MM: In the final episode, as the tension mounts as to which one of
the two girls David is going to pick, both Cat and Linda are heard
making a number of comments about their feelings of what their status
is with regard to the end of the 'competition'. Linda's statements,
you'll recall, are frought with a tone of anxious concern -
OS: - like when we see her standing in front of a window looking out
upon the grounds of the Villa and saying 'I'm still doubting if he
loves me'.
MM: Of course we should probably make sure the word 'statement' is
understood to be taken with our large dose of salt again since
the 'I'm still doubting if he loves me' we heard from Linda there,
was, of course, a cut and paste edit - "I'm still doubting if"//"he
loves me."
OS: But continuing this 'Linda in a dither' theme we were being being
handed, Linda is also seen in an interview segment saying 'I found
what I've been looking for, but it doesn't mean I'm sure about his
feelings for me'.
sadmad: I remember that.
MM: Linda is shown in a medium close-up as she says this, right up to
the point of when says "I found what I've been looking for, but it
doesn't mean I'm sure about his"/ -
OS: - then they cut away from Linda herself while we heard "feelings
for me", which was pasted on there from somewhere else.
sadmad: So we're left to ponder what it was, exactly, she wasn't sure
about? She wasn't sure about his - what?
OS: Also what it was she was looking for.
MM: And how or where she found it.
sadmad: (laughs) You guys are such (expletive deleted).
OS: But the most intriguing instance we came up with, in retrospect,
was another seemingly innocuous statement from Linda made during the
build-up to the selection. Linda is heard in another interview
segment saying 'I'm still doubting if I'm the one he's going to
choose.'
OS: Cut and paste edit again, sadmad.
sadmad: Yeah, I figured.
MM: Now the first part of that statement "I'm still doubting if"/ -
was also used in the "I'm still doubting if"/"he loves me." clip
mentioned previously.
OS: So the part that 'I'm still doubting if' clip was pasted onto was
that of Linda saying "I'm the one he's going to choose"!
sadmad: Whoa!
MM: Exactly.
sadmad: Whoa!
MM: It does tend to make one wonder what context she made THAT
statement in, then, doesn't it?
