Hi, all! Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that Janette
Anderson, who represents both Ben Murphy and Roger Davis for personal
appearances in the US, has posted a note on the ASJ Collections message
board that she's got some sort of an event with Ben Murphy in the works
in California on February 16-17, 2007. She hasn't provided any
details, just a "tease" but I wanted to be sure the people on this site
also got a "heads-up". More to come!
Hi,
My name is Sheri...I've been a fan of Alias Smith and Jones for like 20 years
now. And I've been lurking on the list for a couple of months now but when I
saw DVD's....I had to speak! Especially since I recently lost access to my
daily dose of ASJ. So anyways--how much for the complete set? And does it
include the Pilot and the 90 min special the one with Briscoe?

I'm posting this on behalf of Janette Anderson, who is the Personal Appearance
Manager for Ben Murphy in the U.S. She's working on event planning for 2007 and
had posted this on another site. I asked her permission to dial in this group,
too. I'm sure there's a lot of cross-over but wanted to be sure that those who
were only on this site would get the word!

I ordered a similar item in the uk and it turned out to be recorded
off the western channel, but I have to say it isn't bad, in fact it's
very good. Until I can get the proper release (If there is one???) I
am content with it. :-)

>Well lets see. He lives in Malibou and loves tennis with a
passion. He admitted that after Peter died (He never called
him 'Pete') he didn't respond as well as he should to Roger Davis.
He wishes he'd been kinder but the relationship he had with Pete
Duel was something special, something he has never found again. He
didn't really get on with horses and although he could ride, he
didn't carry it on! He made us laugh when he said that he used to
practise the quick draw but the director wanted to use a 'cut' shot
so he had to stop before the gun cleared the holster. He got
carried away and kept 'drawing' but ruining the shots! He realised
the impact the show had in the 70's but is very grateful and amazed
at the feeling the show still has in the UK. He has 2 dogs, is
divorced, no kids. He has a terrible memory for the episodes, didn't
have a favourite but enjoyed making them. Pete could learn lines
very quickly - he couldn't. He fed off Pete's energy, he never
liked to take the lead. He believes Pete's death was suicide,
quote ' You don't stick a loaded gun against your head for fun.'
He likes to talk politics and loves the A team, AB FAB, and The
Office.
He is hopefully coming back next year. I'll keep you posted!
Ah, Cindy, I'm so glad it helped:)

Welcome to the board, Sally! It's been rather quiet around here lately but I
was keeping up with Ben's adventures in England on a couple of other sites and
it sounds like everyone has had a wonderful time. I haven't had the pleasure of
meeting him, yet, but hope one day to get the chance. In the meantime, I'm
living vicariously through the stories of others. Thanks so much for sharing
yours!

Hi all! I am a new member and have loved AS&J since I was 9. I am
delighted there is a forum like this with like minded people.
I was fortunate enough to meet Ben Murphy at a special lunch in
Stratford yesterday and I still can't get the stupid grin off my
face! He is absolutely lovely. He is quite shy and doesn't court
publicity, preferring to play tennis in Malibou where he lives. He
was with us for four hours, chatting and signing autographs and was

other questions you threw at him. I am delighted to report that my
childhood feelings have not been shattered, they have been
strengthened. He is as lovely as the Kid he portrayed!
cheers!
Kassidy,
I've just had a really rotten day and you have no idea how far this went in
lifting my spirits. Thank You!

Great item on Ebay. We recently had a video tape of the movie Chisum
donated for our fund raiser. We put on arts events free to the
community. Geoffrey Deuel signed the box for us. The item is at

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying one of the Just You, Me,
and the Governor fanzine back issues. Will probably pick the very
first issue as a place to start but was wondering if any of you have a
personal favorite that you'll keep until it turns to dust. Doesn't
matter to me if it's a JYMG issue or one of the others that's out
there, I'm just looking for some opinions as to whether I'll wish I'd
have kept my money (which is always in short supply being as I'm a
single parent, and now one whose kid starts college in August). I
like both characters but tend to favor Kid a bit. Oh, and does anyone
have any used ASJ fanzines for sale or ? Or a source for them? Found
a couple places where to buy them new and used, but the used tend to
cost more than the new. Very bizarre.
Anybody read this one yet? Posted recently over at Bunnyfic, it's a
friendship,action/adventure good long read by Brenda Anders and gives
both characters equal time . . .

OMG! IT'S A DOCTOR WHO CROSSOVER! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
*does happy dance around computer*
I love Dr Who crossovers!
I'll admit that I've been working on bit of a Doctor who crossover
(the 7th doc, I think) with a couple characters from Stargate and one
from the Pretender with the Doctor.
But I'm a very slow writer...
Thanks for the notice!

In case anyone is interested, there is a new story by Drena Hills
posted on her website. A little different from some of her others as
it's a crossover, among other things, but still well worth the read.

Hello - Thanks for this. I read Outlaw Trail a while ago, have Dead
Ringer and Dragooned at the ready, so have three more to acquire
then! I'll have a look on e bay. I've tried online booksellers but
ASJ novels don't come cheap do they?
I'm off to watch my next ep now: The Clementine Incident. Getting
near the end - that's why I need the other books now!
Best Wishes
Michael

The six ASJ novels I know about were written by Brian Fox back in the
1970's. The are Dead Ringer, Apache Gold, The Outlaw Trail, Cabin
Fever, Trick Shot, and Dragooned.
I've read most of these and I enjoyed them, but I would say that is
mostly because I am a die hard ASJ fan. The writing is not the
greatest, but I think other fans like myself will enjoy them anyway.
The plots kept me interested enough to finish off each book in a
weekend. And I am the type of person who does not finish a book if it
bores me.
Glad to share some info, Michael.
I use the book a lot. It's like a Heyes and the Kid bible. I just wish they
had color pics but black and white are way better than nothing.
Take care.

Michael,
My buddy taped 4 tapes with about 26-28 AS&J eps but I don't have the Ida
Lupino ep.
I do the book that came out recently.
Alias Smith & Jones
(The Story of Two Pretty Good Bad Men)
By: Sandra Sagala & JoAnne Bagwell
It's a great book. About 400 pages. Lots of pics (all in black & white), and
detailed accounts of every episode.
I bought mine for I think 420 from this guy. He's very dependable.

I also bought a copy for a good friend.

Hi All,
I'm working my way through all the episodes and have just
reached 'High Lonesome Country'. A bit soon for a reappearance by
Buddy Ebsen, I thought, only a handful of episodes after his
appearance in 'What's in it for Mia?', especially as he was
portraying a different character this time - a much less appealing
one too!
Speaking of Mia, and Ida Lupino, does anyone have any photographs or
screen grabs of her in the role that they would be kind enough to
post? I can't take any pics from my discs because they're Region 1
and I'm in the UK - they'll play on my DVD player but not on my
computer. I thought Mia was a great character and I could watch that
episode again and again.
Another thing - does anyone know how many ASJ novels there were and
what they were all called?
Regards to All,
Michael,
Coalville, Leicestershire, United Kingdom.
