Very sad news, Del Monroe has passsed away. From Del's website:
"It is with great sadness that we have just learned that Del Monroe,
Kowalski in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, passed away on Friday 5th
June 2009. Allan Hunt contacted us and said that a recent illness had
developed into leukemia. Del was a great friend of fans around the world
and represented all that was wonderful and good about Irwin Allen's
worlds. He will long be remembered as Kowalski and we send our very
deepest sympathies and love to his family and friends."

Howdy from Arizona,
What ever happened to the Jupiter 1? Please tell me that I am not the
first person to ask this question. Please.
If not - then well?

Hey, everybody!
What's your all time favorite LIS "Robot featured" episode?
...and least favorite??
For me, it's hard to pick a favorite. I love the Robot in just about
every episode - but - I guess "Wreck of the Robot" would be my
favorite. Great premise, nice cinematography (the night scene when the
aliens come aboard J2) and, of course, the Saticons - who were just too
cool!!!
Least favorite - Maybe "Deadliest of the Species" - just because the
Robot turns on the Robinsons (for a little while anyway)
...Now, how about YOUR favorite?
Hi All, I've posted some pictures of my latest addition, my B9 Robot!
He's incredible! Take a look by going to my main website,
LostinCyberSpace.net, and click on the image of me and my B9.
Happy New Year everyone! I've made a few changes to make the site work
a little better. Let me know if you have any issues.

Hey, gang!
Like I really need to tell you to buy this thing, but if you're unaware, there
is a limited
edition 40th anniversary "Lost in Space" CD out. Actually, it's a 2-CD set, and
it
contains a lot of music that has not been previously released.
I'd say two-thirds of the new material is from seasons 2 and 3. Some of it is
MAJOR
camp -- the space hippie and "Samson" themes from "Collision of Planets" and the
go-go theme from "The Promised Planet" -- but there's also a 16-minute suite
from
"Blast Off into Space", one of my musically favorite episodes, and a lot more.
There is also some already-released music on these CDs, but even a few of these
tracks have new passages in them that you have not heard before.
La-La Land Records has done a great job on this CD. I'd never heard of this
company
before, but their product is just as good as the GNP Crescendo releases.
I dare say that if you add this CD set to the previous releases, you will feel
that you've
got a large majority of the music that was ever written for "Lost in Space".
One thing you will NOT find: the music from the "whirlpool" sequence in "The
Hungry
Sea". For a long time I wondered why this was not included, and then by chance
I saw
some old movie in which the SAME music appeared. What that probably means is
that
when it was used in "Lost in Space", it was stock music, not stuff that was
written by
John Williams, et. al., specifically for LIS, and, more importantly, neither GNP
nor La-
La Land had the rights to it.
Anyway, you will find the CD at http://www.lalalandrecords.com/LostInSpace.html
,
but be aware it's a 5000-set limited edition. La-La Land's delivery was VERY
prompt,
so I have nothing but praise in that area either. And no, I don't have any
connection
to them; I'm just pleased enough to tell you that as a fan, you're crazy if you
don't get
these CDs.

A friend of mine sent this to me, thought the group would find it
interesting:
This is from a book I'm reading, Lew Hunter's Screenwriting 434:
Producer Irwin Allen (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Poseidon
Adventure, Towering Inferno) once said, "When I was a young man, I
wanted to shoot a movie called The Big Circus. I was summoned before
Harry Cohn, then head of Columbia Pictures. This mogul threw the
script at me as I sat in his spotlighted visitor's chair. He
said, 'This is a piece of crap, Allen.' I swallowed and said, 'What
seems to be the problem, Mr. Cohn?' Harry Cohn said, 'You know that
jerk who walks on that tightrope across Niagara Falls on page 19?' I
said, 'yes.' Cohn said, 'Put him on page 49, you got a deal.'"
This change may seem simple, but the one line suggestion will
dramatically affect the audience reaction. You see, we don't care if
the tightrope walker falls in the water on page 19! By page 49 we
will know him, care about him, and identify with him. We, the
audience, will by then be the man walking across Niagara Falls on
the tightrope.
Loved the story, and what a great point about characterization...
Here is an odd crossover for Lost in Space. I was watching a movie
on the Sci-Fi channel called "The Haunted" while working on my
computer and there is a scene where the children are watching TV and
it's an episode of Lost in Space! The odd thing is they had a voice
track saying Dr Smith, but it wasn't from the show. Nor was I able
to recognize the voice.

Greetings I thought I would invite various people to check out a

find it of interest to them. Since there doesn't seem to be any
group to represent these great shows I thought it would be nice if
there was. jerry zwecher
