCA Doctor Who Festival on May
23, 1986 at the old Prom Center in St. Paul, made digital copies, and
have uploaded them to youtube, and I thought some of you here might
like to listen to it. :)
Here's a link to part 1, and then you should be able to get to the
other 6 parts from that...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8PEh3zj24Q
btw, it's not me you hear doing the recording... it was my cousin and
his friend, and I copied their tape.

Thanks to everyone who responded to me personally, explaining why the show
will probably never make it onto DVD. I really appreciate the fast info!
I just watched it on YouTube. While it was very cool to see all the Doctors
plus many EastEnders characters, well, let's be honest, it was not very good
;) I guess 13 minutes to tell a story involving 4 Doctors and a bunch of
totally unrelated characters is bound to lead to a mess of a story line,
wrapped up in a 15 second resolution. Probably not a big deal to not be
able to own it :D
Thanks gang!
- Jason
BTW, if Steve Anderson is still on this list (I remember seeing you post a
long time ago), I wanted to say "hey". I knew you back in my Reform Party
days, and I still think of you whenever I see PRT in the news ;)
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Long time reader of this list, rare poster (I know it says I'm a new member,
I somehow got knocked off and just signed back up).
I've been meaning for years to come to an event, it just hasn't happened :(
Anyway, can someone tell me if the Dimensions in Time
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimensions_in_Time) Doctor Who/EastEnders
crossover is available on DVD? I'm guessing not, because my googling is not
turning up a way to get it.
I used to be a loyal EastEnders viewer. I just learned this week that Mike
Reid (Frank Butcher, my favorite character) died back in 2007. Spending
some time perusing his life's work led me to the discovery of a Doctor
Who/EastEnders show, which I never knew existed! Suffice it to say, I'd
like to see it!
Thanks for any help,
Jason

It's that time again.
Yes, time for Gallifrey... and to get ready we're going to throw a
birthday party for Jeff Elston at this month's Tav (on Thursday, you
know). Jeff thought it would be good to go back to Old Chicago in
Uptown as that worked so well last month. It's right on Hennepin and
there's free parking available. For directions check out their site:
http://oldchicago. com/DisplayLocat ionOC.php? FKLocationID= 10045
Hope to see everyone there.

Hi all,
As discussed at last month's Tavern, we decided to move the date back a
week to accomodate the New Year. So, Tav will be this Thursday, January
8th. We also decided to try something new and go to Uptown for the get
together. We'll be at Old Chicago Pasta & Pizza, right on Hennepin.
There is free parking available there. For directions check out their
site:

See everybody on Thursday so we can discuss the qualities of the new
Doctor!
Robert....
I would not vote for Red Dragon, as I don't care for Chinese food.
It doesn't matter to me this month, however, as between the pile of
DVDs I need to get through by the weekend and the VP debate tonight I
couldn't make it anyway.
Maybe next month?

We've had a couple other get togethers at Red Dragon and it works weel.
This is just south of Downtown Minneapolis, so easy to get to and
there's lots of street parking availble for free.
I'd vote for Red Dragon if others are up for it too.

What do people think of going to the Red Dragon? It's a little chilly
to sit outside this week.
Red Dragon is at Lyndale and 22nd in Minneapolis.

Hi all.
I see a first Thursday of a month rapidly approaching. Is there a
Tavern, and if so, where/when is it? Or did you perhaps delay it a
bit this time to avoid RNC shenanigans?

I'll be in Denver on Thursday at WorldCon, waiting for another Doctor
Who Hugo Award win on the Saturday night (hopefully by Paul Cornell
this time). I'll try to make the September meeting though.

It's that time again. We'll be back at Keiran's on Thursday if anyone
wants to stop in. Come on down and discuss Steven Moffatt and Series
Four, or anything else that comes to mind.
Robert
FYI, I am planning on showing episode 4x13 at CONvergence on
Saturday night, July 5th in Plaza 1 (Programming A/V room) at 9:15
PM (it may actually start closer to 9:25 PM). This is not an
official convention programming item (it's guerrilla programming,
off the grid).
The 9:15/9:25 time jives with the Masquerade getting done, the Mega-
Panel (this year's big 'opposite masquerade event') finishing, and
hopefully we'll wrap up before 10:30 when a bunch of other events
will start (I'm sure 4x13 will run a little long as well).
Please keep a lid on this - we don't want the entire convention
showing up trying to fit into that room.
I'm sure the TARDIS Tea Society will also be showing the episode at
some point during the weekend as well.
Thanks,
Matt
PS, If you are attending the con, keep an eye out for all the Doctor
Who related programming going on this year. We have a "Doctor Who
by Decade" master-class panel each day, as well as panels on Series
4, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, and Cool Britannia (other UK
shows like Life on Mars, Jekyll, etc.)
