Re: Print The Legend (even more recent) Update (Part III)...

sadmad: What to think about this, you ask? First of all, you kind of
wonder who this 'source close to David', who they cite in the
article, might be.

OS: Got a guess? He, himself, was never actually quoted in the
article.

sadmad: If I had to hazard a guess (and that's all it would be, of
ccourse) it would be his girlfriend. She probably heard the whole
story from him. The subject of Linda might be a touchy subject with
him. Still.

MM: How so?

sadmad: Well, I look at that business of the 'source close to David'
saying there wasn't any love or romance or sex on the show. Okay, we
know there wasn't any sex between him and any of the girls. Those
sequences with him and Anique and Cat and Olinda which suggested
that were all a product of clever, but shamelessly deceitful,
editing. But as far as love or romance, well, I think he had
feelings for Cat, and especially for Linda, don't you?

MM: Yeah.

sadmad: Okay, my thought here is that David might harbor some
palpable bitterness toward Linda. He was hurt. And can you blame
him? He received his degree from University of Prague's School of
Hard Knocks.

OS: So to cover up the hurt of being taken in by Linda, he tells
everyone he knows that HE didn't actually have any feelings for HER?

sadmad: That's my guess.

MM: Yeah, I can see that.

OS: What's there to say about Linda then?

sadmad: Again, I'm still just taken aback at what we heard from her
in that interview she gave to the guy from the Prague Post after the
show had aired in the Czech Republic. In retrospect it's becoming
more and more surreal. I'm having difficulty thinking of another
word. Here's a game you might want to play some time - get some
friends together and go through that interview again (as she
recounts her 'version' of what went on during the show) - then get
everyone to drink a shot of bourbon every time you spot a lie.

MM: (laughs) That might make for a real bender.

OS: Yeah. And just as surreal is Karolina referring to Linda as
a 'sweet and amazing lady' while trashing Cat's character and
motivations.

sadmad: Talk about irony! What a pair, those two. I wonder if 'sweet
amd amazing' translates into Czech as something close to 'conniving
and duplicitous' in English?

MM: Hah! Good one, sadmad. Yeah, the editing made Linda come off as
a 'sweet and amazing lady', didn't it?

OS: I guess it just goes back to what we were saying before about
how the more closely you look at 'Reality TV' the more sordid and
squalid it seems to become.

sadmad: You said it. I think the bottom line here is that the ONLY
good thing about JM2; the only good thing about the WHOLE history
of 'Reality TV' for that matter, is -

MM & OS (in unison): Cat!

sadmad: Correctamundo!

OS: Thanks for coming by again, sadmad.

sadmad: Any time, guys. Any time.
